HI there!, I am relatively new to AVSIM and have been out of the flight sim loop for quite some time being mostly focused on racing sims. My past experience in both types of sims has taught me that I typically find myself disappointed if I am not using decent gear, but I am also don't like to waste money. For example, when when I first got into flight sims I purchased a CH yoke and pedals and although they were a good bargain, I found the spring noise in the pedals and the "stiction" of the yoke to really have a negative impact on the overall enjoyment of the sim. I am presently considering getting a decent yoke (most likely a PFC) and am considering rudder pedals.…

Hi guys, I was very lucky and got a leap motion for Christmas. I have been dying to try it out on my flight simulator, but am having some difficulties with figuring out the best way to utilise it and I was hoping that someone he has some experience they would like to share. My first impulse was to use is as a simple mouse emulator. The concept is quite simple, you move your hand around over the sensor to control the mouse pointer on the screen. This approach has two drawbacks: 1. it is a bit imprecise and it quickly gets tiring to hold your hand in the air while figuring out the pointing. 2. The mouse emulation did not seem to work well with my P3D 2.4 installat…

I have recently updated my computer setup and have purchased Prepar3d v 2.5. I have several Saitek modules (TPM, Trim Wheel, Flight Yoke System and Combat Rudder Pedals. All is working well, after configuration. What a great look on P3D with 3 monitors in surround. I need some help with how to get my Saitek Switch Panel and 2 GoFlight GF-166A's and a GF-MCP wotking. I installed the drivers properly i think, but am not sure. On computer startup, the lights on the 166A's flash but nothing with the Switch Panel. I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit. I have a new registered version of FSUIPC and it shows in P3D.. I recall something about an Exe.xml file from FSX use. Ca…

Hello all. I just finished my sim pit and am working now at setting it up and fixing all the small issues, but one has me puzzled. I have a Saitek multi panel with the flap switch connected to a powered usb hub and am setting up the A2A 172. Just using SPAD and not FSUIPC, which I do have the registered version, it worked the first time I tried, but would only go from 10-20 degrees, and once in maybe 10-15 tries to 30, but never to zero. I saw that FSUIPC seemed to have a way to set up flaps under Joystick Controls, but it seemed confusing so I avoided it. I tried to set up through FSUIPC Axis and Keystrokes, but it wouldn't recognize the flap switch. I got into SPAD and …

I recently replaced my saitek yoke as it was still under warranty, the reason being was because, it was randomly switching off and on within a few seconds. So i sent it away for a renewal. Few weeks into having my new saitek, tonight it switched off and on again. I have disabled that power management option. I'm running FSX, OS 7 Asus Z87-A i74770k

Looks like I'm going to have to replace my yoke for the FORTH time!!!!! Yoke AND throttles are dying on me;-( To be fair, I do generally use my FS system for several hours a day, 365 days a year, and have been doing so since around 1996;-) I thought i might try the Saitek 'Cessna' yoke this time, but have a question.... I see the Cessna model turns a full 90 degrees, and that's twice as far as the normal Saitek Pro yoke. In theory it should, but does this really translate to better or finer control when making small adjustments? No dount the usual Saitek 'binding' issue occurs when applying small amounts of both axis simultaneously? Thats a design flaw an…

Hi, I have problems with the Saitek hat switch in P3D. How do I set it up to look around in different directions? I am using P3D 2.4, only unregistered FSUIPC, no EZDOK or TrackIR. I tried assigning different views (looks) under "buttons" in the settings controls menu, but am only able to assign one direction. With FSX it is working fine just after plugging in. Any help appreciated Thanks Perry

I play quite a lot of PC games other than FSX, although NEVER online. Mostly FPS type games. I want a new keyboard setup, and also a gamepad type thing for my left hand, with a thumb button for movement. I like the look of the Razor gaming pads, this sort of thing... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Razer-Tartarus-Expert-membrane-Gaming/dp/B00ELGHM8C Only I'm not sure about whether I should be using 'mechanical' or 'membrane' type buttons. It seems there are many views on this, some a little more err.... heated than others;-) What are your views and experience with this kind of kit for gaming in general? And what are your views about the keypad construction type? Cheer…

Hopefully I'm in the right hardware section, but I have a strange question for the AVSim community. I just recently purchased the Pro Flight Cessna Yoke, however the mounting clamp is really large and I had to unmount my keyboard tray (which sits in the middle of my desk). I'm wondering what everyone else does with their keyboard for flight sims? I don't really want to keep removing and adding my keyboard tray (since it's a screw mount). Does anyone have anything fancy like an articulating arm tray that they can push aside when flying?

