Hello X-Planers, This is a heads up to make sure you all know about the upcoming Town Hall meeting with Austin Meyer of X-Plane on May 19th at 18:30 GMT (2:30 PM EST) using live Teamspeak. We expect that we will have a lot of interest and attendance. Here is Tom Allensworth's announcement: http://forum.avsim.n...-meyer-x-plane/ Would you be so kind as to inform your friends and contacts in the X-Plane world so that they will be able to attend if they wish. I encourage you to download Teamspeak before then, and join the Avsim Teamspeak forums, as it will be rather busy setting this all up on that day. here's how: http://forum.avsim.n...eak_server.html …

Hello, I'm new to XP10 but I'm enjoying the experience. I currently have the Q400, Carenado Seneca II and the CRJ200. Unfortunately, I'm having some issues with the CRJ that I'm working with the developers on. In the mean time, I'm looking for suggestions on my next acquisition. Any suggestions?

I don't have X-Plane yet but I do run a triple mon set up in FS9. Does anyone run triple mons with X-plane? If so, please post details. I read the post on the Nvidia Kepler GTX680. Does anyone know if it's triple monitor outputs will work in X-Plane? Thanks.

Afternoon, I just downloaded the Carenado Seneca 2. A fine bird with some fantastic sounds. It's got me following their engine start up procedures, and I'm ending up asking myself "what happens if I do x & y". So first off: Cowl Flaps: I'm guessing these are ventilation dampers that open up to let more air circulate around the engine for cooling purposes. Does anyone know if their function is simulated by x-plane or Carenado? I'm guessing it's operation will have an effect on the oil temperature. And if oil temp gets too high, does that lead to an engine fire I wonder? So I tried it, one engine with cowl flaps closed and one with cowl flaps open. …

Im not very good at movies, but I live near this airport and wanted to simulate the aproach I see these planes make each day for runway 31 at KLGA. This is of course the Take Command CRJ-200. I used FRAPS, but it really kills my FPS when recording. Is there anyway to not have the recorder thingy display on top when watching replays? Rob

As the X-Plane community grows with the release of XP10, there's a real opportunity for XP devs to grow likewise. ...and this will happen, if we support them.... But support is 2 way and I wanted to post about a hugely disappointing experience with X-Aviation. Last year I got into XP9 and purchased in close succession, 3 products from X-Aviation, totalling around $100. Fast forward around 5 months, and I suffered a catastrophic HD failure and lost not only my FSX and XP installations, but also all of my installers. (Yes, I know they should have been on an external drive! ... I know this now ). I logged into my X-Aviation account to find that I had a down…

Hi All. Downloaded the Demo of X-Plane and it looks good. I have a request. I sure would like to see a few screen shots of the Brownsville Texas area say from the airport (BRO) east to South Padre Island. I am on social succurity and not ready to spend eighty bucks on another Sim thats no better than my FSX, that folder with all the add-on's is over 54 Gigs now. Anyway my E-mail is [email protected]. Thanks and hoping I get lucky. OFF

Guys / Gals need some help or assistance....please I have been creating photo scenery with G2xpl and everything is working fine other than the images / textures are all over the place color wise. Half of them are too brown, the rest are too green. It quite honestly does not look very nice. I do have Photoshop, but I'm not very experienced using it. What I'm trying to do is automate the process of the "Match Color" tool that's under "Image / Adjustments". I have downloaded some videos on the process, but none of them seem to show exactly how to do this. I've also searched online for a Color Match Action but can't seem to find anything. I have created an "Action…

