I've been doing this, creating "shift" keys, in flightsims for years. When you use the shift button, the normal assigned functions will not happen in the sim. Instead new functions happen instead. Normal functions still happen when you don't use the shift key. My shift button in the Alpha is this one. It used to be Avionics Bus 2. What I did was assign both Avionics Busses to the left white rocker. Now when I move the left white rocker it turns on/off both busses, instead of just bus 1. I lost separate control of the avionics bus 2. But I gained 35 more buttons on the Alpha. (It comes with 35, now there's 70). New assign…

I'm having an odd display issue with my Saitek radio panel in MSFS. The controls (dials, selectors, buttons) always work fine, but I only get a working display during the occasional session - maybe one time in 10. I have the latest MSFS drivers and they're loading properly. Thinking it may be a USB power issue, I moved it to a powered hub but no change. And the oddest thing of all, when I use the panel test program, I see the same behavior the first time I run it, but the displays work fine every time after. Wait a few minutes and the behavior reverts back to no display on first run and fully working after. I'm mystified! Scott

Flat top stand for keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H4DMLVH Sloped stand. When you remove the yoke and leave the mountbase there is a doorknob shaped object in the middle of your desk where you might want to lay a keyboard. This back of this stand hooks on the "doorknob" which holds the sloped stand from sliding. Lay keyboard on sloped stand. 17" wide. Has two ledges in front to keep the keyboard from sliding forward off the sland. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZJ14XF7 ------------------ What I do, is use both at once. The legged stand over the yoke. The slopped stand velcroed to the top of the yoke. And keybaord just layed on the …

Finally my project to give the bad potentiometer infected Saitek Throttle Quadrant a second life is completed. I have produced three separate video to demonstration the conversion process by discarding the defective potentiometers and upgrade the Throttle Quadrant to a Hall Effect sensor version. Here are the links on YouTube: Part 1 of 3 - Disassembling a Saitek Throttle Quadrant Part 2 of 3 - install the HE sensors Part 3 of 3 - Testing and Calibration Thanks for watching.

The small size Cadet throttle could be ideal. If your quad is to the right of your throttle you could fit this small throttle on the left. A lot of things are easier moving your fingers instead of your hands. Especially in VR. Lots of hats and buttons. All of these type of fighter quads cost national governments millions of dollars to design them so ergonomic. I wiggle my fingers to get in and out of VR mode in MSFS. Out of VR to change graphic settings or whatever because the sim can crash when you do that in VR. Then snap the toggle and go back to VR.

Looking for some feedback on the Brunner CLS-E NG for anyone that uses it with MSFS 2020. Are there any compatibility issues with more bespoke aircraft like A2A Comanche and similar? I'm interested in picking one up but concerned about it not working fully with high fidelity aircraft in the sim.

I never found information on the internet to help regarding this situatiion I had, so I'm posting this just in case it helps someone else. YMMV I have the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant. I purched the Prodeskim 737 Pro Throttle package. I also use Spad.next to program all the switches. Here's my story: With the stock throttle levers, switch 10 is the reverse lever for engine 1. When I received the Prodskim levers, I installed them and all worked except the Engine 1 reverse thrust lever. I thought I received a defective lever. I opened a support ticket with Prodeskim who kindly sent a new lever. To my frustration, again, no reverse thrust for engine …

Was thinking about plunging into the Aerosoft Airbus realm but I have a quick question. I have the Saitek/Logitech gear as my primary inputs for simming (yoke, throttle, rudder pedals, radios, etc...). Will these work with the Airbus aircraft? If I absolutely have to, I can get a joystick. Just want to avoid blowing my budget for simming. Thanks!

Hello guys. I am venturing into sim gaming and am deciding on my controllers. Originally, I was going to go with the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight stick. It has most of the controls needed to start playing. After some more researching and thinking. I have changed my mind and now eyeing on the Honeycomb lineup. This will probably be a better choice for me since down the road I will most likely be upgrading my controllers. Yes, the Honeycomb do cost more but I have read many say the price is reasonably since the quality of build is up there. Also, it will save me storage space since I do not have a lot of extra space around the home to store unwanted controllers. …

My EFIS range knob has seen too much use, and is jumpy. I would like to replace it, and can use a soldering iron. Have you done this? Do you have a Mouser or DigiKey part number that will work? Much appreciated! They make great products but their support is rubbish. Carl

A few weeks ago I suddenly started seeing my mouse cursor moving steadily from the left to right side of my monitors all by itself (a brand new 'amusement' provided for me by my PC; I never know what it's going to conjure up next!). It was still usable but went back to its trek across the screen when I left the mouse alone. Took a while to discover that it was caused by the X52 - if I unplug it and then back in again the cursor stops its movement. (I am talking about my main mouse here, not the cursor on the X52 itself). I thought I'd solved it - it seemed to happen mostly if I woke the PC up from standby mode. But now it happens on and off (not all the time, thank go…

So I do like the Thrustmaster Airbus sidestick, and am looking to prolong the life of my FSX until MSFS24 arrives. I got the Thrustmaster Airbus throttle to pair with the stick, to enhance the experience. I can't get the thing to work at all. The manual is confusing, and my attempts at getting help from Thustmaster support have them insisting on me shooting a video that I lack the ability to do. They are also refusing to issue a refund authorization. This is very poor customer service, and I will be taking the lack of a return authorization to my state's attorney general. The community deserves to know about my experience. Thrustmaster must be made to bear the pain…

Re; Yoke forces: Does anyone here know, or can direct me to a resource, what forces (say in Nm) are on the yoke when flying any/all of the following aircraft at cruise speed? This for the pitch as well as roll resistance. - ATR 72 - King air (any version: 200 +) - Baron p58 I know, these are not likely something that most members would have laying around at hand! Thanks all, Brian

I am new to the hobby and just bought a Saitek X52 off FB for $30. Seller nicely included a control box. "Not working." Can anyone ID anything about this? I'm planning on running FS9 and it would be cool to have something to control altitude and heading on AP. If I can't get it wired up correctly how difficult would it be to mount new banks of digital knobs?

If you are like me (prefer plug and plug over having to learn what feels like coding 101), just got the Black Square Duke and want to assign some axis using Axis and Ohs since there is no input configurator to do so, here is a what should be a helpful video that is short, focused and to the point to get Axis and Ohs set up to work for the Duke.

Has anyone had both Turtle Bay and VKB HOTAS that can give me an opinion between the two? These are both in my price range. I have been away from flight sims for a number of years and there is so much more to choose from now. I do not want to spend $$ on the low-end products, but want to make an informed decision on my purchase since I am choosing higher end (priced) products. I would definitely appreciate any serious advice.

Hi all, pretty close to picking out MFG crosswinds to replace a very old and set of Saitek Cessna rudder pedals. From what I've read, I want the damper kit and then need to make up my mind between having feet on the pedals (default Me109s) or feet on the floor. I'm going to sidestep the conundrum by ordering a 2-pack of pedals. Question is, they have an 'Airbus' footrest and I cannot really find anyone that has bought them and commented. Anyone? I suppose for me I will pick up the 109s, then add either the combat pedal or the Airbus one. I'm mostly a tube flier but expect to branch out much further to fly my GA and helis with these much improved new pedals.
