Help Using the AVSIM Forums

Hi,I just just encountered some odd behavior while viewing the X-Plane General Discussions forum:When I go to this sub-forum and click the 'Load more topics' button, the page loads for a moment and the page counter jumps from page 1 to page 2, but the additional topics are not displayed. When I press the button once more, topics are loaded, but these seem to be from page 3. All the page 2 topics are not shown.I tried this with current versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer both yield the same behavior. Strangely enough, this does not seem to apply to other sub-forums.Does anyone else get this behavior?This post has been promoted to an article

I can connect to Avsim mainpage, but I get a fatal error mesage when trying to connect to any Avsim Forum Page.Fatal Error: Call to undefined method skin_classifieds_2::launcher_link() in / opt/webdocs/newsite/forum/hooks/cfdsLauncherLink_51cd674dd5af49499d5029b4927edddb.php on line 16I have a few pages saves as bookmarks and I get the above error on all of them. This never happened before today. Been using the same phone for about a year HTC Evo 4G.All other non avsim bookmarks work fine ..Any Ideas?Glen

I have formated my computer, and i want to install pmdg ngx....but i wrote the key wrong sometime because i used o instead off 0...but now when i write the key right, i get the message:"The activation of the fulfilment is denied by the activation policy because max exstra activations exceeded. Sorry for this noob question, but how do I actually create a gallery and upload pictures to it?I tried five minutes to figure it out and used the search, but no avail.The gallery tab on my profile page doesnt have a create or upload button button. Neither do I see one in the galleries section of the forums.I would like to upload the pictures to avsim so I don't have to link to these upload sites with their nasty online casino popups.

1. When I have posted something and immediately want to edit a little mistake, the message is marked as edited immediately. On a lof ot other forums you have some time before the edited post is marked as edited. Some forums don't even mark the post as edited unless someone else has posted after you, which I like even more. As it is now almost all my posts are marked as edited... We think we have fixed this shortcoming, which you see here. Using the BBCode: [imgleft]content[/imgleft] you can do as you see here in this post. This will allow your text to wrap. If you wish to use this code, be careful to use an image that is not too large. The image you see here is 200 pixels in width, which seems to be about the right size for most images posted in topics here.

Hello avsimI am afraid that the popups that keep appearing when I revisit are really not fun. Is there a setting in my settings that I can use to stop them? If so what is it and where can I find it?

I am trying to use the "Block Forums from Search Results" to make looking at new content more efficient. Is there a limit to the forums that can be blocked? It seems I can not get past "63" or so.Also, does blocking a main forum such as "International Language Forums" block the sub forums?Thank you for any helpful answers.

Something strange going on here...The "Flight Fourm" apparently has been reopened, but......while many others have been posting, it still shows up as "locked" from where I sit. I can not start a new topic, nor can I reply to the existing thread! :shok:

Was perusing my profile and noticed that it shows my member since date of 2010, but I know I've been a member since before 2003. I assume it's because of the hacking incident, but was just curious if that's true because I do see people on here with dates like 2006, etc. I don't post a lot because I find there are a lot of people that are more expert than me, so even now I still show as a newbie, but I was just curious.Matt

I have been using Tapatalk quite happily to access the AVSIM Forums on my iPhone 3GS for at least a couple of months, until yesterday. Now, every time I try to log in, I get a message saying "username or password incorrect." I have tried deleting and re-installing from the App Store, but without success. I can still read the forums, but I cannot use any functions which require me to log in.Have any of the recent forum changes affected Tapatalk functionality?

I click once and I can only see the list with latest topics, I can't browse through the forum. Then I have to click Community + 3 to 4 times until the forum shows up to me. No big deal, but just something I wanted to report

Okay, rookie mistake - I was looking over my profile when I accidentally changed my "display name" to my email address (Firefox had filled in the name box with my login info) - I had no intention of doing this and see that I cannot even restore my original due to the forum restriction about one change per month.Please could a forum admin restore my original display name, which should be "BeechV35Pilot" ? Appreciate any help here.

I don't think the mega-shock smiley is used at all in this forum, and it only distracts readers. It's code is "eighty" (the actual number), and whenever people are referring to McDonnell Douglas airplanes or something that has an "eighty" in it, the system will change it to the smiley. For example:McDonnell Douglas MD- (McDonnell Douglas MD-Eighty) It's quite annoying.

I have changed my ISP. How can I find out my current password so that I can update my email address ??? I would like to keep this account open ( rather than create a new account ) as it has my initial joining date and number of posts up to date.

Firefox can remember passwords/login info but it no longer seems to work with the login to the forum. Has AVSIM disabled or blocked that feature? I would love to have it back so that I do not manually have to enter it each timeThank you

I have the PMDG 737-700 and the brakes don't work. The brake command is enabled and the parking brakes work, but I can't get the brakes to work while taxiing. Any ideas?

When I open AVSIM forums, instead of the usual (one I was used to) forums view I get one with recent topics (I don't care about them):I am trying to get the standard forums view by selecting the option:But it does not work until I click it a few times (sometimes three, sometimes ten times, with no clear reason).The same happens if I want to go to another subforum.OK, I can do it each time (and I do) but I find it very irritating.Before the recent changes I had no problem of that kind.
