I purchased, received and installed X-Plane 10 when it became available. Now, I see information about X-Plane 10 Global Edition. What exactly is this and what is the difference between it and what I have already or will I receive/need more discs?

Hi,I thought artifacts were an FSX phenomenon but playing with the XPX demo (RC2) this morning on approach to KSEA in the Baron I saw this:They were difficult to catch because they're momentary before they reappear somewhere else, but you can see the black triangles in the pictures? They're not only black, but all sorts of colours. Anyone seen this?

I finally got my DVD's after UPS lost them for a few days. Im installing it via the downloaded installer from Xplanes site. Im only on the first dvd and Ive got several errors during install. It says "I am unable to copy the file D:\xplane 10/resources/bitmaps/earth1-nem.png.zip from the DVD to the hard drive (too many files in system) You can continue with installation oand attempt to repaei the dammaged files later or cancel. I keep hitting conntinue. this is the 4th time I go this error and Im still on disk 1.Do I have a bad disk? Should I just cancel and see about getting a replacement from Xplane?Funny thing is, the same thing happednd to me with XP9 years ago.ROb

Hello you lot!!!!I've had X Plane10 running on a GTS250,just recently upgraded the graphics card...My question would be,should a reinstall of X Plane be in order or can i get away with deleting preferences and such?Reason i ask,is i've installed the card and it's running a lot slower than my GTS250,from 20fps down to around 12.It's actually not a massive upgrade,but i figured i would benefit from using a 1gig card verses 512MB....The new card is a 560If a reinstall doesn't work,i can only think that X Plane10 enjoys the 250 clock speeds over the 560's (think the 250 is clocked higher)....or the card is broke. i dunno :(Would enjoy any comments on my misery,i will be repor…

Hi,My CPU has hyperthreading, but i've had it turned off in the BIOS because FSX does not benefit from it. As X-Plane 10 is a more modern engine and seems to better utilize multithreading, would it benefit if I were to turn on hyperthreading again?

This is a "branch" from the original thread that started HERE simply because the conversation is so x-plane oriented, I figure it should be here. Well that's the general idea...to let people build airports very quickly. One idea we're kicking around is letting users submit their work for redistribution through the x-plane updater similar to the way airport layouts can be contributed by users now. Of course there's a mechanism to override scenery like this for those who want their own custom stuff...but it'd be a great way to fill in lots of airports by users and very quickly too. Hi, just wondering if there is adjustment anywhere in planemaker to readjust the elevator trim, for takeoff in particular.Any ideas anyone?

I'm considering getting XPX and have two questions. When you need to change radio frequencies (for example when you leave Tower control and contact Departure) can XP perform the frequency change for you (as is done in FSX) or must this be done manually?Do all (or most) XP aircraft have an onboard GPS? If so, can the GPS be positioned in a separate window so you can adjust its size and make it easier to read, if necessary?Oh, one other question. I'm currently using FSX on 3 monitors with Matrox TripleHead2Go (TH2G). Will XPX work with TH2G?Thanks much for any info.Bob

Just curious on this. Carenado has aircraft for both FSX and XPX. Are there any differences when comparing the same aircraft between the 2 sims. So, last night, I had a chance to enjoy the night scenery over las vegas. I must say, it looks great. I think I may have finally got this thing running good.

It'll take about a week or so to get here. Man am I excited. I've always had X-Plane and MSFS on my computer.Even had both FSX and FS9 and X-plane on my computer at the same time.I've been playing the X-Plane X demo for awhile now and I like it.I've always been able to configure X-Plane to run sweet on my computer and, X-Plane X is also as easy to configure.MSFS it is not: for this I am glad: I like 'em both.

One of my pet hates in fs9 was being able to see the airport through an overcast layer after you climb through it.In the xp10 demo after creating a solid overcast in cumulus clouds (tried stratus too ) i was annoyed to be able to see the airport lights looking back after I climbed through the layer. Is this an xp demo limitation,a result of the missing "cloud opacity adjuster switch" that was in the first release or something I'm doing wrong?.Many thanks Nigel

Is it just me, but most of my flightsload up with fog everywhere forcing me to use the Clearsky plugin. Is this XP9s way of controlling FPS?

I was reading on the "other" board about someone who had been spending a considerable amount of time (years) in creating this amazing aircraft.. It was so detailed it even had realistic, and functioning modeled ejection capsules.. He quit working on the project and according to a post was taken aboard the XP team to create aircraft.. Does anyone know if there is an XB-70 Valkyrie in XP 10??Thank you and Happy Flying..

Can XP10 use photorealistic scenery? The plausable scenery would be fine between cities I land at, but is a deal breaker for places that I know and recognize.Thanks!

Hi!First post in the XP forum. I own the full version of XP9 but never used it that much as I always tended to prefer using FSX. For a change, I downloaded the XP10 demo to try it out, and am quite impressed. I like the shadowing and the clouds. I'm not enormously fond of the new scenery but it might grow on me! One thing i'm struggling a little with is getting an acceptable frame rate. Coming from FSX, which has always been known to be a dog when it comes to performance, I expected XP10 to be very zippy and quick, but this doesn't seem to be the case. In the demo area of Seattle i'm struggling to get 20fps at times. System spec is not exactly slow: Core i7 920 @ 4.0GHz,…

Still playing around with XP10 and most of my hops start at KORF (Norfolk, VA), one of the things I noticed is that there seems to be lil to no industrial/business areas. Everything appears as a Cul-de-Sac, even all the military bases in the area have homes on them. The piers were the Carriers are located also have homes on them. I know it's still in Beta, or RC1, but does anyone have any insight that the areas might be upgraded in the future? One last gripe for me is that the roads need more variation. The numerous clean grey roads, just don't seem quite right.Just did a flight around the St. Louis Arch, although better than Va it also seems to have too many homes.
