Replaced my Nvidia 5700 with a 6600. When I boot up, Windows displays OK but I get this message:"Nvidia has detected that there is not enough power for this graphic card and has adjusted to a lower setting".Is this a power supply problem or my motherboard and chip are not enough speed.ThanksEd2.4 gigNvidia 6600

I would appreciate your views on what setting I should have for the AGP aperture on my machine to help avoid texture popups. Here's my core specs:PC Chips M825LU mobo (VIA KM266 chipset)AMD Athlon XP 2400+ @ 2GHz512Mb PC2100 memory (2x256Mb stick for dual channel)Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro 128MbMaxtor 5400rpm 60Gb HDI have JustFlight VFR photo scenery installed, and despite the slower initial load times, this doesn't suffer any worse from textures popping up than the default scenery. I have followed the JustFlight instructions for optimising performance, and I'm happy with the image quality etc. However I am unsure whether tweaking my AGP aperture size from the default 64Mb …

Has anyone tried using a proxy server (WinProxy is one) to act as internet/e-mail security, and if so- what are the relative merits (or not) compared with running something like Norton Internet Security on the flightsim computer? I'm also thinking of any issues that could be caused with Squawkbox / VATSIM, etc.Thanks- Bruce.

Okay, as Im looking at upgrading this weekend possibly... I see that the processor I want (the socket 939 AMD64 3700XP) has a 2000 mhz front side bus (FSB). However, why are manufacturers offering a socket 939 motherboard with only a 1000 mhz FSB? Yes, I see they also offer the 2000 mhz FSB, but this seems out of place to offer one at half the speed too for the same processor. Comments please... Eric T

Hi all!I'm going to buy a 512Mb Video Card. In future I think I will update my system with another 512Mb Video Card. Than, I will have 1Gb of Video RAM! WHY THIS?!!Because I have to use a big photo scenery on my FS2004. All the scenery is 1.5Gb of textures. I want to play FS2004 without blurried textures!THE QUESTION IS:Do you know if FS2004 can load into Video Memory all amount of textures in order to render them not blurried?Excuse for my bad english ;-)Best RegardsAQUI

Greetings! Can someone please advise the actual horizontal width, in inches, of the viewing area? A friend, who does not have one, calculated that it should be 16.97". I have a 20", diagonal, Viewsonic P225f that has a 16" horizontal width. If my friend is correct then I wouldn't pay $1000 just for an additional 1" in width.Thanks.Scott

Gone for a long while, back with a question. When I start FS9, get lots of 'flashing', blinking-type activity. Game starts, often crashes. Running Windows XP Home, P4 2.4 Gig 512 RAM with GeForce 6800 card. Seems this started after I upgraded to the new card from previous GeForce. Using 81.95 nVidia drivers. any info please.

Frequently, as I'm in flight, I get a loud sound, kind of an electrial short sound. Hard to describe. Like a very fast jackhammer or something. The sim freezes, computer locks and I must pull the power to reboot. Not sure but many times it appears that I was switching views or going to or from external view. Today, just from 2d while enroute. I have a Creative LiveDrive 5.1Anyone with the same problem?Michael

I tried to run FS2004 on my new laptop, which has a wide screen, and i have a problem : Even if FS2004 works on 1280*800, all panels are resized, so the gauges are completely stretched, that's very ugly and very hard to use. I tried to set FS2004 on 1024*768, and i have to leave the full screen mode to have a decent display... Playing with the windows desktop on each side of the simulator is very disappointing. How can I have a full screen 4:3 display, with a black band on each side of the screen ?My video card is an ATI Mobility X700 with 256MB, with the lastest catalyst drivers. Thanks

Hey,I'm seriously considering the purchase of a CH Virtual Pilot Yoke and Rudder Pedals, (Cheaper than 'new' USB Yoke)It is described as 'CH VIRTUAL PILOT Yoke controls and RUDDER PEDALS, and uses a GAMES/MIDI PORT.'Does anyone have this Yoke? Hello everyone. I don't visit this part of the forums, but this is a strange problem that I need advice on. OK, I have a CH USB yoke and rudders. All of a sudden tonight, I noticed when I hit button 1 or 2 which is on the right and left sides at the front tips of the yoke, (I assigned button#2 rht side to change my view, and #1 lft side for brakes which is by default) Button#1 triggers buttons 1-5-9 and hat view up. button#2 triggers 2-6-10 and hat veiw right. I found this out when I looked in my properties. I also noticed it was not installed under a usb port, but a generic port. I had it plugged into a usb hub. I removed the hub and finally got it to be seen in the usb …

I had a Radeon 9800 pro graphic card installed in my computer but it was started to go and I had to replace it. I had to replace it with a Radeon 9600xt graphic card, and while I do not see a difference between the two I still would like to know what are the differences I can look for in my graphics.(I had to wait 2 weeks before I could get another 9800 Pro. Thats why I got the 9600xt)

I have a question regarding connecting my PC w/6800GT card to a bigscreen TV.I am planning on buying a 32"-52" TV w/integrated HDTV. I want to use it for my FS9 as well as HDTV Football etc... in my den. What would be the best system? I hear Plasmas are prone to burn-in, DLP's need bulb replacement, so I guess my choice should be an LCD? Will a rear projection LCD be a good choice? Can I connect through an HDMI port with a DVI to HDMI adapter? We have a 65" HDTV ready rear projection CRT system in the living room, and althought it does a great job with Cable HD, it's not so great with the PC hooked up!Any advice, suggestions or recommendations will be greatly appreciated!Pe…

Hi all. I've been adding more AFCAD and flights to my large airports recently. But I've noticed the N'Vidia drivers (77.77) I'm using seem a little twitchy. In the default mode, FS9 looks gorgeous. But as I tax my system with more AI traffic, I've had several screen lock-ups, causing me to have to reboot. The trouble, at least this is what Win XP says, is a "failure of the NV4.dll drivers."OK. I use a BFG GeForce FX 5700 OC with 256 DDR Ram. I've had some apparent cooling fan issues with this card. I've sent 2 back to BFG already, and the third in my system has a noisy fan as well. But I also want to attempt to find the best drivers for this card and its stable play in FS9.…

I have been a desktop pilot for over 8 years and have flown most of all of the software sim's including PS1.3a, PMDG 737NG's, PIC767 and the Level D 767. All all superb in their systems but the biggest glitch in all of the above software is the LACK of a good YOKE & THROTTLE arrangement. I had 2 hours on the real 737 NG-700 flight simulator and I can also tell you that I trained on the PMDG 737NG software and it was a breeze knowing all about the systems and the aircraft in general. The biggest disappointment however is that nobody has developed or marketed a YOKE & RUDDER set-up that is AFFORDABLE with a reasonable real-feel for what it's really like to hand fly …
