Regarding the cdu and or fmc in Boeing aircraft, such as the X Plane 757 or 777, is there any user made company routes available somewhere? I am looking for routes that are complete all the way to auto land. I have the 757 and find the cdu a most complex,,,actually over complex,,,device and, to be honest, if this plane was in FSX I would slap a GTN 750 in that panel right now and forgo the torture and time required to work that antique device called a cdu.

So I installed world2xplane and followed the Quick start Guide for generating Switzerland. I downloaded and installed the required R2, FFLibrary and Open Scenery X. I run the program and it generates the switzerland-latest folder and I place it in the X-Plane Custom Scenery folder. I then load X-plane and close it. I open the scenery_packs file and move the SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/switzerland-latest/ to below the Airports. I then reload Xplane and I don't see any difference whatsoever! Any tips? Thanks

Hello, I'm really tempted right now to try X-Plane after yet another OOM in P3D. Is there anywhere that we can buy X-Plane with some sort of money back guarantee if we are not satisfied? How about an add on or two? If I did try X-Plane, I'd want to try it with a plane that I'd actually fly often. So, I'd probably buy either the JarDesign A320 or A330 to along with this "trial". If it doesn't perform like I'd expect, or offer me an experience that is at least as good as P3D, can I return any of these purchases? Thanks in advance. I am away from my XP10 sim PC, and using the vacation time to start thinking about things to try when I return to "work" :-) One of the subjects that was recently brought in another sim I was using, DCS, was the modeling of control stiffness. This characteristic can affect most non FBW aircraft, like the ww2 models included in that sim. Users were particularly interested in fine tuning of the control forces for instance in a Bf109 K4. The test flight data and pilot reports all mention the controls becoming rather stiff in roll, yaw and pitch above 650 km/h, so, instead of the virtual pilots being able to freely move them at whatever speed they were flying, and…

Just got an update notification and it installed a small update. Now shows 10.40. Not sure if anything got changed, but everything looks and runs the same as last beta (which was stable for me) This is good news for the Steam users. They should be getting the update soon if not already. Rob

Love the plane but way over my head so far. I am trying to figure out the cdu or fmc and want to know how to clear it completely so I can start over again. Only way I found was to load the plane again cold and dark but I would at least like to start off with the engines running and most items checked for this practicing.

I love the Carenado PC-12, but hate the panels night lighting. It was distractingly bright IMO. I am trying to adjust it to get it to be a little easier on the eyes and more realistic. I haven't found pics of what the real panel looks like at night, but my guess is its more subdued that what was provided. Anyway, I'm still tweaking it, but this is what I have so far. Has anyone else noticed in the 10.40 beta run that water reflection, even at low setting KILL FPS by 7-10FPS ? and introduce minor stutters? Ian

I really wanted to like XPlane. I had the demo and it worked great but now that I have the full version it runs much slower and stops every 2 or 3 minutes. Sometimes when it stops it loses about 5 or more frame rates when it gets going again. I have all settings at medium and have all Skymax settings on low or off and in cloudy or overcast weather I get about 15 to 22 fps with the payware Challenger 300 jet. I am running a GTX 980 full bore and overclocked i 7 5930 k and should be getting much better performance from this sim. I get twice the performance in FSX SE that I do in XPlane. Does this take a certain version OpenGL Nvidia driver or is there maybe s…

Compress textures OFF and ultra high resolution and, instead of lower frame rates I was surprised with faster loading times and actually a smoother ride, even landing at airports near crowded city areas like Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt... I was not maximizing the true potential of my GTX 969 4GB card :-)

Receantly I saw that X-Plane 10 has version 10.40 going through beta stages. My question is can I update my X-Plane 10 Steam version 10.30 something to the newest beta version and if so, how to do that? Thanks in advance Marko Lisica

This is X-Plane MeshTool tutorial part 1. This first video is a bit extense because I explain the tool, the features, the commmands, the softwares needed, how to obtain the datas and how to build the script file with polygons. Observation: The trees in the island are part of the scenery, not the mesh, and covered part of the landclass, sorry for that. Okay so I have installed AI traffic following the instructions in this link http://www.avsim.com/topic/437933-an-easy-guide-to-populating-x-plane-10-with-ai-aircraft-for-new-x-plane-users/ The A.I was working great when I was flying in the default 747 but when I use either of my payware aircraft (Jardesign A330 and FlighFactor 757) the AI just sit at the gate doing nothing and none of the aircraft in the air land either, have tried multiple airports with no joy. I'm trying to decide which is better? The RW A330 or the Jardesigns A330. I'm looking for systems depth,best VC and best frames. I'm new to XP but a life long flight simmer. Also how do these planes compare to the pmdg 777/NGX.

Sorry if this is a stupid post but I've just bought X-Plane yesterday, really enjoying X-Plane so far, shame there are so few study level aircraft but loving the fact I don't get any OOM. One issue that was bugging me was the night lighting brightness but I found instructions to fix this, one problem remained which was if you look at the airport lights at certain angles mainly the taxiway lights they disappear, is this normal behaviour in X-plane or is there a way to fix this? Just as an aid for any of you who may face this same "problem" I leave here my experience with the latest version - 1.8.0 - of the Flight Factor 777 I installed a couple of days ago... My installs are progressing. Having a 250 GB disk pretty much limitates what I decide to install, and X-Plane 10 is now the only sim sharing that disk with Aerowinx PSX, and, I am already making calculations for the number of photo sceneries and airports I will grab from the net before I get up to 80% disk space - the upper acceptbale limit for me :-) ( il2 bos is in the System disk.... :-) ) Well, but X-Plane 10 has always a lot to reveal and explore, and I took some time just trying out the physics of taxiing under strong x-winds, specially on taildraggers with free castoring tail wheel and those with a lockable one.
