This weekend I was told by a seemingly expert at hardware, that I will no doubt be forced to reformat my HD when upgrading from:AMD 2800 socket 754 w/ AGP MBTO:AMD64 3700 socket 939 w/PCIe MBIs this true, will I REALLY HAVE to reformat my HDs?thanks,Eric T

I want to upgrade to a 256MB 7800 GTX SLI. I noticed that if I underclock my video card to 6800 GT speeds I get about 15% drop in performance at 1600x1200 4xAA 8xAF so I'm thinking that at 1600x1200 with 4x AA and 8x AF going to a faster video card would help in this situation. Underclocking my cpu didn't decrease my performance as much as underclocking my video card with these video settings. I do more than just play FS2004 on my PC. I play FPS and Racing games as well. Even if FS2004 doesn't support SLI the 7800 GTX is faster than what I have with a single card and would like to know how much better with a single 7800 GTX will run at these video settings.

Hi all. I just upgraded my old 2700+ Athlon with Asus board, 128 Geforce graphics and 1 gig of ram to an Athlon 64 4000+, Asus ASN SLI board, 256 Labtech GeForce 6800 graphics, and 2Gig of PC 3200. Should fly right? WRONG!!!! I honestly feel that it isnt really that much faster than what I had. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers

Are there any issues with the ASUS A8N (Delux or Premium)motherboards, that users may be aware of with regards to running FS? Hi guysRecently i've been having some problems.Everytime i go into spotview, i see small 'untextured but randomly colored' poly's flickering all over the screen. Yet not to the extent that i i do not see the aircraft/scenery anymore. Recently in addition to that my spot view began to lock up. Just wondering if anyone has a favorite Nvidia driver that they think works well with the Nvidia 6800 GTO and FS9? I am trying some drivers, but there are a bunch and maybe I can save myself some time, and narrow the search somewhat.

I haven't given this much thought till recently. I realize that my system is just about 3 years old, and although it is running fine so far, I wonder what I would do if something really went catastrophically wrong such as a complete hard drive crash and failure. I mean, I have FS set up just as well as I think I can with its many tweaks and add-on files. I also have backed up my download directory from time to time. My question is, should I think about backing up anything in case the unthinkable happens?? I guess I would obviously back up my FS9 directory, but what else would I consider saving so that if the worst happened, I could easily reload everything. I though…

Month ago I reinstalled XP and no issues on anything until now. MSFS runs, and everything with it installed fine.Now I try to install CH MANAGER 3.6 for my yoke/pedals. However now when I click on the setup.exe file I get the following error box:CAN'T RUN 16-BIT WINDOWS PROGRAMCannot find c:CHInstallSETUP.EXE(or one of its components). Hi everyone,So I chose the Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe mobo for my new system but no one has any in stock. I'm thinking of perhaps "downgrading" my aspirations to a A8N-SLI Premium or Deluxe. Any comments? Here are my thoughts: I'm only running one Geforce 7800GTX 256MB for the time being....so is there any benefit to the A8N32...other than "future-proofing"?

Desperate here in Central Wisconsin, I have a new PC, AMD 3200, 1g memory, GeForce 6800 (256meg of memory), and just loaded my old FS9 (twice). I get 0 fps even using default settings. I loaded CFS2, I get 50+ fps even with most sliders maxed. What's up? Any advice would be appreciated!Arne

Hi, I'm trying to use dxoverride with FS9 to get rid of the shimmering. I am using the latest Omega drivers based on the CAT 5.11 drivers. The problem is that FS9 will not load when I try to start it the dxoverride files in the FS9 main directory. I remember this worked before with an older set of drivers but now it has stopped working. I also know that the same feature that dxoverride provides is now included within the CAT drivers however when I enable that setting it absolutely makes zero difference in display quality. Is there a way to get dxoverride to work again? Thank you.
