	Hello, after a long hiatus, I decided to fly to Portland after freshly installing Portland 2010. Before taking a flight, I slewed around to check things out, and all seemed ok.  Looked nice too.
</p>

<p>
	Next up was an edit to the afcad file "Portland_KPDX_ADE9_PH" (located in the main Portland folders scenery folder) to tweak a couple of radius  parameters to match my personal values for certain planes. The issue: whether I make one edit or many, after I save the afcad file and get into the sim, default airport scenery mixes in with the addon airport scenery.
</p>

<p>
	When in AFCAD and selecting KPDX, it only displays the default and addon file, and I am always selecting and editing the addon file that came with the scenery.  I've tried renaming the file, moving it from the Portland folder to the addon scenery folder with same results, and I can't seem to figure why I can't successfully edit the file included in the download.
</p>

<p>
	I thank you all ahead of time for any suggestions and info you provide.
</p>

<p>
	Best,

	It's great that RFP 747-200 has become freeware, I'm enjoying getting to grips with this great Classic. Like many others have found, the freeware didn't come with the Passenger and Cargo Loaders as well as the Takeoff Performance Calculator, Fuel Planner and S-Combo. I have tried some of the old links for these items but to no avail. Is there some currently live link, place or person I could bother for them? Any answer of Yes/No/You've got to be kidding would be appreciated. Cheers

	Hi
</p>

<p>
	I have come across a weird problem in fs9 yesterday. Firstly all my saved flights did not show up when I went to Select Flight and secondly when I went to save a flight - typed in the name and hit save, up came a box saying 'Invalid name - Flight will not be saved', also no listing of my previously saved flights.
</p>

<p>
	anyone any ideas of whats gone wrong please?
</p>

<p>
	I have created a folder in the main FS9 Flights folder calling it my flights and copied all my saved flights to it from C/users etc. . . and at least I can now access them again.
</p>

<p>
	Can any one help?
</p>

<p>
	The only thing I did prior to this was to add an ai aircraft into my aircraft folder. All was working fine before that but I cannot see how that action could cause this problem.

<p>
	Does anyone have that same sight texture? I have my sight distance set to maximum but I don't know if there's more to it. As you see this square surrounding above water or land, in my case here it's water. If you also fly high altitude you will notice it. I'm wondering is there a fix for it? Or disable such thing, anything...

	Hi All,
</p>

<p>
	I've finnished installing my new CVN65 (USS Enterprise) aircraft carrier "off Puero Rico" and have gotten the catapult launching and arrestor cable systems working as they should. But now and just as a small visible extra, I'm missing the small animated steam plume "effect" at the beginning of it's catapult rail.
</p>

<p>
	I have such a steam plume effect correctly positioned on my Waikato carrier and am now searching for a method to get the same plume visible on my new CVN65 carrier.
</p>

<p>
	I've (test-)disassembled the Waikato BGL file concerned, have tried to edit all the geographical positioning/elevation data found therein, but try as I may, nothing seems to (want to) work. I have not touched any of the complex looking animation programming and could not find any "call" for any effect name either, so I'm most probably following a wrong path.
</p>

<p>
	Ideas anyone ?
</p>

	Trying to repaint an aircraft texture.
</p>

<p>
	Using DXTBMP to load the file, then sending it to paint.net.
</p>

<p>
	I think the problem is in paint.net... I make my changes on paint.net, I make sure any layers are merged into one before I save. Once I'm finished with paint.net, I'll select "reload after edit" on dxtbmp, which will show the edited texture. Then...
</p>

<p>
	I either "save as extended bitmap-888", or "DXT 1" (or 3).
</p>

<p>
	Then I'll drop the edited texture into my aircraft folder, only to see that <em>no changes</em> have been made to the original texture when I run the sim.
</p>

<p>
	Not sure where the problem exists... thoughts?

