Help Using the AVSIM Forums

Hi. Lots of sub-forums appear to be missing... blank-looking pages need a refresh before showing... half the posts in a thread missing from the bottom of each page... no 'More options' when posting a reply... On three networks today (work, county library and internet caff) I've been having great difficulty with this. Please tell me it's not just some demon following me around! Hmmm... Title says it all. I seem to remember it saying any number of URLs..Bit of a drop? from infinity to...One! Is this correct? I still have three in my sig and I need to change a bit of it. when I try to save it, it tells me I can only have 1 URL, so I haven't saved it... jake eek! it did the double post thing, like it did when the boards were changed..can a mod please delete the one below this one? Looks like the main "google" search of the forums is broken, comes up error 404 every time. The second order (advanced) search doesn't seem to find anything either. Anyone know if this is going to be fixed? * Orest

hi i have links in my favourites for pmdg fs2crew but everytime i click on the link i get the message oops The page you are looking for could not be found. i can get on the forum thru the vendors website then set the favourite link again but still get the same error message. the problem seems to be with the avsim forums all my other favourite links are working ok any help please.

It is the second day I am getting this error when entering Avism: Am I the only one and does anyone know how to get rid of it?

I was hoping to post an issue or two regarding the website layout, but when I try to go the link, I get a 404. I tried using a browser I have never used to visit avsim.com. I always visit through www.avsim.com. It appears the comments still cannot paginate, IOW, I can't see any comments beyond those that I see in the first list? When I click on 2 or next or >>, nothing changes, I can't see any more comments. I really, really, really, really, really, hate the dual column format for the news. I mean, really, most of the news item titles end up being 1 or two words / line, and end up being 6 lines long. Plus, my brain gets all confused because I have to scan do…

I noticed there was an option to login using ones Steam account, I tried it and was presented with the AVSIM "Create New Account" page. When I entered my login name I received a message saying that username has already been taken.

That I am seeing in the Microsoft Flight forum? Or should I check my alcohol content? (and I don't even drink!)

Sorry, duplicate post. When I post a new topic, I get a blank page in response. I didn't realize my post had posted. I didn't see the new post till I quit the browser and restarted it and went back to Avsim.com. If I just went back to the forum and refreshed the page, my post(s) did not show up. Time to go back to the old format again till all these issues are addressed? I'm finding it really hard to use the site. I can't read the news (I hate the dual column format). At least maybe ban the use of images in news articles. You can't fit more than a word per line beside an image in a dual column format. That makes the titles nearly impossible to read.

Hi guys. I can not get my 737 NGX to accept gear down in speeds over 245 kts. This problem suddenly showed itself during a descent. Had the same problem with my old pc and other Boeing add-ons, but now I have a new pc. My .dll file contains nothing but FSX Accelration and PMDGs 737 NGX(including your last update for this add-on). I have allready tried one complete reinstall, but that got me nowhere. What might be the cause, and how can I fix it?

For the past two days have been getting the 404 NOT FOUND error . Other forums don't seem to be affected .

Greetings fellow simmers.... I am sure I'm just missing something, but I have some screenshots I would like to share in the gallery. How do I create a gallery and upload photos? In the FAQ it says to look for the upload button. However, I cannot find an upload button... Any tips on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kevin Jessee

A couple of years ago I received help from this forum on how to transfer the FSX Beaver 2d cockpit ot replace the Aerosoft Beaver virtual cockpit. Since then I have lost the instructions on how to do this and after a major computer malfunction find that I need to do this again. If anyone can help please let me know.

HiI've been reading the forums with tapatalk for the last 2 days but now it asks for password and won't let me in. "invalid or your administrator has restricted access to tapatalk"I re logged into the web site to verify and all is fine nothing wrong with my user and password. Just tapatalk. Any ideas?

Hi. I've recently dragged an old navigation project out of my archive with the intention of ironing out the bugs ready for an upload to the library. In my original readme I'd included a link to a tutorial on great circle navigation: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=254266 but on checking the link while rewriting the readme I received an error message stating 'The internet site reports that the item you requested can not be found'. On the website of Avsim I see the news item: "Welcome to the New Front Page!" and the comments on this item. But I can see only the first page of the comments and not the other two pages. Sorry if this is the wrong place of my topic.

As I haven't been around lately due to work pressures I missed the announcement as to why Avsim is limiting guest access to some forums and then eventually all forums.I'm just curious , what is the reasoning behind limiting guest access? Is it to reduce server load?I have done a search to see if there is a thread explaining why the change but I haven't found one. If there is a thread somewhere else then please point that out.In the past I normally don't log in unless I want to post, especially if I am reading the forums whilst mobile.
