Of late the textures of some static and AI (UT2) aircraft seem to be taking longer to load (in some cases not loading at all). Could something be be blocking or causing the textures to take longer to load? I have been adding a lot of scenery files and I wonder if this may have something to do with this. Two sceneries I've noticed this occurring at is the addon scenery of the Terrace, BC airport and at the default Newcastle, UK airport scenery (which would seemed to rule out overloading FS2004 with addon scenery, if this is even possible, as the culprit).I hadn't fragmented my FS hard drive for quite a while, but I did so recently to apparently no effect...

I took my HJG DC-9-50 out for a flight today from KDTW-KORD as per real world routing and used VORs to navigate. I noticed that my VOR indicator will always show my plane is offset from the radial and will only show it is on course if I'm about 5nm to the left of the course (whether this is north south east or west).I've been away from jets for a while especially the older ones but I remember on the TinMouse 732 it also did this until I found a little switch with writing that was too small to read. When pressed, the VOR indicator would to swing to wherever the plane actually was but when turned off it would go back to being constantly 5nm off.From this memory I assume thi…

I just had this idea to start a "I bought iFly" thread. I'm curious how long it can get if every one who bought posts a quick "I did" and maybe an emotion to show how you like it. I DID.

I want to delete 1 or 2 of the Swedflight sceneries and I would like to know what files were installed by the installer. I know I can just delete the individual airport folders like normal but was there anything else installed? Like maybe files changed in the scenery/Eurw/scenery folder.

Hi folks, I have re-installed my Fs2004 a few times - (I had to!) - and somehow I have lost the Radio Ident signals, e.g Markers,Nav1, Nav2 idents.Has anybody had this silly glitch ever? Please help!

Is there any way to move the main FS aircraft folder out of the FS installation folder and still have FS see the aircraft? I ask because I am thinking of installing FS9 and FSX onto an 80GB SSD drive, along with the OS (Win7 64 bit). (Does that sound a good idea?). 80GBs would accommodate the OS and the two default installations with ease, but I have over 40GBs of a/c to add. If not, I could move the a/c I am flying into the main folder of course as I fly them (keeping just the default Cessna and all AI a/c in the fs9/aircraft folder permanently) - in fact I do that already to help with loading times, but am curious to know if I can make FS look for aircraft outside the F…

Sorry if this have been asked before (I imagine that it has), but I'm too lazy / stupid to dig through the thousands of old posts to see if i can find a similar topic.I havent flown FS9 in years, however, I did a flight today, and after about 2 hours I got a popup telling me that FS9 had run out of memory. I have a 6 gb system. So, since FS9.exe is a 32 bit executable, do I have to patch it with Daniel Pistellis 4GB patch to be able to avoid OOM errors, or is this another issue altogether?-Wim

Flight One Conquest II 441, low engine RPM problem.Flight One Conquest II 441 (FS9.1), I can manually start the engines ok but I only get 71% MAX RPM for takeoff and the rest of the flight. It then takes a good bit of takeoff speed and extra runway length to get off the ground and the climb rate is also now much lower.If I use autostart, both engines give 100% for takeoff and the rest of the flight.I cannot figure out I am doing wrong with the manual start to cause the low available maximum engine RPM.

I'm mostly an FSX person now, but the 737NG from iFly looks to be spectacular and I've really been waiting for a great 737. I must say overall I am more of a systems person than a good looks and that is why the PMDG NG for FS9 has fallen by the wayside for me. After talking to some people who have the aircraft, I have just a couple questions.1. Most important, I've heard some people say that they have had difficulty assigning custom keyboard commands from the iFly menu to button presses in FSUIPC. I seem to vaguely recall that the FS2004 startup main menu could be turned off and FS2004 would load the default flight on startup instead. I've checked the box to make a particular flight the default flight repeatedly but when I restart FS2004 I get the main startup menu screen instead. When I go back and click on the name of the flight I had previously made the default flight the check box is unchecked again. Have I messed up FS2004 somehow? Anyhow, if someone could please jog my memory on how to turn on/off the main startup window, I'd appreciate it!