Hi Just found this stuff on the net and thought some who bought the Carenado 152 might find this interesting. On reflection any of the 152's for xplane it would be interesting to see how it checks out. I Haven't looked yet but I intend to spend some time with it and see how it all works out. Here's the link http://www.pilotfriend.com/training/flight_training/fxd_wing/cessna152.htm Have fun - I know I will ;)

very difficult now that I got my new rig to run it :-) Just as I promissed, I tested xplane10 again, latest version available from xplane's headquarters. My rig is not top notch, but rather a simple i5 2500@3,3GHz and an ASUS GeForce GTS 450 1GB DDR3... Well, compared to my old system I can finally run xplane10 and give it a fair try... Now, I have a problem... I am really enjoying the outcome from my first test flights :-( Oops!.... Soooo.... I'll have to find room for both now .... better, for the 4 of them: FLIGHT, Condor, ELITE and!!! Xplane10... My first conclusion... We should be carefull about the platform we use to make our tests... Given …

Finally got the nerve up to start working on my PPL and when I went to sign up, one of the ole Aviators said I could come in and use the SImulator for a discount and I said sure, didn't really look at what gear/setup they had I just assumed it was an older version of X-plane. One of the things he did say was to him the simulator was way harder than flying a real plane. Which got me to thinking on the big debate between MSFS and XP's flight dynamics. Needless to say I'm no expert in either and I hope when I finish my first trainnig flight I will be able to say at least GA-wise which felt the closet. Been practicing SIM-wise in a Piper PA28s as I think I'm going to be using…

Does anyone know if there exists, in the X-Plane community, a master list of locations that have comprehensive coverage in OSM? I'm aware that Boston is pretty good, as are some locations in Europe, but that's all I know about. Not sure if this belongs here or in the General forum, as what I'm looking for is some good scenery locations to explore, but with an eye toward enhancing as WED 1.2 is finalized.

I want to upgrade the X-Plane Carenado C172N panel to be able to perform ILS approaches. I have never made any aircraft changes before. I was told by Carenado Support that I would find the answer in the forum but I have seached and found no help. Carenado told me I needed to, "You have to add CAB files and a panel file." Can someone point me to 1) where CAB files and panel files are located and 2) detailed instuctions for installing them. Thank you in advance for any help. Ibowhunt

If you have the DC3 from Leading Edge Simulations, there is a new cockpit livery available from Leen de Jager over at the org. The link is below. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=16393 If you don't yet have the DC3 I would advise you, do yourself a favor and get it, assuming you want a quality aircraft file in X-Plane.

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone had Inside Passage and related sceneries, found here: http://www.xplanefreeware.net/tom/InsidePassage/Home.html and what your opinions on it were. I've found a rekindled interest in bush flying in X-Plane's awesomely rendered mountainous regions, and this series of sceneries looks like it'll fit the bill nicely. I'm particularly interested in how it looks in X-Plane 10. The author has stated that the sceneries will work in it, but there are a few quirks that he's slowly working through to bring it up to speed. Things like mis-placed seaplane bases, and lighting. But what I'm interested in is the general consensus. How does it perform,…

Thinking of buying it. Just looking for some feedback on how good/bad the iPad version is of X-Plane. Is it lacking so many features from the PC version that it won't be much fun or challenge? Are there missions? Are the controls decent? Graphics really lack luster? Is there ATC or any procedural type content (true engine startup, permission to land, etc) in the game? Thanks in advance for any info on those that have played it.

I have been googling about scenery etc.I found a free program called Meshlab that will convert a .dae model (which is what google buildings uses) to a .obj model. I was able to import correctly the .dae in Meshlab and was able to save it as an .obj file. How do I get that .obj to appear in xplane scenery at this point-or is this whole process a waste of time? (By the way I was playing with importing to xplane2blender but couldn't get it to work-it couldn't find the script folder to install xplane2blender-I assume due to a newer blender program from when it was written....)Any ideas appreciated-to my simple mind it seems if I can import a google building into a program and …

Hi all, I hope I have the correct forum for this question. (Perhaps I should post over at x-plane.org?) I just bought X-Plane for iPad, and I'm enjoying it, but I'm wondering whether I can move the cockpit view at all -- e.g., look out the side windows. I've read through the manual, and it seems the only options for views are the 5-6 exterior views in the upper-left of the UI. That's OK, but it'd be nice to be able to look around from inside the cockpit. Thanks!
