I have the CH Pedals and CH Flight Stick at this time, but I am interested in the Saitek X52 Flight Control System, specifically the throttle control.I fly mostly GA in FS including business aircraft.Just wondering what people think of the system if you have it. Is it worth it?

In January of this year I purchased a Leadtek Winfast 6800 GT graphics card from newegg.com (about $400). When I installed the card it wouldn't work, just a bunch of garbage on my screen. After about three weeks of haggling with Leadteks support I sent the card in for replacement and waited at least a couple of months to receive the new one. Hi guys-I just updated the bios on my flight sim desktop, and I got a really bad failure of some kind. The computer says "BIOS ROM checksum error" at startup, then asks for boot disks. I put in the recovery CD, and I can hear the CD spool up, but then the system freezes. I've tried hitting F1 and all the other commands to enter the bios, but it won't let me.The bios update was recommneded by the manufacture and was a windows install. The installation was fine, and it said it had to be rebooted. Now this.....Any advice?Mike

Yup. I ordered a plain vanilla Fresenel Lens for around $35. Its about 20" diagnoal.it seemed too big for my 19"CRT minitor. but it seemed good for my 24" widescreen monitor.Its a no frill kind. Meaning, it has no frame or box or stand. I held it with my stretched out left hand in front of the monitor.It is an interesting concept worth pursuing more.Are there anyone here using Fresnel lens in their setup? I would like to hear from them.

I had asked on this forum for help in solving my problem of airplane textures not showing up and the 3d panel textures not loading....Well, after many months of trial and error, I have solved it. The main culprit was that the PC was running too hot. I had it in a compartment in the desk, where it didn't get much breathing room. So I took it out of the compartment and put it on the desk, where it could breath and presto, I was getting the textures back! In addition, I think the latest Video driver, NV 81.98 helped a lot. I have a Geforce 5950 Ultra Card, which worked very well until I put the PC in the cabinet.......Lessons learned!Paul

It freezes between 5 and 30 minutes, most times just a freeze, sometimes a true blue screen of death.I installed the new 4-in-1-drivers from VIA and the newest ATI drivers (dated 21/12/05) and the newest soundcard drivers. No help.Furthermore I changed the cooler on my Radeon 9600 to a massive size. While I can't monitor card temps I believe it should be cool. In the BIOS my mobo temp is 26 and CPU temp is 51. Hi everyone, lately I have been having problems with fs.9, Everytime I start a flight, As soon as I leave the airport boundaries, any airport for that matter, I get a ctd, I have looked for duplicate AFCADS, tried using diffrent ones, to no avail. Hi folks,I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be possible/help to install FS9 on a second hard drive that is on a different IDE bus than the OS hard drive. I have a second hard drive that is on the secondary IDE bus. I know that when I put my FRAPS videos to that drive it records with alot less stutters due to be able to access both drives at the same time. I'm a newbie when it comes to updating video drivers. Awhile back I updated my gForce4 Ti 4200 card to the 81.85 drivers. It seemed fine initially, but I kept getting weird displays in mid flight (holding mouse cursor over a gauge and then a second instrument panel would appear). I then rolled back my driver to the ancient 30.82 from back in 2002! My problem with the prior drivers was gone. Anyone know what I should try next? Stick with an old driver or does anyone know of a newer driver version for this card that's stable? I only need it for this flight sim, no other games. Thanks for any replies.

I am using 3 external drives. I changed the letters fairly easy using 'disk management'. But when I turn off the computer and then come back, the drives' letters revert to the original assignment.I use windows XP-sp1.Anyway to adjust the registry to make the letter changing permanent?Thanks.Abe

Would it be faster to run FS on a external HDD or internal? Im looking for a 120GB hdd, but not shure whether a external is faster than a internal. Ive heard since they run through a firewire, they are slower. True? Thanks guys! :-wave

I'm on nVidia GF6800Ultra FW 81.95. I have heavy blinking in FS, particularly when starting the game, or hitting Esc. I'm using 1024x768 res, FSAAx2 in the driver, full screen mode. In the windowed mode I don't the blinking. Any ideas, please?Thanks.

I have had fs9 for about 4 months or more now. I have never really looked into this problem. I have a p4 2.4ghz 512 megs of ram. 96 meg gfx card. I only average around 12 fps. This pretty much happens with any a/c. Currently I run fs with no AI traffic. I even have to use 2d clouds to keep the fps from dropping under 10. I also use fs autostart to shut down almost every program running. I have no anti virus software running while flight simulator is running. My computer is also clean of spyware. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. This has happend since I have boght flight simulator 2004. I use no auto gen. I have even tried turning every slider down low. No luck. My …