	Hi All,
</p>

<p>
	I've downloaded and installed a static aircraft carrier scenery but it's flight deck is not hard, which keeps resulting in any opened flight having it's chosen aircraft sitting on the sea below the carrier's flight deck.
</p>

<p>
	The carrier's Afcad flight deck is at the correct elevaion and a "flatten" of any size/combination does not seem to want to work either.

	Can anyone give our little buddy Deadl some help? He has recently chosen to go to Windows 10 and is having a ton of problems. Read below:<br />
	<br />
	<span style="color:#e74c3c;"><em>"<font style="vertical-align:inherit;"><font style="vertical-align:inherit;">The scenery is actually quite nice. Unfortunately, I have a problem. It doesn't happen with Stuttgart, Munich, or even Frankfurt – but with the mega-airport Erfurt! Every time I load this scenery from Aerosoft, my new computer freezes. I can do whatever I want, but after a few minutes it just stops. Even without AI traffic.</font></font></em></span>
</p>

	<span style="color:#e74c3c;"><em><font style="vertical-align:inherit;"><font style="vertical-align:inherit;">I think I read something about that in the AS forum a long time ago. It's no longer searchable on Google. And I don't want to contact AS about it. I don't want to tell them that I'm flying FS2004 and Erfurt is killing the sim. They'd probably just suggest I switch platforms.</font></font></em></span>
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;border:0px;color:#3a3a3d;font-size:15px;padding:0px;text-align:left;">
	<span style="color:#e74c3c;"><em><font style="vertical-align:inherit;"><font style="vertical-align:inherit;">Is there anything that can be salvaged? Or should I just pour the whole scene down the sink, stirring constantly? That would be a real shame...</font></font></em></span>

	<font style="vertical-align:inherit;"><font style="vertical-align:inherit;"><span style="color:#e74c3c;"><em>Dedl"</em></span><br />
	<br />
	<br />
	Does anyone here have suggestions for him? I cannot think of anything other than for him to contact Aerosoft. Of course he will need a <u>receipt</u> of purchase. To me it seems to be the most logical decision. Thank you.</font></font>

	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After a little over a year of design work, testing and more prototypes than I can count, I finally reached a point where I’m happy with the <strong>Project-X GA modules</strong> I’ve been building.
</p>

<p>
	The goal from the beginning was simple — create <strong>solid, realistic, plug-and-play controls inspired by General Aviation aircraft</strong>, something that actually feels right in the hand and not like a toy.
</p>

<p>
	Everything went through multiple revisions until it felt mechanically right and reliable. It’s been a long process but a really fun one.
</p>

<p>
	Just wanted to share the result with the community that inspired a lot of this project. I’d love to hear what you guys think.
</p>

<p>
	If you are interested i added links to all the photos of all the modules below, still tons to come - currently finalizing transponder, autopilot and radio stack!
</p>

<p>
	Calm Skies to all!

	Hi All,

<p>
	Flying any helicopter is not really a problem for me but precision landing, e.g. on a heli pad, most certainly is, especially the pre-landing hovering part at very low altitude and the then letting it settle down exactly on the "H", mostly in forward 2D panel cockpit view mode.
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone been able to do this correctly and has any advice for me ?

<p>
	I'm using the standard flight yolk, rudder pedals and power slider, which all work correctly.

	Dedl,
</p>

<p>
	Several folks in another forum were giggling and discussing how you were experiencing multiple problems with your new installation of FS9 on Windows 11. Don't listen to them.<br />
	<br />
	While Windows 7 was always the best platform to run FS9 on, FS9 WILL RUN on Windows 11. However, you may have some issues with your payware FSX converted sceneries for FS9. Not sure why. But some tech savvy guys have stated that Win 11 is good at sniffing out all kinds of software it deems harmful or controversial. These new AI algorithms are something else. <br />

	Hope you get it figured out. <img alt=":happy:" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="//bucket-classabb4b6de-f0f3-41fc-b42f-e9776c8572d8.avsim.com/emoticons/happy.png" srcset="//bucket-classabb4b6de-f0f3-41fc-b42f-e9776c8572d8.avsim.com/emoticons/happy@2x.png 2x" title=":happy:" width="20" />