Hello allI have spent a good deal of time today flying approaches into KAI TAK and what a hoot when you get it "RIGHT ON" lol. My question is : How do I get A1 traffic to work at this airport. At present there is no traffic at all. Thanks in advance..........John.Help not needed I found my answer.

Hey all,I have a wierd problem. I can't seem to be able to install add-on airports. I navigate to the "Add-On Scenery" folder via the Scenery Library tab in FS9, click the folder of the add-on airport I want to "enable", the name appears on the line below, and when I click "OK" an empty folder appears. This happens with EVERY add-on airport I try to install (I haven't tried with add-on scenery,,,though I have GE Pro and UT installed).The sim doesn't freeze up or anything, I just can't seem to enable anything.Any ideas here?Thanks!*EDIT* NM, got it worked out.

Just bought PFE and want to set it up networked but neither PF-2000 nor PFE is seeing my network drives.If anyone has this working could you please give me a step-by-step. I have RC, FSC ans ASE networked so I know the network is ok.)Nicholas

The scenery by Shehryar Ansari for Ontario International Airport is outstanding! However I have encountered an issue with it (other than the incredible effect it has on my frame rate!). The gates near terminal one seem to float a few feet off the ground. I parked a Fokker F100 at one and the tops of the main gear wheels are barely visible. Only the parts of a plane that extend out beyond the gate texture cast a shadow. I edited the scenery.cfg file as the author suggests to correct elevation issues reported by megascenery users but this didn't fix the problem. The Inuvik (CYXT) addon scenery seems have taken a dislike to any Tinmouse II B737-200 or to be more precise, the TM2's panel! Actually, loading a TM2 737-200 at Inuvik is no problem. However, switching to the main panel window immediately causes FS9 to crash. I've got no clue what is going on here. The problem hasn't occurred at any other add on airport I've tested with a TM2 plane...

Well I've finally done it...On launch of a flight my FS9 is giving me a .dll error and crash. Only with addons, I should mention. Apparently the Gdiplus.dll. Anyone had this issue?I've been searching the forums and will continue to do so in the mean time.

Hey everybody,I hope this is the right forum for this post.Ever since I've installed FS9 on a Windows 7 32-bit system I've been getting problems with ground textures in that only the texture tiles right underneath the plane are loaded sharply, and the other tiles are just blurry, the closer ones less, the father ones more (Extended terrain textures turned ON). I am hoping someone can help me as I am not able to figure out whats wrong with my conection to squawkbox with fs9. I have windows xp64 newly installed and I am trying to get back on line with squawkbox. I have installed SB3 and I have tried SB4 also but they both run into the same trouble as I end up with a message saying unable to initiate a multiplayer connection and squawkbox closes. I have rau the dxdiag test as instructed by SB and it shows all conections are working okay and routing correctly but SB will not connect to a multiplayer. I have tried manualy setting the IP address in fs9 multiplayer but thet does not detect any sessions to join either and I now do not …

Hey All,I was loading up a flight today to use the WILCO 700/900 series CRJ and the nose/left main gear seem to have a contact issue. I had recently added new paint schemes and have read that those are the issues, however, every forum links to an outside forum page that does not exsist. The other day, I started a topic at http://www.flightsimtools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=315 to see if they could make fsx scenery to be converted to use in fs9. We maybe getting this option in the near future.Just think how great it would be to have orbx or even the NEW MegaSceneryX for fsx in your fs9. I reinstalled FS9 today and I had a bit of an oddityOn my start menu an icon titled "Flight Instructor" was added; I clicked on it and it opened up the FS2004 title screen with "Flight Instructor" written in the lower left hand corner. Then it began a multiplayer setup wanting to know my instructor callsign. What is this? I must have installed FS9 at least 5 times before this and I've never once seen this.
