What do the different settings under the advanced settings mean? I know what some of the mean,but what about these, and should they be turned on/off?- Conformant texture clamp- Extension limit- Trilinear optimization- Aniso mip filter optimization- Transparency antialiasing- Negative LOD bias...and so on. What are some of the best settings with regards to fs9, or what are your settings?

hi,i got a dfi ultra-d mobo in april as part of my new setup,things where working fine until a month ago.now i cant event get to the bios,i just get a 2-3 second beep every 2-3 seconds.there will be the odd time that it will start normally,but i have to leave it on all day or forget it.this all happend out of the blue,and after i had finally got fs9 running with no stutters and good frames.after reading on the dfi forums i noticed that this has happend to many people with the ultra-d&sli.so i guess its a new mobo(asus i guess?),more money and install everting again and hope i can get it as smooth as it is now.i wanted to share this in case anyone is thinking about thi…

Guys, I am trying to use an extra set of logitech Momo pedals for the rudder. They are registering as combined pedals under the rudder axis but they are opposite to what they should be. Left goes to right. I have checked the reverse setting but it doesn't apply and doesn't work? Any suggestions.Thank you,Todd

I just intalled this monitor ..... the addition realism added with MSFS in "large" widescreen is breath taking ...IF you are contemplating getting a large widescreen .. this one (24" widescreen) comes highly recommendedVern:-jumpy

I have just ordered a Viewsonic 19" LCD monitor and I know it comes with both the standard analog cable and a DVI cable. I have read that DVI gives a better display. My current video card is a ATI 9800 Pro which I am satisfied with, however, it does not have a DVI connector on it. My question is would it be worth it to buy another card in order to use DVI or would the improvement not be worth the extra expenditure. Anyone have any experience with comparing the two methods of connecting the monitor to the video card?Thanks for any guidence. Jim

Hi All,I have a nvidia 6800gt GC. currently with the 66.93 drivers, I am trying to update the drivers, I used the Driver cleaner program to uninstall old ones, But everytime when I install the new ones I get an error message saying that the parameter is incorrect, Doesn't matter what version I tried to install, 77.77, 77.81 etc.. Still the same, I've read a lot of post concerning updating drivers, I ran the cleaner in safe mode, downloaded drivers with accelerator turned off, Tried just about everything, pretty much ready to give it up.. Was wondering if anyone else encounters this error message before, while installing drivers.. Hope someone can help... …

I just bought a new Dell XPS Gen2 laptop (specs as in profile below), which runs FS9 better than any desktop I've ever owned. But I have a problem with the sound. It's not there all the time - so I know the laptop can do better. But far too often engine sounds produce rapid stuttering, which is very disconcerting (and disappointing).Nothing I change seems to make any difference - half the time I get the sound problems, half the time I don't. It appears that Microsoft are either unable or unwilling to offer driver support for USB2.0 supported by VIA KT333 chipset. I understand that only Microsoft are licensed to provide any such updates but since the emergence of Windows XP SP2 there is no USB driver support. I keep all my downloads and files on a USB HDD and it gets very frustrating when they cannot be read on occasions.It also appears that for those of us that received an OEM version of Windows XP Home there is no facility to quiz Microsoft as to how, why and when? Hi folks, I just got a 6800GT 256mb and as everybody knows (everybody but me! ...should've researched more before I bought it) the shimmering is really annoying! I've tried all the drivers from 60.xx. to the latest beta and many many different AA/AF configurations, but the shimmering still bothers me. The best I could get was using high resolution(1200x that's the max my monitor can handle) and even 16xAA(!)/16xAF(!) but the shimmiring is still present and my monitor can't display this resolution with a good refresh rate. Is anybody here using the same card at 1600x? How is the shimmering? I'm wondering if I should return my card(pay restock fees+ shipping) and get an …

Well, I turned off the page file to see what would happen. Start up FS and see what happens. I have 1 gig memory. Normally I let Windoze manage it and the physical memory available reported by task manager runs around 350 megs extra. With the page file off, memory slowly went down to 90 megs left. I turned the page file back on and the amount of memory rose back to about 200 megs. I wonder if I had 2 gigs whether I could leave the page file off? Would that make any difference in anything? Loading everything should make less disk access but that might be probably it.JimCYWG

When using MSFS9, the game crashes after about 1 hour. No matter what im doing it crashes. I have gone to microsoft website to find help, did what they told me but still crashes. I have reinstalled msfs9 at least 3 times already and have updated ALL drivers. Its getting frustrating! But it always crashes about an hour after starting. Also... the whole game slows down super slow the computer. Usually i have to hard restart.

I have the latest drivers, and with all settings maxed out in the driver and fs itself, it's running at 60 fps with Cessna in easy environment, and 30-20 with Herc/PMDG 744/PS 777 at busy larger airports in complicated weather (ASV). For me this is fantastic, very fluid. But:1. In the Create flight and pick aircraft windows I don't see a preview of the planes.2. I just build a new amd system thanks guys for the imputim playing it on my mitsubshi 60" dlp tv and im trying to use 1280x720p. However my i cant see the edges on my tv it says it would need 1150 x 640. 2. Hi AllFS9 is running on a Pentium 2.4 with 1 gig of RAM and a Leadtek 6600GT with AGP8X - SB Live! 5.1 surround ...Until recently this setup may have huffed and puffed a little - however, it seldom failed (even when running ASV-enhanced, LevelD 767, FSSFX, and CH yoke, pedals and throttle quad. HiI posted here a few days ago regarding computer crashes, I think I'm beginning to narrow down. Flight sim now crashes with an error due to fe.dll, however, I can keep on playing flightsim, just the graphics card seems to give up loading textures.The problem starts with the screen going totally black, and a lot of hard drive activity, then I have to ALT+ENTER to exit full screen mode to see what the problem is...fe.dll error appears, I can then go back into full screen mode and continue what I was doing but with dreadful graphics.Cheers[br][/img][/font][/b]
