Do I need to uninstall and use driver sweeper, then download & install the driver again? Also what about nhancer, how do I handle that.Greatly appreciate your help

Here's one for the books. I have a 10" touch screen, flat panel monitor connected to one of the DVI outputs on an NVidia 9800GTX+. The cable is DIV to VGA. The Windows7 operating system indicates that this monitor is 17". Video signals sent to this monitor only partially display - half is cut off. Screen resolution is 800x600 and cannot be increased because the monitor displays an "out of range" message. Can anyone tell me how I can correct this problem. Note: The 9800 has the most current driver installed.ThanksFrank

Hi there. I've just recently build a new system for FSX that consists of an i5 750 @ 3.8 - 4.0GHz, 4Gb 1600MHz CAS 8 RAM and Win 7 64bit. I carried over my old GPU which is a XFX 9800GT "xXx" Edition. I know that FSX is more CPU bound than anything but I still feel the need for a GPU update. The resoultion I run at is 1920 x 1080. I also have a budget of

Hello,I presently use a 6 computers network to run fs 2004Using 3 computers to obtain 5 external views (with Wideview) and the 3 others to run programms such as project magenta, Itra software end maxivistaI like using 5 external view since it give me a 180 degre wich is very immersive and help me pratice a lot since i am a private pilot flying a pa32r-300 and a pa28-140.the views are: front, 45 degre left and right, 90 degre left and right (undock view (virtual cockpit) allows me to get a very similar view than the real airplane. The problem with wideview are: traffic and meteo synchro and scenery have to be download on each computer.Considering the new technology and Mat…

I was reading an article about the 5970, (don't confuse it with the 5870 which is what most people have, and what came out first and is still a very good card that beat the GTX 285) and I was trying very hard but I could not keep my jaw from dropping. This just from two sources but the results are amazing, and the overclockability with increased performance from overclocking is more than stunning. I recommend you read the guru3D article first.Link: http://www.techspot.com/review/221-ati-rad...5970/page4.htmlhttp://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5970-review-test/14To people that want to bash you should probably read one of my previous posts first:http://forums1.avsim.net…

I recently installed a new flight planner, FSCommander X. When I drag it to the second monitor and start up FSX all goes well until I switch FSX to full screen mode. At that point the flight planner monitor goes blank. The only way I can view the planner's moving map while flying is not to use full screen (with all of the attending performance issues).I haven't found any display settings that correct the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.KeithBTW, my video card is the NIVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT (1GB).

Folks, somewhat of an FSX newbie here. I have two monitors and would like to know if there is any way to force FSX to use only the primary display in full screen mode. At the moment, if I wish to use the secondary display for non-FSX content while flying, I am forced to run FSX in windowed mode.Any help/pointers are much appreciated. Much thanks in advance.

Does anyone here use FSX with an ATI/AMD 5800 series graphics card and Windows XP?I was running Windows 7 but for various reasons I decided to go back to XP for a little while (until I get my solid state drive...)I installed everything including the latest drivers for everything (catalyst 10.2 for the 5850) and did all Windows Updates etc. I'm getting graphical glitches in FSX now. Untextured squares appearing in the terrain, parts of my AC's model disappearing at random, etc. Definitely didn't get these problems in 7.I read a few months ago when the 5800 series was new that the XP drivers were buggy, and I guess that may be the case, but hopefully someone here might have…

I have a 3 screen set up, Portrait-Landscape-Portrait, with resolutions of 1080x1920, 1920x1080, 1080x1920. They are set up properly in the NVidia control panel with the centre monitor at 1920x1080 as the primary. I have winXP 32, SP3, NVidia 182.5 drivers, and Acceleration.I deleted the FSX.cfg, and then installed the latest SoftTH as per the readme. I set up the softTH cfg with the required additions for FSX, and made other adjustments according to my system. Then I started up FSX, and configured the settings, setting a resolution of 4080x1080x32, and exited fsx. Then I went into the FSX cfg file and set wide screen = True. Then I opened FSX again, and it opened up on the…

I just managed to get V-Sync to work reliably on my ATI (Gigabyte) 5870, on Vista 64 with the Catalyst 10.2 drivers. The trick was to use ATI Tray Tools (V1.6.9.1472, from www.guru3d.com) to build a profile for FSX, and then run FSX from the ATT dropdown menu. In the Direct3D Tweaks tab, check "Force VSync (Vista Workaround) box and UNcheck the "Force to use triple buffers" box. FWIW, the other settings in the profile I use are:Anti-Aliasing: 4X/Wide-tentAdaptive AA checkedSS Mode: QualityMS Mode: 2AF: Quality with Trilinear/16XEnable High Quality AF is checkedTexture Preference: High QualityMipMap Detail level: High QualityWait for Vertical Sync: Always OnCatalyst AI: h…

Okay, short but sweet, I hope.Have a GT220, I gig memory, driver ver 191.07Windows XP, FS9E8400 Dual Core, 3.00Which software/hardware takes precedence in the scheme of the graphics settings.I have and use Nhancer and have tried to follow the advice of "how to use it" here on this board. in fact prior to upgrading my GPU, it was fine. The Nvidia Control Panel settings are set to the best of my knowledge. The ingame settings are pretty much max'd out.I have been playing around with the settings and checking the results each time, jaggies are ever present, but which device should I change the settings on to try and improve?Am thinking to roll back tpo the 182.08 drivers, as t…

