For those of you with the 24" Dell 2405FPW LCD monitor, will a 6800GT NVidia video card (which is what I already own) be good enough to run it at the native resolution of 1920x1200 (or whatever it is)? Or should I get the 7800GT video card? I have a 3.2 GHz Intel CPU and 2 GB of RAM, by the way.

Just recently a problem developed with my TQ. The 'U' axis has stopped responding (5th lever). It shows OK when checking it for calibration and, when moving the lever, all appears normal. However, it does nothing in any of the aircrat where I have separate mixture control levers. Nada, nothing. I have FSUIPC ver. 3.48 (registered) but it doesn't respond there either. All other axes respond correctly. I have tried removing and reinstalling the TQ, but to no avail. Also I checked the sensitivities and all are in the correct position. Tried reinstalling an aircraft but that didn't solve anything either. But I can get it to move using the keyboard key assignment (Cntl+Shift+F…

Dear all,I need your help. I have a Gigabyte nvidia 660GT & using a latest driectx 9.0c(Aug/2004)with nvidia forceware driver 81.94. My windowsxp is SP2. When I run "dxdiag" tools & found the "AGP texture acceleration" button is able to click for enable & disable this function. Question come to my mind, I'm using PCI-Express card, how come I'm able to have "AGP texture acceleration" function. Do I need to enable this function or not?B/Regards...Alex Ooi

Howdy,I don't know if this is the correct forum for this, however...I have been using FS9 for some time now and recently have been getting disturbing display problems and I was wondering if anybody else has seen this.The first problem was that when I viewed an aircraft from the exterior it was as if the fuselage was completely invisible. You could see right through the aircraft. Portions of it would flash on and off.I have also noticed a flickering of ground and buildings when viewing them from the exterior of the aircraft.None of these seem to happen when viewed from the cockpit.Thanks for your help.Greg

Looking at an on-line store for nVidia cards, the vendors listed are:AOPEN, APOLLO, ASUS, BFG, CHAINTECH, eVGA, GIGABYTE, LEADTEK, MSI, PNY, XFX .Does anyone have opinions on which ones are better, if any? Anyone know the difference between the US English and international versions of the Nvidia Forceware drivers? I live in Bangkok and purchased XP home here, but the box doesn't indicate it is a Thai edition. Since I work in English, I want that to be the default language, but many of the newer games have Thai editions with the menus in Thai, so I need to be able to read them. My question is whether I have a choice in the version I use or if one "right" and the other "wrong"? Hi All,So I'm finally building a new machine and I have a hard drive configuration question. I have 2 drives, a 200 Gig Western Digital IDE and new SATA 76 Gig 10KRPM Raptor. Do I put the OS and such on the 200 Gig drive(Primary IDE), and put (only) FS2004 on the Raptor? It would be nice to have the speed of the Raptor for the simulator; I can live everything else on my old drive.ThanksStephen

I have been using FS for several years in its different version. I have usually never had any big problem. Now I have however fonund a new and strange problem. This seams to be some kind of memory leak.The problem makes FS hang and return me to the desktop after 15 - 20 min of VFR flying. FS doesn't krasch completely, it just minimizes and show an error window stating that the system has become low on memory. When I at this time check the memory usage in the task manager I can see that FS has allocated around 1.7 Gb for itself.When I answer OK to the error message FS restarts and returns me to the "create flight" screen.I have now investigate further into this and can see…

my video card crashed on me this weekend. since i wasn't in the market for a new one when it happened, i've been somewhat "out-of-the-loop" in knowing whats available now. i want to replace an ATI 9800pro 128Mb card, and i would like to upgrade, but i think i'm limited to around $200. is there any chance of getting a better card for that much? if not, what are we talking $$ wise?if anyone could give me some insight and info, i would greatly appreciate it.thxchris

I have a CH joystick, and a CH Yoke. Problem is, FS defaults to the joystick, necessitating a visit to controller assignments prior to each new FS session. Any way to change this to make my yoke default, besides deleting the joystick? I tried changing controller ID position in Win control pnl game controllers applet, but to no avail.Any help much appreciated.Noel
