Help Using the AVSIM Forums

How do I attatch a file in a pm msg I've clicked on the envelope and set compose new message but there are no options available to attatch a file I've tried to do this in both chrome and ie9 but can't find anything

Hi, The last says have been my first visit to the avsim forum. After just making clear statements of what I think about developers (just asking about a FS2004 version, led to very insulting comments from an avsim moderator). Why is this happening on an international forum, I thought everyone is welcome? I am deeply angered about such statements and personal messages made, this forum is international, not a "narrow minded" controversy. If everyone is not welcome here, then fine, you can ban me. But this forum really looks well otherwise. If anyone could explain why this racism or anti-political issues are made (I did not even talk about politics) happ…

I just noticed two things regarding the member reputation: 1. The reputation tab (when viewing profile) seems to be gone and I can't even see my own reputuationany longer. 2. I can't give any "plus points" anymore (that icon below the posts has vanished, too). Is this related to any mistakes/faults by myself, or does this occur to others as well? To AVSIM Staff, Recently while trying to do some tutorials in the AVSIM RTW Private forum, I tried to embed images in my post that are hosted elsewhere, and I made sure to follow the rules laid out on this forum, 1600 px wide, png/gif/jpg and wasn't able to post them. I kept getting the following error: You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community I am wondering if there is something i might be doing wrong.. For example I was trying to post this pic a couple minutes ago and it wouldn't let me.. I recently changed my profile avatar,but the board is still displaying the old photo. Please advise.

I gave an award to a member,and then checked his profile and saw a button showing remove award. I didn't think anyone could remove an award given by another member. Surely that button should only be visible to the member only? Please clarify.

Does the forum rules allow consumers to posts problems they are having with software publishers are is this taboo since it will most likely result in negative comments?

i'm having trouble with the About Me section of my forum profile. whenever i make a change, it takes effect temporarily, then when i check it the next day, it's back to the way it was before. i'm making only minor text changes, and after i click save, i view my profile, and it all looks good. the next day, it's reverted back to the way it was before i changed it. i've done this 5-6 times now, and it keeps happening. anyone else seeing this? is it a bug?

Greetings. I am sure this is an old topice that has been discussed many times before but I cant find a definitive answer. My FSX CFG file is corrupt and I want to scrap it and replace with a new one. Not done this before so could someone kindly walk me through step by step how to do it ? I am using Win 7, 64 bit. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Busterbvi. PS. I experience frequent crash using Tapatalk on my Ipad. Also when I try to see video links, about two third of the time the system goes to a white screen and seem to be searching as indicated by a small icon moving at top right of the screen. But he never seem to find video (or at least, I quit before they find it as it seems abnormally long). Any other experience those kind of problem with Tapatalk? Pierre

I've noticed that in the recent hours or maybe 24 hours or more that topic notification emails are not being sent anymore, its been a very long time since we last had a problem like this. Is anyone else seeing the same?

Since yesterday evening, any attempts to use the AVSIM website results in extremely lengthy loading delays and several times where pages simply never come up at all. I access the rest of the internet without any issues whatsoever, so I'm puzzled that I'm having trouble accessing AVSIM. Any thoughts? Ideas?

I'm probably missing something very obvious, but it wouldn't be the first time! I went into my profile and checked the setting for Private Message but this option does not show when I click on my User Name. What else do I have to do? Thanks.

Hello everyone. I would like to ask if it is possible to move that avsim/donate/follow banner under the group navigation menu so posts themselves could be wider. Like this: You know, 16:9 displays are very popular (unfortunately), but some of us folks still using non-wide monitors. Thanks!

Hello, I hope this is the correct forum? I use Tapatalk for iPhone and have no problems viewing forums however I'm unable to view the RealAir Lancair group (http://forum.avsim.net/groups/45-realair-lancair-legacy-owners-club/) on Tapatalk although I'm a member of the group. Whenever I click on it I'm asked for a password and get a error message when I enter my Avsim password. Any suggestions please? thanks Paul

Hello everyone! I have a problem with AVSIM registration, it says my email address (call it the "real one" from now on) is already in use. And that is not true, i think. This account was made with an address currently in disuse. Some time before, i used to log in with a Facebook account, which was made with the "real" address by the way. I have already requested a new password and the mail says my username is my Facebook name! If i try lo login with the "real" address and the new password sent i can't. Is it just me or do others have issues while posting? Many times I'll type in what I want and hit post and the forum will hang (with the Green Box and the small white "processing" squares in it above the post. And it does not post).

Hello, If I turn on the "Faces of AVSIM" option the forum from page does not display properly. If I tun that option off all is well. Anything special needed for that option to work or are you all still working out the bugs? Im using Internet Explorer 8. Thanks!
