I downloaded the new DirectX runtime updates 2/5/10http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=enAlso updated my Nvidia drivers to the newest version. Now nhancer doesn't work with FSX anymore. I went back to my old video drivers, reinstalled nhancer, but nhancer is still not working in FSX.Starting to wonder if the new runtime updates are compatible with nhancer. Anyone get them to work together?

Dear all,I build my own system and running Windows Vista system builder license (OEM), this is the brief spec. of my system: Q6600 CPU running at 3.2 GHz, 4 GB ram and 9600GT video card. Two questions:(1) does anybody know if I can upgrade my graphic card without violating license agreement? I know I can not change CPU under this license.(2) I'm planning to upgrade to ATI 4890 card. will this upgrade help FSX performance? Thanks! Charles , KDTW

HiI have an Nvidia GTX 260 and play FS9. The problem is that the sim is unsmooth if 60 FPS is not reached. If the FPS is locked at 60, it works very well if the computer can keep that value. If the FPS is locked to a lower value, 30 for example, the sim is stuttering, but the FPS is still stable and kept at 30. Also setting it to Unlimited makes the same problem.I'm quite sure that the problem is because of my video card (GTX 260), had a 7900GTX before, and bought the GTX 260 a few months ago. I have tried with new PSU (Corsair 650W), new CPU (Phenom II X4 3.2 GHz) , new RAM (4GB) , and new HD (WD caviar black), and still having this problem. I've also tried many drivers,…

Hey guys,Just wondering if anyone on here has the HP DV4-1430us Intel Core Duo notebook with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD?I don't know much about the specs, but I do know I'd like to have a crisp display and experience while running FS9.Would my best bet be to just purchase a external graphics card?Any advice/ assistance would be be greatly appreciated!

I took my computer apart to put in a new E8600 and some water cooling, and without thinking I gave my new Sapphire 5870 a shot with a can of compressed air which did blow some significant amount of dust out of it, but now it doesn't work AT ALL. It doesn't show the BIOS logo screen or system boot up, it doesn't even change the monitor power LED color from yellow (stand by) to green (OK). The computer fully boots as though the card is OK as I can hear the Windows start up music as the it goes all the way through the boot process -- but no video on my monitors whatsoever. Is there anything you guys think I can do to get my video to display again, and get my new card woki…

I upgraded my PC a while back, which I never had any problems with, to a new one which is driving me nuts. I believe I'm running out of video memory, as panels and textures disapear.I have a GeForce GTX 275, Q8400 CPU, 4gb of mem.Does anyone have any tips on reducing the chances of this happening? Changing FSX detail settings doesn't seem to help much.I've heard disabling the onboard sound and getting a seperate soundcard can help, I just can't afford that right now.

Hi,I've been writing in another topic about problems with my XFX GTX 260 in both FS9 and FSX. Some kind of V-sync problem that is causing stuttering and short freezing. If I was to buy a new card in the same price range as the GTX 260, which one do you recommend? Mainly to be used for FS9 but maybe I'll start fly some VFR in FSX. Suggestions for both Nvidia and ATI cards are welcome, but I know that Nvidia seems to perform better when it comes to FS, right?Or, can someone say another brand of the GTX 260 that works good in FS?Thanks

I'm trying once again to get ATI's Catalyst team to fix several long-standing issues with FS9 and FSX on their cards - these are: CCC forced AF and Adaptive AA not working Seams/tears through GDI+ gauges in FSX The heavy cloud cover performance issuesI've offered them access to any PMDG aircraft for testing fixes.I've started a thread on the AMD Game forums, which the driver team does read, so what I'd ask here is that people go and add their support to the initiative by posting in the thread so that they see it's not just one person requesting fixes here.http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm...p;enterthread=yThanks everyone, fingers crossed!EDIT:If you don't want to…

Hello everyone,I was doing a flight last night on FS2004 (on WinXP Pro 32-bit) and I got that rare occurrance of the STOP ERROR (BSOD / blue screen) referring to the NV4_DISP.DLL driver. This error has occurred on my new PC since I got it but only once in a blue moon, and only with FS2004. I looked through the forums here and found a few possible explanations and also found something in the NVIDIA support database which may of help to some people, even though the Nvidia article refers to another game (not FS). Here is the link to the Nvidia KB article:http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia....amp;p_topview=1I actually have not tried the suggestion yet. But I will t…

So I have a FS9 machine, basically a e8500 overclocked to about 3.4ggz which had a 8800GT but I decided to upgrade because I purchased a 24" LCD and the 8800GT wasn't keeping up with the higher res. I purchased the ATI 5770 because it was the best bang for the buck card out there and all the reviews looked great. I received the card last week, did a fresh install of Windows XP, loaded the drivers and went into FS9. The FPS increased by 50% which was quite impressive but the problems slowly started creeping up...First of all, the textures where shimmering and looked horrible. I did a lot of searching on google and on this forum to address this issues and played around with…

I just purchased a new BFG 9800gt 1G meme and its not as fast as my old 7900GT, the only thing I can note is that is does not require as much power as my older card and I am just running FS-9 about 98% of the time. I hgave tried a few driver sets and not much difference. Has anyone found similar issues or does anyone have this card that works well with FS and if so what drivers are you using. Thanks Shayne

