Hi Gang.I have a somewhat Older system now, and I fully realise this, but with this in mind I was hoping to get some suggestions regarding my GPU and CPU.I have an ABIT Max3 Motherboard and a Intel P4 3.0 GHz HT Processor and a Gainward Geforce 7800 GS graphics card that has 512 on board RAM.My system is Win XP Pro with 2 Gigs of RAM and a Hercules Digifire sound card. My PSU is a 1100 Watt Supply.I pretty much just use this as a gaming rig for FS and Joint ops etc, but, I was wondering if you had any suggestions about "beefing up" the Graphics Card.I was looking for something that would run FS with a little more horse power, maybe a 1BG on-board card of some type. Hi There,To those that are running on the new catalyst 9.12 drivers from Ati, what are your thoughts? Have you see any improvements over the 9.11 or have the new drivers introduced problems that werent in the previous release. Interested to hear how others are finding the latest driver.

I have ATI4850 (512Mb), Q9550 (stock 2.8Ghz) and 2Gb RAM. I run FS9 at 1920x1200 with NO AI, no autogen.Whenever the view is toward some cumulus cloud the FPS drop to 15 or so. Otherwise they are stable at locked 30 (i.e. 29.9).Is this due to the ATI card? I had one post previously about switch to new card. If it is ATI and nVidia does not suffer from this, would move to GTX260 be good?Thank you all!Aleks

I just bought a nividia gtx 260 video card. I tried to install int but not sure if my computer will handle it. I have a gateway dx4200-09 amd quad core. I looked for another power supply but could only find one. Am I out of luck with this card. I'm really going to be sas if I just spent 200 dollars for nothing. Any help would be great. Thanksanthony

I see Nvidia just released the 195.62 drivers. Please comment on the installation and running in FSX for Windows 7. I would love to hear from someone who has upgraded to these drivers. Are they worth installing? Do they make a real difference? Thanks.Stan

My Nvidia 8800GT currently has a driver; 8.15.11.8627 dated 26-06-2009.Since everyone is talking about the 195.62 dated 26-11-09 I tried to get Vista to update to this one.But it keeps telling me the old one is the best up to date driver for my card.Does Microsoft update only allow the update after they tweek them for Vista? Or do I have to uninstall what is in use first and install the 195.62 manually? If so what is the point of the Vista auto process? I find this delving into things I don't understand a nightmare.I would be grateful for any help.rhha

Hi,Today I downloaded the latest version of GPU-Z and noticed when running FSX only approx 450 MB of my 1 GB memory I have on my GTX285 card was used. Is there a way (maybe with some tweak or similar in FSX.CFG) you can force FSX to make better use of the graphics card and it's memory?

Sometimes while I'm at the load a flight screen, or occasionally during flight, I get a black screen for about 1 second. It recovers and this message appears briefly: "Display driver nVidia windows kernel mode driver version 191.07 stopped responding and has recovered successfully".My specs are: core i7 920 o/c to 3.77 gHz with Asetek liquid cpu cooler, EVGA GTX285 1GB video with 191.07 driver, EVGA X58 Micro mobo.Peak temps are under 50C, and I have a 750 watt PSU. hi all,has anyone experienced this? while playing FSX sometimes the monitor screen will go blank with a "monitor is working input 1 no signal" msg. on the screen. (it is normal to see this screen when i "cold boot" the system. i always turn the monitor on b4 turning on the PC). also, when this happens the pwr. switch light on the monitor has gone from green to amber. I know there is some discussion here and there on this, however just a quick overview of what potential uses I could put my 2nd x16 slot into service with a retired 8800GT. Could anybody tell me how I go about setting up an additional monitor to my 24" dell that I recently purchased. My wife gave me a 19" LG LCD Flatron monitor and I have it mounted to the left of my 24" monitor. I have a 8800GT graphics card with 2 DVI inputs and I'm wondering if I should plug the 19" monitor's DVI cord into the additional DVI that I have on the back of my 8800 GT Video card. After I plug that in....assuming that that's the correct setup, how do I get just a LEFT VIEW or 45 Degree view from the cockpit. I would want to use the 24" monitor as the main cockpit view and the 19" monitor for my 45 Degree left hand view. Is this possible, and if so, how do you go…

I have a single 19" monitor, running FS9 on an older Win XP SP3 system. Many months ago when I installed FS9 my AGP card was a Radeon 7000 (64MB). To delay the expense of buying a real gaming system I recently replaced the card with an nVidia GEForce 6200 (256MB). Hey everyoneIve been using fs9 on the ol laptop for the last few years and finaly upgraded to i7 with the intention of playing FSX :) Just waiting on everything to arrive. Anyways Ive gotten an "evga gtx285 2gb ftw" video card and I was wondering can I plug 2 monitors in (1 in each port) to get the widescreen effect in fsx like you get with the triplehead2go ? Hi all,I have recently updated my Nvidia GeForce 6200's drivers to the 195.62 version, and I have noticed that the individual settings in the 'manage 3D settings - program settings' menu, for things like anti-aliasing, aren't having an effect in the simulator.Why could this be? An override?Thanks.

I don't know how I managed to do this but I now have duplicate nvidia control panels. I've tried uninstalling the drivers but both control panels still remain. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of the duplicate?

I'm running a triple monitor setup right now on a TH2G through an nVidia 9800 GT 1GB video card (so it's got a free dvi port). I've been looking at small monitors (less than 12") and found a couple that could work (for example, a Coby 12" that's also a tv for $100), and a couple of touchscreens like the liliput 7 - 9 inch models (though it sounds like those can be blurry at the supposedly higher supported resolutions.) Hi,I have a laptop with a GT130M graphics card onboard. I've installed the NVidia drivers 195.62 under Win7 64 Home premium. I'm running FS9 and I have the frame rate locked at 35. What I'm experiencing is a lot of fluctuating frame rates. FS9 runs at 35 frame rates and then it suddenly drops to below 10, after a short while (anything from 5 to 10 seconds) it will pop up again to the upper 20's and then go back up to 35 frame rates.I've tried to play around with the TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT and TextureMaxLoad settings in FS9.cfg. Hello to All,I bought a brand new HP quad core q8300 system with 8Mb memory, 750 G hard drive. I do not like the graphic card that came with it. it is that intel integrated graphics card 512 mb. I tried fsx with it and I get a really low frame rate and lots of stuttering and I do not have everything maxed out.

I have two GeForce 9800 GTX+ cards currently and I run 4 monitors to fly the PMDG 737-700 under FS2004 without any issues. I see that the folks at Proflight have announced the new CDUII which looks great. I see it requires a video output to run the screen on the device. I can't imagine I would need anything too heavy duty to make that work from a video card perspective.If I place a low end PCI card in and attach it only to that device, is there any issues with having multiple brands/models of video cards installed on one PC? The Zalman display is true 3D, drivers are by Nvidia, some 3D games are great on it.FSX is one of the 100 games on their compatibility list.Has anyone tried running FSX or FS9 on one of these?I know the Zalman is highly regarded for 3D video and pictures. Such as displaying photos and videos from the new Fuji W1 digital point and shoot camera (3D).
