Because it might have been the review of X-Scenery's MU-2 on this site that pushed me into buying X-Plane and the MU-2 eighteen months ago!And unfortunately the blurry instrument textures on the MU-2 just as quickly pushed me out again. Specifically the altimeter - the setting window is always blurry and impossible to read.But no more! I've just made my first X-Plane instrument. It's a replacement altimeter with legible Kollsman window. Hi, I am not totally new to xplane but have not used it in well over a year and when I used it initially it was not for very long. I am using v9 latest.The panning in VC was very choppy. I thought maybe it had to do with the rendering options being to high. What will determine whether or not I will purchase X-Plane 10 is the environment. As a casual flight simulator pilot, I have no gripes with the planes or flight models. However, I am very unhappy with the world in which these planes fly. It feels much like I am in the Batman universe of dark cities and washed out colors and skys. This is not the world we live in. When the sun is out, colors become brighter and more saturated. And, there is more contrast between the clouds and deep blue sky.The question then, is why is this so with x-plane and not other games and flight sims? Is it a problem with OpenGL? If so, perhaps Austin should move to DirextX. I know, not go…

HiThis may have been discussed before but I've never used x-plane. Is it true that you need multiple machines to run multiple displays. I run multiple displays now with fsx, but I only need one computer. I'd like to try x-plane, but not if I need more than one machine to have window views.ThanksBobby

Hi, I just wanted to ask: Does X-Plane have any aircraft with good systems simulation? e.g. A modern glass cockpit jet with FMC/FADEC/etc. fully implemented. I have been looking around, but although I can find lots of small aircraft addons, I can't find anything like the PMDG 737 or similar.

I have tried to find it here but to no avail.I've just been watching this on Youtube and thought it might be of interest. it seems that JRollon (of CRJ200 fame) has been working on the default X-plane 10 planes. It looks like he has done some extensive work on the shuttle and X-15 cockpits and models. I think they are looking very good, really atmospheric. Looks like he has worked on a couple of others too. Hi there.I'm considering buying X-plane based on the fact that Mr Meyer and everybody with the simulator constantly go on about the excellent flight models.However, I have just found this article about version 8.5 which says that the default 172 can't perform many basic aerodynamic functions such as slipping and spinning correctly.Has this been corrected in version 9? If not I'm not coughing up a single penny.Thanks.

I'm preparing LIRF for upload to the X-Plane forum. However, I erroneously trashed the pdf charts that came with the original scenery.In the original download from avsim.com, there were 4 or 5 files with names like:lirf.pdflirf-west.pdflirf-north.pdfetc.I could not find the original LIRF at avsim.com, isdproject.com or even via web search.Does anyone have those pdf files?? If so, could you please send all of them all to me as soon as possible?Thanks for any help. :(
