Help Using the AVSIM Forums

For a few years now, I have been receiving content from two forums by way of a daily digest. I then log in via the link of a topic. The other day, I added two other forums, only to find I no longer receive any daily digests at all now. So some how I have upset the system some how.When I look in my profile, I can see I am following 4 forums, and when in edit mode, I can see a small clock symbol and 'send a daily digest' comment. When in the actual forum, I can see i am 'following it'Any suggestions as to what I have turned off would be helpful. Regards

I didn't even realize you could change your username and email address from within your account... I'm changing from DairyCreamer to BeaconSlash. I registered BeaconSlash earlier tonight as a different account... is there a way I can delete this account so I can just go back in to DairyCreamer and chance the display name from there? HiIm using the X52 control system. When taxiing or landing the aircraft will not brake for me when I use the brake (trigger) on the joystick? The only way I get the aircraft to stop is to continuously press the trigger (like firing a pistol!) and that way the aircraft seems to stop!Am I doing something wrong here?Thank you for your help.

I, like everyone else, was saddened to read of the passing of David "Opa" Marshall. His contributions to this hobby were always provided in the most civil and humble manner. It is my loss that I never knew him in person. I would like to propose to the forum staff, that if it is feasible, we pay tribute to "Opa" by making a change to the forum header that currently reads; "Flight Simulator Tips and Tricks", to something that reads like this; "Flight Simulator Tips and Tricks""David "Opa" Marshall memorial" Somewhat like the header for the "MS FSX Forum", and the multiple line construction, or at least something displaying honorable mention of his name. I've noticed some strange issues lately in the forum. Yesterday and today when posting in the PMDG forum, I started a topic and posted it. Shortly after that I was reading some other posts when it appeared my topic had vanished and I dont mean to another page, I mean gone completely even when searching my own content of posts and topics it was gone. Then suddenly a short while later it appeared again. I've even notied that other peoples topics seem to vanish and the reappear as I was searching for a thread some other fellow had started. This has primarely been happening in the PMDG NGX forum, so I was thinking that maybe it had to do with the increase in traffic? I dont k…

Hello. I love the new layout, thank you, but I can't edit my posts. I receive an "object error" message. I have tried using the full editor with the same result. I am using the Maxthon browser with IE8 as the shell on Windows XP SP3. Any ideas how to correct this issue. Thanks

I have noticed since the forum upgrade avatars containing text (like mine) are cut off on the left and right side even after I tried to resize my avatar. Is there a correct size on should use in order to properly display an avatar? Since the new forum upgrade I am having issues signing in. When I click the sign in button nothing happens. I was able to sign in thru the AVSIM online page and then select forums tab and then sign in. Then just now when signing in I got a AVSIM.net driver error, but eventually was able to sign in. Is there anything I need to do on my end to sign in? Jim

I just replyed in a thread and and could not paste a link to download GPU-Z into my reply. I also could not paste any plain text into my reply. I just tried the same thing here and I can not do either one. You can not even copy some text from your own reply and paste it somewhere else in your reply. It seems that the copy and paste functions have been completely blocked/disabled since the forum update.

what's the deal, are there any restrictions that photo can only be changed once a day or something like that?I made a change and it worked. This was only a test image.When I tried to replace it - everything went OK except that my old photo still shows up.I finally removed it - this always works.But when I try to load again the photo I want - the old one would ultimately shows up - the one that was removed!! So what's going on??

Does the latest version of IPB not have forum jump? I loved forum jump.... There must be more forum jumpers out there.

In the edit post option I can change the contents and repost.But what if I made a mistake in the post title. That cannot be corrected?I just put up a post with the word "Divers" instead of "drivers".Any ideas? Eytan Ornstein

Hi Folks, In the previous iteration of the forums I used to be able to click "View New Content" and then clicking on any thread would take me to the first unread post in the thread. Doing so basically filtered out everything I had read in the forum. Hi Hard to explain this problem when writing a title !! I tend to mainly use the 'Commercial Support Forums' i.e. Radar Contact, PMDG etc. If I access the PMDG 747NGX forum for example, then come out it to go to the PMDG General forum the main Avsim forums page has gone to the very top again so I then have to scroll back down to the PMDG section to enter the General section This didn't happen with the old forums, if I came out of say PMDG 737NGX the Commercial Support Section was still displayed on the screen, so I just had to click on PMDG General to enter that forum. I noticed that my avatar (profile photo) changed with the forum upgrade. It reverted to an old one which I deleted. When I try to upload a new photo, I get a failed message with no further explanation. What are the guidelines on what is acceptable?

Dear Avsim staff,I´ve got a very strange problem with the upload of pictures. I just tried to post a topic in the screen shots froum (It finally worked). I tried to incrporate seven picturtes which are hosted anywhere else and linked to the post as I ever do. This worked evertime fine. But not this time. After finishing the post and clicking on the post button, the system gave me the error, that I have too much pictures incorporated. I reduced them to 5 and everything worked like a charm. Have the rules been changed?? Cause on top it´s written that up to 10 pictures are allowed.

Hi avsim team,the new layout looks good. But I can´t find the button wher I can jump to my subsrcibed forums. This saved a lot of time scrolling down to the screen shots forum. Is ther such an panel somewhere? i´ve seen that I can subscribe forums but the appropiate panel doesn´t show anywhere. Can you show me here it is? Or isn´t that possible with the new version?

I follow 7 of the AVSIM forums on a daily basis. If the headings do not catch my eye I use this 'button' control. It works in 6 of the 7 forums I use. The 'dead' button is in the MS FSX Forum. BTW congratulations on the greatly improved presentation format. Frank

Is PM system working?When I want to access my mail box I get infinite looping.

I have noticed that since the upgrade the mobile view is no longer working, even clicking the option just refreshes the normal web view.Anyone else getting that?G(Using Dolphin HD browser...)