I'm running MSFS2004 on:a Dell Dimension 8400 3.6ghz processor (admittedly several generations removed from today's latest and greatest CPUs), w/4GB RAM running WinXP sp3 using NVidia 7950GT overclocked w/512mb RAM running 3-21" monitors (via TripleHead2Go) at 3840X1024 and 1 17" monitor from the video card's second head at 1024X768. I am using 9 GoFlight units and CH yoke, throttles, pedals. Finally use TrackIR. I have lots of complex airport scenery and many complex aircraft.......but the sim runs with reasonably good/adequate framerates for my purposes. In FS9 I set the FPS limit to 25 and when I run the most complex scenery I have (Fly Tampa's Kai Tak and Portland) …

Guys,I am about to upgrade to the 285 and needed some advice and was hoping somebody here owns one of these. The reason I decided to go with BFG Tech is because they have a step up program that allows you to trade in your card within the first 100 days of ownership and step up to the latest card paying the only the difference in cost between the two cards. I contacted their technical support to verify that if I purchased a 285 today, I could trade up to the next gen Nvidia card in the next 100 days. I get the benefit of getting a new card now and seeing how the reviews go with the new nvidia card which is due to be released at the end of the month. Some of you may ask "Wh…

Is there some way to extract the latest nVidia Control Panel without actually installing the driver? After recently solving my texture corruption issue on my GTX 260 by replacing v196.21 with v182.50, I noticed that the older version of Control Panel that came with the older driver doesn't have the ability to save desktop color setting profiles. (I want to create a 'night flight' profile for my LDC monitor.) I can't remember if the v196.21 driver installation routine has an option for selecting only certain components or not, but I didn't want to chance continuing with the installation and causing myself more headaches. Also, I don't think there's anyway around this but, j…

I just built a new system and have been happily enjoying the best flight simming experience of my life until...The killer BSOD.Just before the shutdown, fs9 will freeze although sounds will continue to play, then the BSOD appears and it's game over. This has only happened when running tileproxy, never over my custom photoscenery areas. Of note also, I spent many hours flying throughout the southern California area with no problems. The problem surfaced after about thirty minutes of flying over the Las Vegas, NV area, when I would get texture corruption of clouds and ground tiles (see pics). Now the same thing is happening in southern California. It would seem a driver iss…

My old 8800Gt videocard just failed and I would like to hear suggestions for a cost effective new videocard to buy. I also wan't opinions on why my videocard failed. I have noticed that it runs unusually hot compared to for example the CPU. When it failed the screen wen't black and when starting the computer from cold it made a loud noice and no display at all. The failure occured during gaming. Could that be a videocard that gets unusually hot or should I think about the case which btw got two 80 mm chassifansMy systemAMD X2 6000 3.1 GHz4 Gb PC6400 RAM(failed 8800Gt 512M DDR3 PCIe now running mobo embedded graphics which render games unplayable)Corsair modular HX520 52…

Hi,I've just got a new Dell Inspiron 570 MT, it only has integrated graphics, (radeon HD4200) so I'm guessing I will need a video card to make FSX playable. As its only a basic PC, and I mainly use my PS3 for gaming I don't want to spend much, also I think I will be limited by the standard PSU (seems to be 300 watts) which rules out the better cards. The system specs are:Athlon II X2 240 (2.8Ghz)2 GB DDR3 (1066Mhz)Windows 7 Home PremiumI have been thinking of an ATI Radeon HD5450 , 5570, or 5670 ... any thoughts?and is there much advantage in going for the 1gb version over 512mb?thanks,Tim

I've been playing FSX for a few years with a single 22" LCD. I picked up a nicer 24" LCD the other day and I'm going dual with the 24" as my primary and the 22" as my secondary. Windows handles it just fine, but when I get to FSX, it thinks that the 22" is the primary monitor. I have to shift stuff around every time I start flying to get it "right". Am I doing something wrong? What I want is my cockpit view on my 24" and then GPS, Radio stack, kneeboard, etc, on the 22" screen.I don't mind moving the stuff around - it's a hassle, but it's really not a huge deal. What is a huge deal is that when I hit my screenshot button in FSX, it takes a screenshot of the GPS and whatev…

Is anybody running W7 (any release) with the 182.5 drivers? Are you getting really great performance from the 182.5's that you did under Vista (any release)?I'm running right now with with the 196.21 and I thought that I read somewhere that the 182.5's are designed only for XP or Vista. I know that I had really great performance with them, and thought to ask before I go through the whole rigmarole of trying them out again under W7. They always gave great and sharp clarity. The community thought that the 182.5's was the all-time champ for FSX. I'm not interested in any other video entertainment titles...so...I'd appreciate your input. Thanks,Mitch

All- Thanks in advance for the opinions....I recently picked up a 25" Samsung Tv/Monitor and I was wondering if it's time to upgrade my video card. I am running an AMD X4 940 BE with 4gb RAM and a 8800GTS 512mb XFX card and play FSX on full HD resolution. OS is Win 7 Ult 64bit. Within FSX I run REX 2, GEX, MyTraffic X, various add-on airport sceneries and MegaScenery. Should I pickup a new video card? Will I obtain better graphics, less stutters, etc? If so, which one would give me the best bang for the buck.

After months of tweaking and reinstalling I've finally got fsx running at top performance. I've solved all major problems but one. The nvidia driver failure and recovery error.More often than not this error complettly locks FSX and i have to ctl-alt-delete to get out of it. Has anyone been able to find a fix for this? It's really frustrating to come to the end of a 7hr flight and have my graphics go into a total meltdown on approach. I have a collection of older nvidia drivers back to 186.18, would an older driver work better? Thanks,AlexMy Specs:Mainboard-EVGA x58 3x SLIGraphics-GeForce GTX 285 OCFUCPU-Intel i7 950 3.07ghz (oc-4.0ghz)MEM-OCZ DDR3(6GB)OS-Windows 7 Pro x64F…
