Hi folks,I am interested to know if adverse yaw and sideslip are modelled in X-plane (ie. yaw / beta effects). I ask because I have yet to see it modelled in any freeware or payware models. Now that maybe for a number of reasons--I may not be using the right models! But it isn't obvious in otherwise excellent models (eg STMS Husky, Yak55 , Falco 1.2)--I may not have set the simulator correctly. However I can't see where I could have switched the effects off.--Perhaps the effect is overwhelmed by other effects. I've noticed that the slipstream effect from the engine on the runway is overwhelmed by even the lightest cross-wind.--Perhaps it isn't modelled or is difficult to…

Where do you transfer the DVD scenery files? CUSTOM SCENERY Folers in the X-plane directory? That doesn't work, when I do that I just get the default water scenery.

This can help to get the big break through for X-Plane for the masses. Aerosoft is the big player in add-on Software and they have product presence in a lot of the supermarket shelves in Europe. After REX and Carenado we just need A2A, Orbx and PMDG to get onboard and we don't need any MS Flight in the future. After all you can like X-Plane or FSX, but in the end what really makes shine Flight Simulators are the quality add-ons, at least that is my opinion.

Hi guys,I'm new and I'm loving my experience with X-plane 9 so far, but one thing is very frustrating.. how do I change the time rate in order to arrive faster? waiting for hours from A to B is a bit frustrating. I know that I could change that on Flight Simulator, but I have no idea how to do it on X-plane 9.Please help.Thanks!G.

Just something I noticed wasn't posted in here. A couple of guys have started an X-Plane Site a while ago. They post up any and all news and reviews on upcoming and already released aircraft and scenery from many developers.I do not work for them in any way and have nothing to do with their day to day operations other than to send a couple of screenshots every few weeks on whatever I'm working on.

Hi,Today I downloaded the Robin by XP-France.I really was surprised to see such a great model for X-Plane being published as freeware. This nice bird is of a much higher level of quality than the average freeware planes for X-Plane.The only thing I really do not understand is the fact the makers of the model made the bird so dull and glossless.I added some gloss and specularity to the model and as you can see the difference is really huge.Adding some gloss not only makes the model glossy it also enhanches the depth of the colors and the effect of the bumpmapping. Why the makers did not use the available techniques , I wonder.Lets hope they will provide us with a Version3 ha…

I am getting pretty fed up with FSX, all the CDTs, all the deleting files downloading this and that, and still nothing seems to change just more and more FSXers joining the forum with more and more problems , can any one tell me is the change to X-PLANE better, worse our all of the above? First i have a Saitek Yoke, radios, and throttles 4 of them, are they all compatable with X-PLANE? Can I use my FSX add-ons? such as scenery, textures, planes etc? Is installing add-ons as easy in X-PLANE as in FSX or is it another learning curve? Trying to read the X-PLANE forum but would like some specifics? Any help would be helpful, THANKS

So I have been following XP10 for ages now, and today I came across this.... Now, as far as I know, all legitimate XP10 info has come from Austin on the XP website, the Scenery Blog, or a post by a developer (as in, the ones on the org or the video of JRollon planes). Also, there was that OshKosh vid. But this is different. It doesnt seem nearly as well made, but the aircraft look rather nice, and I remember hearing about an MD80 series aircraft as default for XP10 (I think it was mentioned when talking about what went on at the last XP congress). Is this legit? Because images of these particular aircraft were never shown on the XP site, and I dont think there was ever …

Hello Gang! One of the most frustrating things about X-Plane 9 for me is that there is only one button you can assign to reverse thrust. Usually that button only triggers reverse on one engine so whenever you apply reverse thrust, guess what???, the airplane starts steering all over the place - it's annoying. Would it be possible that for X-Plane 10 Austin assigns a reverse thrust button to each engine? That way, if people like me, who fly with a throttle quadrant, want to apply reverse with the quadrant, we can easily assign a button to each engine to apply reverse. That would be very beneficial. Any input from anyone? Has anyone run into this and found a workaround…

The CRJ-200 has been cancelled. This product was already 12 months late and apparently the FMS was still a long way from completion!Quote from Japo32 over at the X-Pilot forums Read about it here:-http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?board=42.0In a somewhat cynical move the CRJ forums over at x-pilot.com have been made read-only to avoid comments by the community.I feel sorry for Japo32 that this product had to be cancelled due to the lack of effort by the systems programmer Anton. The visual model by Japo32 was absolutely amazing so its a real shame this product will never be released.

Hello Gang!I am one of the "silent observers" here at the forums and have been around for over 20 years, posting from time to time. For the most part, I have been a MSFS series user for years, especially since days of SubLogic and FLY were over. I am also an ocassional user of X-Plane and have had the last 3 releases (the old XPlane, version 8, and version 9), and lookng forward to version 10. I am very encouraged by what has been shown so far by Austin for version 10 (the aircraft details, the new graphics methods and technology, we know about the wondeful flight modelling, etc...), but one things that has always turned me down a bit from X-Plane is ATC and AI traffic…

http://www.x-plane.com/pg_news.htmlIn my honest opinion whenever Austin describes his X-plane updates i sometimes feel that he gets a little eccentric describing the features and making heavy use of capitals and so forth. Well you can't say he isn't passionate about his hobby...lol! When Austin said he was going to make scenery you could literally drive down, i chalked it to another one of his over the top marketing spiels. But...BLIMEY, I'm pretty impressed by his news update on the 9th of January. Those neighborhoods look very, very good.Rhydian

Hi folks,Please forgive my ignorance here...I run a virtual airline and we generally have only catered for folks with MS flight sims (9 and X). Now however, we have some pilots with X-Plane and we are trying to see if we can provid them the same level of service as we do for our other pilots. We use FSACARS to log our flight hours and provide online flight data. FSCARS communicates with FS via the FSUIPC module. Now, I see that there is a plugin called XUIPC which apparently allows programmes that interface with MSFS/FSUIPC to now interface with X-Plane. However, I can find no information as to whether FSACARS has been tested in this respect? If anyone has some experinece …

I have the demo installed. I have a non-USB joystick. The demo recognizes my CH Flightstick Pro non-USB joystick. I have the pitch, roll, throttle, gear, and flaps working in the demo with no problems. I can fly OK in the demo. I have not tried setting up the hat switch yet. It even saves my settings when I return. The manual says that the full up version needs a USB joystick. My question is can I run the full up Version 9 with my non-USB joystick like I can in the demo? I have tried getting registered on the forum and they never have sent me any return e-mail setting up my login information. Thanks, regards, Bob.
