Community,Has anyone mapped the same controls (Keyboard/Joystick) commands to X-plane? The user interface is very interesting in XP10.Tim

I'm currently intending to begin a private pilot course. So, I thought it would nice to buy a sailtek yoke and ruddder pedals and use X-Plane as a training tool. Anyone used or uses X-Plane as a training tool? What are your experiences with it?One very unrealistic thing I note on X-Plane is that the aircrafts are much stable! It's like a "stiff flight"! I remember X-Plane 7 wasn't that stiff. Now, when you turn the yoke, the aircraft doesn't bounce a bit. It's very, very unrealistic. Please, fix this X-Plane!Thanks,Teo Halfen

Just tried the demo, and sorry but the clouds are terrible. They don't look natural, keep "puffing" in and out as you fly. I get it, that you can't draw all the clouds out 100 miles in advance, but you also should see the clouds morphing constantly. I like the new terrain, graphics (though colors are still washed out) but can't get past the clouds. Will REX work with this?

So I attempted the torrent download. 10 kb/s or less. Then I tried the website demo download. Less than 5 kb/s.If you're going to advertise a demo at least have the server capacity so people can download it!Back to FSX I go..

After more flak I decided to try the XP9 demo....again.... For now I'll put aside my hatred of the GUI, controls setup (why so difficult to set up hat switch??), and funky AA and AF. Can anyone let me know if the addons get better than the default PA46 that's included in the demo? If the real malibu flew like the demo one does Piper would be getting sued on a daily basis. Or if there's some realism slider I need to change to make it better? Here, look a screenie, to prove I'm trying it again haha.

I am anxious to fly around some of the major hubs and see how realistic the airport lighting looks.. Also seeing how the traffic on the roads flow will be a neat thing..It will probably be very amazing seeing what all improvements/addons/enhancements are brought to the table in the first year of this platforms release..

A feature i have always been impressed with about the B-52 is its ability to crab.. I have used the "other" sim even going as far as buying an aftermarket B-52 which you can use the crab wheel aft the engine controls and can make the wheels crab.. However due to a limitation in the sim, it relies on the track heading of the plane when you land and automatically straightens the aircraft.. With X-planes different approach to physics of the planes, does it do the same thing, or can you actually track straight down the runway even through the aircraft is in a yawed heading to the runway??Thanks

I am an avid FSX user and gave XP9 a try. One thing that bothered me was that in one of the small planes that I flew, (Cessna or Archer?) I had a really tough time gettig the autopilot radios to work, and even then I found out it was only partly simulated.I just built a new system with an i7-920 2.6 Ghz. overclocked to 4.0 ghz, 3X4 gig (12 total) of DDR3 Corsair ram, EVGA Geforce GTX 275 1792 mb gpu also overclocked to mem clock - 1200, shader clock - 1574, and core clock - 710., and Windows 7 - 64 bit with service pack 1.I can run FSX very well with some sliders only slightly turned down. Will I be able to run XP10 near max settings? If so, maybe it will be time to s…

The massive problem with the x plane series is they hide distant objects with volumetric fog or have it popping up out of thin air (David Copperfield style mountains). The visibility model is a disgrace and I don't see that it has been sorted out from the screenshots. They have plenty of excuses for why they can't resolve the problem but very little in the way of solutions it seems...

Well to be honest I am actually fishing for an opinion from a Mr. Applegate !!.Reading through a discussion about viewing distances GEOFA stated he had owned one. Brilliant. This is my favourite x-plane next to the F104 (don't ask).If your around I would love to hear how it compares to the real thing: the good and not so good. Thanks TIM

Pop the champagne! The SR-71 thrives!I love the VC! Any chance of a animated cockpit canopy?

I'm continuing my X-Plane 9 explorations in anticipation of X-Plane 10, and, like a lot of MSFS veterans, am struggling a bit with the flight modeling.Obviously my experience varies from one aircraft to another, but I find that even with the best I've experienced (the MU-2, the BK 117) it's hard for me to avoid the puppet-on-a-string flight dynamics. The only way I've found to damp out the bounciness is to push the stability sliders way high - above 60 percent, and sometimes to 80 or 100 percent. I know that's not supposed to be "realistic," but neither is the weightless, jerky feel I get when the settings are lower.I'm wondering if part of the issue might be my joystic…

Hello Gang! From everything that I've read and judging by the tons of infromation and screenshots that have been released, it's no doubt that XP10 will set a new standard in flight simulation. No doubt that the airport sceneries will be of high quality (especially since the application contains a scenery builder), the atmospherics look amazing, the overall environment, even the AI logic and engine appears to be a far cry from what we've seen so far in other sims, however - there are two pieces of information that I have not yet seen that in my mind would add a tremendous sense of realism to XP10:1. AI customization. Are we goign to be able to customize the AI aircraft wi…
