I downloaded and installed GPSout tonight. I have an airmap 600c that I am trying to configure so that FS2004 can send it NMEA data. I have an imac, so no serial port. I bought a usb to serial converter cable, and have the gps connected through that.I suspect that is the issue - the unit recieves no data from FS2004.How do I get FS2004 to control the unit?I have set the comm port on the Gps to:9600 baudNMEA GPS Input and configured the NMEA protocols to: GLL, GGA, GSA and GSV, RMC and RMBI included Sentences=RMC,GGA, GLLSeems like it should work, but I get no update at all on the GPS.What Am I missing?Do I have to do voodoo magic on Windows XP to get the GPSout progra…

Is there a space shuttle for fs9 that will go beyond the 99,999 feet barrier? Or is it even possible to break the 99,999 feet barrier? Thanks

There is a folder under c:documents and settingsuserapplication datamicrosoftfs9 entitled aircraft. In that folder I found a large series of folders for aircraft that I deleted monthsyears ago. Is there any reason to keep the old no longer used aircraft folders? This is just a question about cleaning up my system.ThanksTom

Can anyone tell me off the top of their head which heavies out there can simulate a fuel dump before landing? I'm sure there is a technical term for that but I call it the vapor trails on final? Can be payware or freeware.thx,

All this weekend (11/17 and 18/2007) when I was about 2 hours out of KBOS, and cruising smoothly along with FSNavigator's auto pilot feature in control in the POSKY 737-700, the aircraft inexplicably went bananas. It started pitching and banking, slowly at first, but then more violently. It seemed hard to believe what my instruments were telling me: I started getting over speed warnings even when my airspeed indicator showed as low as 210 kts. The sim seemed to refresh the scenery for a split second, and then my panels indicated that I was suddenly and inexplicably at FL 470 and 540 knots, up from FL 310 and 290 kts. Hi all,I was interested if there are any opinions on if the Bulfer FMC and Cockpit Companion books would be useful for learning the PMDG and level-D planes, etc. I'm particularly interested in the FMC guide; is it too technical for non-pilots? I have the Mike Ray books and I like these, but I was wondering what the opinions are about the Bill Bulfer books for SIM uses?WILCO publishing has them on CD.

Noticed there seems to be a lot of water texture problems lately.....here's mine!This started awhile back, but water (lakes, rivers, etc) would change to a very light (almost horizon color), but only when looking out of a 2D panel. Switching to spot view or VC panel, the water would be the correct color. Switching back to 2D, the water would be ok for some seconds before switching to the light color again.But lately, I started flying more around the oceans, so the problem has become a major pain. I have somewhat of a mystery going on here. A couple of weeks ago, I used FSACC to check my roster of planes for errors and it worked fine. Yesterday I wanted to use it to change the sound cfg file for Milton Shupe's Beech d-18 and FSACC told me there was no FS2004 installed on my machine. I have not added nor changed any files except for flight plans. This is on my gaming machine that does not connect to the internet and only gets files that have been checked with three different antivirus and two spyware programs. Any clue would be greatly appreciated.

While flying in the dawn and evening over the ocean, the water textures appear to be presented as multiple large rectangles of slightly different colors. Eventually they become a more uniform color. Anyone seen this? What causes it and most importantly how can it be corrected? I have a pretty good PC system with a top of the line video card. Thanks, Al

Anybody know the status of this product/website. It seems to be down or no longer supported which is a huge shame. Its a great addon. I cant install my download of this software because it needs to up link with the maker which seems to be no more.

Hello avsim community,I'm having some major issues with FS9 and vista all of a sudden. I recently reformatted my HD (yesterday) and today I reinstalled all of my programs and Vista again. I had been running vista and everything on the exact same setup prior to the reformat, I just wanted to clean my HD out and increase speed. Anyway not the point...The problem is when I open a flight in FS9 and try and do ANYTHING that involves changing the display (Shift-Z, S-key, Shift+1,2,3), the screen freezes. I've several repaints that make vague reference to "you need the FSP A306model from Avsim."But when I try to search for FSP A306 or FSP A300-600, or even FSPainterA306, etc.,etc., I get no joy---only repaint after repaint of iFDG's,posky's, project airbus, and on and on, however NO FSP models.Could some kind soul point me in the right direction here?Many thanks,4deucer

I recently installed FS2004 and every time I load an aircraft the trim goes wild. It goes completely down and won't budge. This happens for all aircraft. Also, the autopilot doesn't seem to work. This is on a newly installed game and I haven't added any add-ons yet.It really irks me, andyone have any solutions?

I have 2 folders in the FS9 main directory one of which is named "texture" and the other "textures". I believe that the "textures" (plural) was inserted by an add-on that came with its' own installer, but I don't know which one.What could happen if I combined the contents of the "textures" folder with the "texture" folder and deleted the empty folder? This also causes a little confusion with other add-ons that allow you to install manually. Which folder would the new textures go into? What I've done is if the new folder is singular, I put it into the corresponding folder and the same if the new folder is plural.Does the add-on in FS refer to the specific folder name?Thank…

I am having trouble with SB I can not get my microphone/headset to calibrate correctly under SB but under windows XP using the test I can speak and hear just fine also when I go to connect under SB nothing comes up in the Server list even when I type in a server nothing happens I need help please I live in the Atlanta area if anyone is also online flying from atlanta Thanks chris

HELLO AllI recently posted an item about the difficulties i was having with the IDFG MD11 and the ALAIN CAPT panel,ie lots of lag and greyed out textures as i cycled the various views etc in fact an almost unusable combination,i did wonder if it was something to do with the complexity of the panel but it wasnt that at all(must have been an issue with textures themselves ) so if you are having similar performance problems with the IFDG MDs you can download a FREE MD11 model by OVERLAND(AVSIM or SIMFLIGHT COM)instead and that works perfectly with the ALAIN CAPT panel ie no lag or greyed out plane or waiting seconds for the virtual cockpit view(Even without one)and finally…

Wishing to explore the new excellent Klagenfut scenery I faced an error while on finals approach. FS9 thanked me for flying giving msvcr70.dll as the reason. It brought my attention to all those module files in my main FS folder. I happen to have as many as 18 of them. And I am not even talking about the Module folder where I've got 50!Guess all modules are read by MFS on start-up and it must influence its performance somehow.Various applications install various modules and the collection, as seen on my example, may grow to quite a significant size.My questions are:1. Hi,For the first time I have encountered blurry textures on a commercial addon, the Croatia Airlines repaints of A319/A320 for Feelthere Wilco Airbus Vol 1. I understand that blurry textures occur because of MIPMAPS, but I checked using Imagetool.exe, these repaints (I got flightsim.com) do not have mips.All my other flyable aircraft repaints work fine, no blurries. I have not changed or modified any of my settings in FS9. I attached the screenshots so you can see. The EasyJet one is normal, Croatia airlines is blurry.Thanks!

Why does all fs9 water change suddenly from a light color to a darker blue several minutes after starting the flight? In my case, this occurs anywhere, any time of day and on any computer. I have UT USA installed, but I'm not aware of any other addon water textures. Thanks.

Has 16L ils changed it's freq? I have the latest navdata and when I was going into 16L my feelthere 733 had 111.5 for 16L. As did my other addons. But ms has 109.5 and so did airnav.com for 16L. Do I need to change the freq in my afcad? or is there a mistake in the lates update 0711.
