Help Using the AVSIM Forums

I have noticed a new (?) option. These new features look very nice, esspecially the chat and the selective quoting. But it seems I´m too foolish to understand how that chat works. I can´t find the place where I can write something.

I am unsure if this is the result of the ongoing maintenance but I thought I should mention that throughout the day the new links database has resulted in a forum driver error page.

I haven't been able to access the forums for several days, and I'm wondering if it's just me.I was using IE8, and the top banner and navigation would load, but not the rest, and it would say Error on Page at the bottom.I'm posting now using Chrome (which I had never used at all until a few days ago) which seems to get me further.

i asked for help on an avsim forum and got slammed for not having a full signature. everthing except the signature beneath a post is very visible on my cp. i didn't even see them till told about it. i don't even know how to enter my name under the post as appears on the forums so i just post my full name and address and don't consider it anyone's business what my interests are except flying. and i was told that using all capital letters in a post was rude not a choice. as long as my keyboard has capital letters i'll use them as i damn well please. well if you type the letter 'j' you're an ax murderer and if you type the p you are a child molester etc. etc. etc. get…

How do I send a PM to another member?I can't find a Send me a message button in any members profile: nor can I find any reference in my own profile to Enabling/Disabling messages. A click-by-click guide would be helpful.

Anyone else having an issue of "Sorry, no new content found" when they click on the View New Content button? I started having this issue yesterday and it's still happening despite many new topics/posts.

is there something going on with the forum? for the last 48 hours 4 out of 5 attempts to connect to the forum fail (timeout error or unable to connect). when i can get the forum to load 2 of 3 the CSS page doesn't load the the forum's formatting is lost.no other issues with any other www-site i visit, or administer (i admin five www-sites and three www-forums).it took me three attempts to get this message to post.--

HelloCan somebody tell me which of the many topic notification alert methods I need to select(in profile options)to get a notification via e-mail that somebody has replied to a topic I have posted ? I add smileys to my post very often. I have to click on a smiley above the box I am typing in and then a row of smileys appear underneath that same box. However, the smileys that appear aren't the regular and most used ones... I always have to click on Show all to get to the regular ones (the ones that are on top too in that window).Why aren't the regular smileys shown underneath the box I am typing in?And while I am at it: why isn't the regular ;) smiley on this forum?
