Well, I must state that I am enjoying the demo. I'm have a Q9550 overclocked to 3.6Ghz and a GeForce 275 video card. I'm still increasing the settings and have yet to find a point where the sim is unflyable. Two questions. Is there a feature to un-dock aircraft panels for movement to other monitors?Are there any aircraft available with the Garmin G1000?

Can anyone who has used the XP10 beta demo comment on the turbulence.I own and enjoy XP9.One of the few gripes I have with it is the modelling of turbulence, particularly the turbulence hard coded with cumulus. The subject has been done to death in threads elsewhere. What I would appreciate is simmers opinions of the effect in XP10. Is it scaleable ? Is it hard coded with the cumulus clouds (ie if you set the scale to zero is it still present in and around them?Thanks for any info TIM

1) Does X-Plane 10 still have cloud shadows? I have not seen any screen shots of a sunny day with cloud shadows over the terrain. That was a nifty visual effect in X-Plane 9. I'm hoping it still exists in 10.2) What aircraft are included in the demo and what will be included in the official release? I remember reading about a Dornier aircraft and a really nice MD-80 series aircraft that were allegedly going to be included with the release. I have not seen any of those in demo videos/screen shots.Thanks for any info.

I have tried to use the installer over the last three or four days. Each time, I only get to the mask that says the installer is looking for an Xplane demo server. That's it. It just sits there...until after about 15 minutes I shut the installer mask down. iIt doesn't work!I don't wish to use Torrents....MItch

Hi Everyone,This is a really interesting one. I've got the XP10 demo with a Saitek yoke/throttle quadrant + a USB throttle quadrant. Everything works in XP9.I've done the setup for leavers 1 - 6 with throttle 1 / throttle 2 / prop 1 / prop 2 / mixture 1 / mixture 2 in that order across the two quadrants.I've done the cailbration, and when I move the leaver back and forth, the green bar moves back and forth.So it looks like the setup part is seeing the leavers ok.When I go into an aircraft and turn on the data display for joystick (woring fine in all planes) / throttle / prop and mixture I see the data changing for the following items in the following aircraft:C172 - Throt…

Has anyone been able to use reverse thrust yet? If so, please clue me in on how to use it. I'm not familiar with Xplane's way of using it. Thanks

Anyone know how to setup the CH Throttle properly so that the built-in detents are "idle" and pulling full aft is reverse thrust?? I checked CH Throttle on the hardware tab of the joysticks page, but I can't figure out what that does (other than it seems to make things worse...).Anyone use FSUIPC in FS9 or FSX for joystick setup? I do, and it's awesome for setting up the CH throttle. It's that kind of setup that I am hoping for in XP10.Thanks,James

I spent a good few hours yesterday playing with the demo.The weather and clouds are very impressive. Felt very realistic flying though cloud solid cloud layers. Also flying just under a cloud level had that feeling you were going to hit the ceiling which is what I experience in real life. The framerates are quite good with medium settings. Dragging the window across 2 screens maybe loses 5-10% which is very acceptable.Being new to xp need a bit of advice.1. I'm using the manuals for xp9 for help. Some things I discovered tonight which you may or may not know-you can assign the ai traffic to fly formation with you-pick the planes you want etc.-what a hoot! Taking off my wingman was overflying the airport waiting for me to pull into position.The real weather downloads make the clouds look so much better than the manual settings. Watching the weather come down even in the short demo time was spectacular-the virga, and eventual rain along with ground fog spectacular.There is an awful lot to discover in this sim and I can't wait to get the real thing to have more time to discover it!This sim is all about setting it up right-get the right combo of looks and performance …

So I just decided I would pay and see what its like. I hoped to use it over christmas but when I got to shipping it said either $12 for 2-6 *weeks* shipping or $50 for ups express. I ship stuff all over the world for some flight sim stuff I make and I know that what I ship is bigger and it is 3-10 days anywhere for around 12-16 USD. This isnt a complaint against the cost although I do think an option should be in the middle, something faster than up to 6 weeks and something cheaper than $50. hi,i have visited this site for the first time after trying the version 10 demo. and came across the post about removing critical posts, dont you feel that this is a trifle marxist?i remember well when fsx was released there was a hue and cry givng a lot of criticism about fsx to which MS immediately responded with several service packs.Do you think for 1 minute that these service packs would have been forthcoming if this criticism hadnt been voiced on forums such as this?similarly xplane creators will get feedback, ok some perhaps undeserved but they can sift through the constructive criticism and see where real problems lie. I tried setting weather to Cat I mins but all I get after I depart is starry night sky. I even set clouds to 100% opacity. Could this be an nvidia inspector profile issue?In the pic I'm even descending to attempt to get the ground in sight... but nothing's there.Also things are really funky in tower view... I can see stars below the airport. Almost like the airport is floating in the galaxy...

As I found out earlier on the default settings for the TM warthog were not usable so I slid the value to around 30 on the linear/non linear slider. This made the control a lot easier. The other night I moved to to ~ 55 and while things were not immediately different I noticed a big improvement when I tried to land. During the flare I was able to pull the nose up while still sinking and not worried that I was going to gain altitude which I had to be a lot more cautions about with the other setting. The landing felt a lot better. Just wondering what other hog users have settled one there? The other question is for windowed mode. To get better fps I am running…

I made one but I'm still getting a ton of shimmering. I essentially used the same profile for XP as I do for FSX (in fsx it looks excellent!).Any tips? If I don't use a profile I can turn on HDR AA within XP but it drops the frames significantly. It's still very usable but panning with TIR is rough on the eyes.

Seattle seems to be engulfed in fog this evening. I was going to do a little VFR hop (what else can you do in 10 minutes) but the ceiling is something like 300 feet! Oh well. I guess I can always turn the weather off, but that's not as much fun.