		I've been getting pretty good at adding AI traffic, but the AI Malcontent DC-10 is the exception.<br />
		<br />
		Aircraft.cfg has wingspan at 126.46ft (38.55m). Wiki says a DC-10-30 wingspan is 165 ft 4 in / 50.39 m.<br />
		<br />
		AI- Aircraft Editor shows that the parking radius set at 30m. AI Aircraft Radius Table has 39m for a DC-10. Changed parking radius in the AI - Aircraft Editor from 30m to 39m. Checked afcads for 39m parking, changing one parking spot from 38m to 39m. No showing up.<br />
		<br />
		Also checked parking codes and missing alpha channels.<br />
		<br />
		The only thing I haven't tried is kicking the tires<br />
		<br />
		I have the CDAI DC-10-40 (Japan Airlines) and it works fine. Aircraft.cfg wingspan is set at 211 ft and under [General] shows atc_type=BOEING<br />
		atc_model=B744<br />
		<br />
		Have I missed checking anything else?

		I'm new to FS2004 and I'm looking for a safe, working download link for the full game (not just mods). I've tried some sites but they don't work in my region.

		If anyone has a reliable mirror or backup they can share, I'd really appreciate it!

Most of them come with a basic paint kit as well as a livery or two for your flying and repainting pleasure. Because of the KISS development process used by Mike the aircraft are very economical in their use within the simulator and not only are very good for general aviation but also make excellent AI traffic aircraft.A small advertising picture which shows some of the 100+ aircraft available - Civil, Military, Fantasy Aircraft from all ages.<img src="http://www.gjsmith.com/top-100-mike.gif" alt="top-100-mike.gif" loading="lazy">On this site, that provides Mike's aircraft for download, you will also find that over 30% of those aircraft have FREE repaints available from my site as well - links exist to allow you to have easy access to the additional repaints. Hello,<br />
	<br />
	I am still dedicated to FS2004. I use it regularly and still get a lot of pleasure from it.<br />
	One of the scenery i miss is Cloud9 Bergen. When it was released it was stunning and groundbraking. Still it is a beautifull scenery. <br />
	Cloud9 doesn't exist anymore and after contact with Dreamfactory it isn't available anymore. It must be activated on Esellarate but it close in 2019.<br />
	<br />
	My question if there is somebody who can help me with this beautiful scenery. <br />

	<span style="font-size:12px;">Hi everyone,</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">I’m having a very frustrating issue with the Tupolev 134 addon in FS2004 (FS9) — the sounds (cockpit buttons, announcements, specific aircraft audio) work perfectly on one PC (laptop - WindoS 7), but on my main simulator PC (desk computer - window 10) they don’t play at all, even though:</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">• The exact same files were copied from the working PC</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">• All audio works for other aircraft on the simulator PC</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">• I tried registry fixes, FSSoundDLL prompt, reinstalling the Tu‑134 addon, checked all Windows audio settings, restored the system, and compared settings between both PCs</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">• FS2004 is installed in the same relative location with the same config</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">I suspect something machine/environment specific but I’ve been unable to identify what it is.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">What I have tried so far:</span>
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Copied identical files from the working PC</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Reinstalled the Tu‑134 addon</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Tested FSSound and allowed DLL loading</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Restored Windows registry with system restore</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Verified audio device, sample rates, Windows configuration</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Compared registry and FS9 settings between both PCs</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">No antivirus or permission issues</span>
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">Symptoms on the simulator PC:</span>
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Engine sounds play</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Standard FS9 sounds play</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">Specific sounds for this aircraft do not play</span>
	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:12px;">No errors beyond FSSound DLL load prompt</span>
	</li>
</ul>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">Question:</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">Has anyone seen this behavior before? Any obscure setting or registry entry that could explain why this aircraft’s sounds won’t play on one machine but do on another with the same files?</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12px;">Thanks in advance for any help!</span>
</p>
