Well this weekend I spent 165 USD on various items X-plane related. In addition I'm happy with everything I bought. So for any developers that are contemplating on if there is a market, I'm proof that if you develop it, someone will buy it. Once XPX is released i'm sure there will be others like me who are curious about its potential and what is available to make it better.

I was a former X-Plane user that switched to FSX. Now with XP10 being released I am eager to try again but I am so happy with the immersing look that I can achieve in FSX that I don't want to be let down in XP10. I am not talking simply about graphics but more so about the color and feel of the world. The ENB series does great things I believe and could really make XP look better; is it possible to have ENB in XP?

Has anyone tried the autopilot in v10? I have read the documentation but still cannot get it to work correctly as I think it should. Could be I don't understand the Flight Director according to the manual. And ALL the autopilot equipped aircraft have Flight Director OFF, ON, and AUTO modes?Can't seem to get any plane to hold vertical speed and altitude.

I own XP9 but haven't flown it in a couple of years. I installed the XP10 demo and after a lot of initial frustration managed to get it running fairly smooth on my modest and aging AMD quad core 2.1 GHZ computer. At the default settings the start up times were an absolute horror - I'm talking like around 8 to 10 minutes on my computer! Then every time I made a change to a graphics settings to improve performance I had to wait all over again. Very frustrating, and I almost gave up on it! After several very frustrating hours adjusting the settings I'm now getting decent frames rates and the load times have improved considerably.My impressions:The stock Cessna 172 looks and …

Anyone else having problems downloading real weather in beta 3, its stuck at -1% for me

Been trying the demo and adjusting stuff to give me decent performance. Just want to see how she runs before I buy. I have an old system that is probably best suited for lower settings. I seem to have a serious performance hit when AI aircraft are in my field of view. Can anyone tell me where to turn off the AI?Thanks!

I assumed that I could use FSBuild to construct flight plans for X-Plane on my Apple iMac. That assumption was incorrect as FSBuild operates under Windows but not under the Apple OS.Is there an alternative Flight Planner that can be used with my Apple and that is able to export it's Plans to X-Plane 10 aircraft?Cliff

Hi Community,I own the X-Plane 10 Demo and try to work with my self build Homecockpit.In FSX I use FSUIPC to handle events on "button-press", "button-hold", "button-released" functions of my joystick to start a action "4-example Lights-On <-> Lights-off". That meens I am using a joystick hardware (ARCAZE) inside my FSX and a registered version of FSUIPC to handle several switches.In X-Plane I just found out that I can connect events to "button press". While installing my new copy, I noticed a strange thing happening. This is for those that have the full version using the installers on a windows operating system, see if this happens to you:Start off using the DOWNLOADED installer (did this on the Disc1 installer as well, but found we shouldn't be using it on any OS)Once the contents of Disc 1 are finished, the installer will open the DVD tray, begging you to insert Disc 2, same with 3-8When I insert the next disc, the previous disc data is on the drive contents - open windows explorer, navigate to the disc drive - there is a file "Readme DVD X.txt" where X is the DVD numberIn order to get the actual disc information I …

I was doing a flight where I set things up for night and started. I was in the default baron that has no instrument lights. So I changed aircraft and it plonked me down an an airfield somewhere interrupting my flight. I have changed aircraft in flight a few times, always forgetting that this would end my flight. Is there a way to change this behavior so I continue in the sky where I was?Thanks!

Just revisited X-Plane for the first time in a few years with the V.10 demo.I was so blown away that I was ready to order my copy, just as soon as I figured out the right setting to activate my Nvidia 3D Vision glasses.Man, was I ever disappointed to learn, after a little looking around, that OpenGL graphics aren't supported by these glasses, and that there's currently no solution to make them and X-Plane 10 work together.I've been simming in 3D for about three years now, and find there's just no going back to 2D. For me it would be like switching to a new sim, and not being able to use, say, TrackIR.I would love Nvidia to reconsider releasing OpenGL for their 3D Vision g…

I thought id mention some of the things that really impressed me with XPlane and the Xplane 10 demo. -- I love the night lighting (best ive seen)-- The cloud shadows add depth and look really nice to me.-- Roads and road traffic are very well done!-- The interface has taken some getting use to, but I’m liking it now that I’m use to it and I actually like it now.-- Austin’s openness for discussing X-plane during and after its creation is very refreshing! Should I switch from FSX? I love my FSX and only plane spot and fly AI planes. I am most interested in detailed scenery and lots of variety of airlines and colors. I have numerous payware airport and city scenery and use world of ai and traffic X to generate lots of traffic. I also use super traffic board to watch ai planes arrive, depart, and fly realistic routes. Can Xplane measure up to this? or should I stay with FSX?

I have seen screenshots from others showing suburbs with roads, but none of my suburbs have roads. You can see where the roads should be, but there are no roads except for the major highways. Is there a setting I have to set? Or is it just glitching on my end? I'd post a screenshot but I'm at work and didn't think to post this last night.

I just notice on the Xplane desktop page .. http://www.x-plane.com/index_desktop.htmlXplane makes the statement .. "As real as it gets" . I thought that was the FSX's tagline? Xplane you have your own identity .. dont take on FSX's.

Hi,As a constant FS9 user im ready for a follow up. Microsoft totally missed the boat with FSX cause of the rediculous hardware requirements. It will be playable somewere in 2020. So time to try the XP 10 demo. Maybe this should go in the Hardware forum..However i am focusing on using this for XP10 maybe MSFlight later.. But XP10 is looking very inviting, especially if people provide scenery adjustments ect.My existing system is 4+ years old, Windows XP, Intel Core 2 E6600, 2GB Ram, EVGA Geforce 8800 640mb video card.. Also using Triplehead2go with 3 - 19" LCD's..It runs XP10 pretty smooth, aside from a stutter about every 10 to 15 seconds, but it doesnt interfere with flying a whole lot..
