HiI was wondering what people's experience is of using FSX compared to FS.9. I am still using FS.9 mainly because I have heard that FSX is far more resource dependant which I suppose will pull down frame rates. Is this correct?At the moment while flying at 27k I get with default aircraft 50/60 fps and 30/50 with add-on aircraft. Which is just about good even though I still see shuttered when on the ground.regardskrishan

Frequently the FAA changes and or adds new GPS approaches to airports. In Flight Sim 2004, is it possible to make these changes or additions to the GPS's?

Hi everyone, I've heard that there is a program that works in FS9, that is not the regular auto-pilot... It's a special auto-pilot that can fly you the whole flight automatically without doing a thing. So, is it true and does anyone know what it is called?

I want to get into the CFG files for the FS9 Cessna 172 and tweak the elevator trim values.This is the path I took but with no success.C: > Program Files > Microsoft Games > Flight Simulator 9 > aircraft > C 172 > aircraft CFG File. When I open "aircraft CFG File" I get a small window that says, "The reguested flight file is corrupt or can't be found." Then you're ask to click "Abort" which then takes one back to the previous "aircraft CFG File" icon. A dead end it seems. Thoughts or ideas? Thank you.Roger

Good morning,since my system was totally unstable, I cleaned up my system and it really showed me some progress . . .Then I reinstalled FS9 plus SP1 and had the following result :After I made my first settings and MINIMIZED FS9 to make other settings - and after reopening FS9 the screen went black and only the choosen airplane from FS9 was turning around in a small window ! No mouse was seen anymore and the ONLY possibility was to open the task mgr and close the FS9 task - a window came up : The program does not work anymore and close it immediately.So I formatted the HDD for FS9 and reinstalled it again - now w/o the SP1 - with the same result . . . !I never had this be…

Hello all,I'm flying PMDG 737-800 & 747-400. I recently purchaced FsPassengers. Without FsP everything runs smoothly.With an FsP flight however, upon final aproach when lined up for touch down, at app. 300ft the autopilot disengages itself and I get al kinds of config warnings. The line up for the runway changes a little to the left (while the aircraft maintains a straight line) and the aircraft goes in TO/GA mode by itself. When I attempt to correct and perform a go-around, the aircraft crashes at the end of the runway.As said before, this only happens when I make use of FsP. I tried all kinds of settings already but it keeps doing it.Any of you knows how to solve th…

I downloaded Loaded the Ultimate Gulfstream 3 AI and I need to put the callsigns in to the FS and it says to use EditVoicePack.....Dose anyone know where to find it. I've seen something on TTools by Lee Swordy. Hello all,I am in the process of looking for a new computer (mainly to run fs and a few other games). I have been looking around at posts (on this forum and other reviews) and have a pretty good idea of what I am looking for. Hopefully I will be sorted by Christmas. I am after some advice regarding add-ons! I will be going to a gamers show next week and I will have my eyes peeled for some good buys and just wanted to know what fs add-ons (freeware or payware) come recommend and what I should be looking for? I have a joystick and a wheel connected to my computer...if I leave the wheel plugged it, it interferes with FS2004...if I unplug the wheel, the next time I go to run rFactor, I have to reset all the buttons and controls for the wheel...any way to disable the wheel w/o actually unplugging it from the pc?tks!

Has anyone had trouble installing this airport from FRF Studio(avsim download). I cannot get any textures on the main buildings even though I followed the installation instructions to put the textures into Addon scenerytexture folder if normal installation procedures caused a problem.Regards

Just installed FS9 (9.1) under Vista with no probs. All goes well until i try to load or save or flight.I'm seeing EMPTY boxes for load a flight, and if i try to save one, i get an error message 'invalid filename'.Can anyone help me with this please?Thanks

Can someone point me to some good website about it? I wish to learn more and detailed about it...For example, I hear sometimes people report "Speedbird 565, with information zulu". I gathered it has something to do with weather? And if so, then how do you know which "information" you have...delta, alpha, zulu...?Another thing that I would need is, a website that has detailed descriptions of non-precision approaches - non ILS. On how to fly without those PMDG FMCs and Nav-Helps. hi all,I have downloaded the so expected Fokker fellowship !!! But as i load the aircraft from the tutorial flight everything is fine but when i press S to have the 2D Cockpit view in half a second FS9 suddently shut down without any error message ! I know, I know, this is not the PMDG forum; however, I've posted there and no replies and I don't think I'm going to get any, so here goes on the FS2004 forum:On approach in the 747-400, after filling out the APPROACH REF page, I observe the small green flap markers on the left side of the PFD, by the speed tape. When dropping the flaps and slowing down during approach, I have the following setttings: UP, 1, 5, 10, 20, and REF. There is no marker for 25 or 30. When I drop to flaps 20, the green "20" disappears immediately and all that remains for the balance of the approach is REF. Is it supposed to be this way? Why do I think I am missing at least the flap 25 marker…

I found some new autogen trees last night, tried them out and they're quite nice but look too big compared to the autogen buildings. Hey all,I'm in a bind! My older computer just isn't making a good go for FS, and until I win a lottery or something, a new rig is out of the question. A friend of mine suggested 'unification' and FS-GS.com I went to the site, and it looks to be what I'm after, but I don't think it is still up and running. I sent an email, but it bounced back. I searched this (and other) forums, and it seems that the latest account was back in late last year (06).Does anyone know if the service is still up and running? HiAnyone know if it is possible to perform a quick save is fs9 - by quick save i mean saving with just one key press rather than the usual "save as" approach where you're prompted to (re)select the name of the flight to be saved.Unfortunately i can't use the Peter Dowson's autosave facility as it's not totally compatible with LDS's 767.