Hi AllI hope someone here can help meBefore Xmas I purchased a ASUS GTX-285 Matrix , 1gb Video Card to replace the BFG9800gtx I have in my system. My current rig is has Intel Q6600 Quad 2.8 , 4gb on a ASUS P5-nd Mother board with Antec Trupower 850 watt PSU and the Nvidia 195.62 drivers. I have 4 x LG Monitors 19"off a analogue Matrox THGO, running @ 3840 x 1024 and 1440 x 900 resp.In either FS2004 or FSX when ever I run active sky , add real world weather , do an outside view or approach a Aerosoft mega Airport my machine just shuts down dead. I added some temp software to monitor the GPU and CPU temps , but on shutdown everything is within tolerances.I have done some re…

All:I've had a 24-inch monitor for a few months now; I'm running an E6600 at 2.4GHz, 2 GB RAM and a 8800GTS with 320MB RAM. Needless to say, my machine struggles to run FS9 in native 1920x1200 - it can actually drop *below* 1 fps - such that it's just not worth it. So, what's the bottleneck? The GPU, the CPU or just the whole rig? Would getting *only* a new GPU make FS9 run smoothly (if so, how smoothly?) at native resolution? If so, what GPU - GTX275 any good?Looking forward to your thoughts.Nicolas in CYOW

Hi everyone,Having some problems recently with panel, cloud etc textures at night which I did not have on my previous XPS M1710 laptop...i now have a M1730 and everything is fine with the exception of panel and cloud textures being the most noticeably poor when flying at night. My specs:Vista Home Premium SP2 64bit, Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, FS9.1, 2 Nvidia 9800M GT SLI 512mb each, 179.24 driversAny help much appreciated :)Henry

I am one or those Nvidia users who had disappointing results with Nvidia drivers later than 182.50. I stopped trying new Nvidia drivers 2 or 3 months ago, but I am wondering if any of the very newest Nvidia drivers ever solved the problem. Has anyone with the 182.50 issue tried any of the very newest Nvidia drivers? How did they work out?GeoffreyQ6600, 8800 Ultra, XP Pro SP3, FSX Acceleration

Hi there, has someone experienced that with the new NVidia driver (196.21), some gauges do not update? Well, they do, when you switch from full screen to windowed mode or back, but only then and only once. Apart from that, their state isn't redrawn. This is true for the standard FSX gauges and those from Reality XP.Or am I the only one to see this strange behaviour?

im having a problem with images displaying right. All images i view on my computer seem to look like they're in 16bit mode, and yes im running everything in 32bit trude color mode. I've tried everything i can think of to fix this problem. I've re-installed windows 7 32bit. that didn't work. So i thought maybe it was my graphic card. went out and bought a new one and of course no luck. I have no clue whats going on. one day everything was fine the next day this issue. ive even tried different monitors. im lost. any suggestions? mel

For years, I've been running triple monitors & views with 2 monitors on the AGP video card and a 3rd mon on a same type PCI card. Works very smoothly even with my 6 year old system.Sadly, space limitations may eventually require that I revert to only dual monitors. For idle curiosity, I've been experimenting with two monitor performance using- A: two monitors on the AGP card B: one monitor each on the AGP and PCI cards.(Identical screen views for each test.)The result is that B: one monitor on each card, shows a distinct frame rate gain versus both monitors on the AGP card. The frame rate gain seems to range from about 10-33%- depending on what is being displayed. ---…

Hello everybody,Probably a stupid question and, for now, without consequences for my flying but I am still curious.I run Fs9.1 on Windows 7 64bit, Intel E8500 o'clocked to 4.10 Ghz, 4 Gb RAM, Nvidia 275 GTX...To tweak the drivers I use, like so many, Nhancer (64bit version). Now, I have checked in both the 'general' section and the 'profile' the Vsync option.Since I use a monitor with a refresh rate of 60 Mhz, I would assume that the framerate in Fs9 would be limited to the refresh rate of the monitor. In my setup that would be 60.However, when I enable the framerate counter in Fs9 and I set my hardware to unlimited, I still get a framerate way above 60....Is there somethi…

Hey PeoplesNot sure if this is the right section of the forums to ask this.....I recently got a PC and I have been using my 42" lcd TV as the monitor via HDMI. I use the DVI->HDMI adaptor that came with my GTX285. Anyways so I've been playing flightsim and what not and everything is looking great at 1900x1200 / 1080p. Yesterday I disconnected the HDMI and connected up a VGA cable to the same TV with the DVI->VGA adaptor. It was running at 1600x1200 and the quality was amazing!! Everything was so much clearer and had more color to it. Alot sharper. Am I doing something wrong :( ??? I thought HDMI was meant to be the newer technology and VGA was meant to be crap... ?…

Hi,I have spent a lot of time reading many posts about the VC night textures in FSX.Just recently I have installed FSX on my new W7 computer with wide screen monitor (2048x1152) and nVideo GTX240. My first flights were during daytime so I had not noticed it, but than yesterday I wanted to fly at night. So far I have only been flying the default 738 just to see if I should abandon my fully loaded FS9 and switch to FSX completely. When I loaded the 738 the VC was missing. It was there when I switched to daytime, but gone at night. So were the plane textures. I could only see the wings, ailerons and wheels. I had just installed the SDK as well and feared that was the culprit…
