Good to see the Grand Caravan finally being done in XP. Seems to me that with each offering, Carenado's addons for XP are getting more complex as they get more comfortable working with the platform. Would love to see the Cirrus SR22 with some properly done XP10 features some day. Wonder if they will ever do something exclusive for XP, although not sure how much business sense that makes though. Still, I welcome the effort that they are making towards the franchise. Rhydian

When i start x-plane with my new GTX670 nvidia it starts to hang while "will init world rendering" - and i can't start it at all. any clues? i tried to contact support but after a week with no answer i try here.

Just out of curiosity. Is anyone using X-Plane to fly for a virtual airline?

Not sure when it happened, I'm thinking when I upgraded drivers recently (Geforce 301.24 and the one previous release) Deleted my Prferences for a default reload and also copied over my initial Clean Install and still not working.

Hello Team! I read everywhere that X-Plane 10 is supposed to have a scenery for LOWI. I can't find any folder on LOWI and when I go to that airport, everything except the runways and taxiways are missing. Heeeelp! Thanks. Dennis

Afternoon all, I've started work on my next airport: Insch (X6IN). It's a tiny airfield, but very local to where I live. Dyce version 4 (EGPD) has yesterday been uploaded to the org, Still some work here to do in future, but I fancy a change of scenery for now. One of the things I'm wanting to do for Insch is to add the neighbouring road to the scenery pack. Now this road was added to OSM after Laminar got their scenery compiled. However I can't find a tool to convert the OSM roads data into x-plane. OSM2XP doesnt do roads, and WED will crash when I make an attempt here. Are there any other tools for the job? Cheers Anthony

I just downloaded this after returning home from a 2 week assignment offshore. What an excellent package! I saw the screenshots and could see this was a masterpiece, but getting into the cockpit: - There's a "war map" laid out on a table behind the copilot seat. It's got a model plane on it showing your present location and heading. I've not seen this in any other simulator, it's a nice touch! - Engine sounds are terrific. - The engines are hard to get going (hold that starter on, and don't let go....) - Return the throttle to idle on the ground and they eventually splutter and die. - The manual, a work of art. Hi all, I received my hard copy of X-Plane 10 the other day and have installed the program last night. After several frustrating attempts at installation I downloaded the installer/updater from the X-plane 10 site and finally, successfully (i think!) installed the sim. After the installation the updater prompted that there were updates available so i proceeded to continue with the updates. The update is downloading INCREDIBLY slow although seems to be doing something. I have ADSL 2+ and generally download a lot of stuff and get speeds of 90+ kbps even with a couple of things downloading at the same time. Its not the fastest service but ok. My firewall is off a…

Hi guys I just bought the Inside Passage scenery for Xplane 10 believing it was something approaching Orbx payware scenery add-on. This is not the case. The scenery consists of some very, very poorly textured buildings scattered around some (not all) of the airports of the airports in the BC area. In certain cases, like the CZMT airport, the scenery package actually manages to make the coastline look considerably worse than the default XP10 scenery by removing the beaches. I don't know... maybe I should have been wiser, but I really like X-plane and I keep wishing for some good wide area scenery to appear... cheers

Afternoon all, After getting into an EC-135 chopper and making some progress in mastering my hovering skills, I decided to have a go at downloading the Sbach 300 aerobatic taildragger. She's a handful alright, both in the air and on the ground. So I thought I'd have a go at a more subdued aircraft. The stock Stinson L5 (a fine plane to try). She was somewhat easier to control, but with an 18kt steady crosswind still quite a handfull on the ground. My only crumb of comfort was seeing an AI pilot having a hard time with the stinson as well. What are real taildraggers like to handle on the ground? These ones like to weathervane everywhere, espcially when …

This might belong in the hardware-forum, but I guess that my fellow x-planer is more often scanning this part of the forum so here goes. I am seriously considering upgrading my graphics card. My ATI5870 has served me well, but I think it is time to "go nvidia". I have quite bad performance with even the slightest level of clouds in XPX. Having traffic on is a definite no-go as the frames just curls up in to foetal position and dies. I know there has been an issue with ATI and XPX. Have any of you guys changed from ATI to NVIDIA? Having been poking around at this new install of X-Plane 10, I'm starting to wonder what all the fuss is about regarding the flight modelling.I know that Laminar haved dropped one almighty bollock with the overall quality of the many default aircraft; compared to FS, the X-Plane aircraft are really, really poor. But, I did at least expect to find something different in the flight models. My biggest gripe at the moment has to be the roll momentum.............add control input to bank and it starts to bank, release control input and it stops.....immediately. Im not interested in the other panels to purchase, but If i can get a nice moving map and working GPS on the second monitor, Id be a happy camper. I recently made the switch to X-Plane from Fly! 2K and am considering purchasing the CRJ 200 but i want to learn more about it before i make this pretty large investment. I am looking for some brutally honest feedback. I have not found a lot of unbiased reviews over at x-plane.org because of understandable commercial interests. Afternoon all, Recently I bought Carenado's Piper Seneca 2. A very nice plane it is as well. However I notice that this plane and their other X-Plane offerings so far only include the default GNS 430. By comparison their FSX offerings seem to include GPS / EFIS units that are far more comprehensive (Reality XP plugins?). I'm sure most users would agree that the stock GNS 430 has only very limited functionality and a very 'soft' low resolution display to boot. Personally I think the payware offerings from Carenado and elsewhere are better off leaving the GNS430 out altogether, but it raises the question: Is there something about X-Plane that makes decent GPS / …

In the original instructions on how to vote for an image in the X-Plane contest, I told everyone to click on the little green UP ARROW shown in each of the image's main display screen... Doing that only increases the participants "reputation". We are not contesting reputations, of course, so that was a wrong instruction to give. Instead, to vote on an image and have it mean anything, you need to select one of five STARS that are at the top of each image pane. The fifth star represents the highest vote. C47-D-Flottille 56S nr 87 This repaint is inspired by the French Navy livery for the C47 D . It depicts ( more or less ) the nr 87 at the end of its career with the 52S Flottille. Unless her age , she was a reliable workhorse. These days she does`nt fly anymore but she still exists , standing at the entrance of the Nimes Naval base. As I wanted to give an over-all impression of the bird I aimed my brushes on the outside and to the interior , including the panel and cockpit as well. In FSX,it is recommended that the AA is turned off in the game and is set using the video card software. In my case it's Nvidia Inspector. What is the recommendation when it comes to XP10 ?