All of my other Saitek panels are working in Steam Edition, just not the Instrument Panels. I tried copying the exe.xml from C:/Users/(your name)/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX over to C:/Users/(your name)/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX-SE. This gets FSX-SE to ask me if I want to run directoutput at startup to feed the panels. I click yes.. in FSX the panels immediately respond and display instruments. In FSX-SE I am getting no such response. Any ideas? Thanks, Dustin

OK, both sides of my toe brakes are engaging at random times. Makes taxiing a bit difficult. I've checked both pots and they seem OK and connections tight. FSUIPC shows little random spikes as the assembly simply sits in place wth nothing touching it. My thinking is that perhaps Windoze joystick calibration is conflicting somehow. I saw a post that mentioned a way to clear all that out but there were no specifics so, I'm a bit lost on the subject. Anyne know how to go about this or can point me to a link or such?

Hi I was setting up my Ifly B737 and must have set something wrong on my Overhead Panel. I have Saitek Rudder Pedals and they have been working perfectly until I made a change in the Overhead Panel switches. I don't know what I did but now my rudder pedals do not work. If I zoom in in the cockpit to the pedals, I can see the pedals are not moving in the view or in the Spot view either. I was setting the Overhead to shutdown then startup and I must have set something incorrect. I have reset the rudder command in FSUIPC but nothing works. Any help to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thx, Thomas

I have a Saitek pro flight yoke as my controller along side the rudder pedals. I run fsx on Windows 8 and never had a problem until now. Recently my yoke has been responding in fsx and then just stops responding all of a sudden mid flight. It seems to happen usually when I switch program like say I go on google to try and find charts, and I go back into the sim and it's no longer responding. it also does it sometimes even without a change of programs! I have tried uninstalling the drivers and re-installing them. I have tried a bunch of things but nothing has worked. By the way the rudder and throttle quadrant become unresponding at the same time as the yoke. A…

taxiing along, suddenly the airplane swerves and the "Deferential Brake" text flashes. I did some looking in FSUIPC and I see that both left and right toe brakes as sending very fast spurious signals. Other than getting a new set of pedals or disassembling these to try and clean things up, is there a work around that anyone has come up with? I've tried setting the toe brake values so that they shouldn't engage until they are pressed about 1/4 of the way but, those signals are still applying the brakes at the wrong times.

Hi all, Currently have a few different hardware throttles collected over the years but I am looking for one that doesn't use a 'button' at the end of the throttle travel to initiate reverse thrust / beta I know that technically you can set up a throttle with a reverse zone in FSUIPC, but I really wanted a hardware 'stop' where you have to move the throttle into a new area to initiate reverse / beta Does such a throttle exist? PFC looks promising with the turboprop quadrant.......

I was experimenting with some Nvidia drivers. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, and did so in the proper way. After uninstalling from control panel, I also booted into safe mode and ran Display Driver Uninstaller utility just to be safe. I did this a couple of times and everything installed as it should. Unfortunately, the last time, something must have gotten messed up in the Windows Registry. Even though I only ever install the Nvidia Display Driver and PhysX, and not Nvidia User Experience, there is this component called nvxdsync.exe, the Nvidia User Experience Driver Component, that wants to start up with Windows. This is apparently an essential…

After my old CH Rudder pedals deteriorated to the point where I would have uncommanded differential braking on one pedal and very unsmooth braking on the other I have finally made the switch to Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals. In Sweden, where I live, you can return the product within 14 days, if you are not satisfied, for a full refund. I would like to ask some questions to other Combat Rudder pedal users to see if I have received a good item or if I should return it. The first positive of the controller is that I can finally have functioning RTO braking on the PMDG aircrafts, which was an impossibility before because of the faulty CH pedals. 1. With the tension …
