Most of the time I do not have any problems with CTDs in all of my addon planes except the Eaglesoft Citation 2.0X which dies a slow death (not an immediate CTD) after running it in a flight after 1-1.5 hrs. I have an Alienware 64 bit Rig running Windows 7. The other specs are:3.20 gigahertz Intel Core i7 96032 kilobyte primary memory cache1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache8192 kilobyte tertiary memory cache12Ghz of RAMThe Citation is probably the most complex of my addons, it's got a lot going-on, after about an hour inflight, one of the MFDs becomes inoperable. I've checked on the Windows Task Manager and noticed that 3 of my 8 cores on the processor are maxed-out.…

I was hoping that someone with FSX can help me here. I just completed and "upgrade" to WinXP x64 (got tired of PMDG missing textures) and ever since, have been getting random terrain.dll errors leading to a CTD. It usually happens 1-2 hours into a flight. I believe that this is related to Ultimate Terrain USA and Europe (where I have been getting the CTDs, I believe related to OOM issues) but not sure, and internet traffic regarding this is less than helpful. I did the re-install following Nick N's setup guide. I show no duplicate files when checking through the setup tools. Order of installation was:1. Computer related stuff (nvidia driver is 182.50)1a. FSX2. Acce…

Hi there. This is pretty much it. Recently, after I changed a few windows features, I went to fly and saw that my Ariane 737 wasn't loading its activation. Figuring it was just on the fritz again, I went to fly the Wilco 737. Same thing, gauges did not initialize. Both of them require external .dlls to function that don't seem to be loading. I tried removing other addons, fixing the dll.xml file, repairing Flight Sim. All that. I also changed the settings back to the way they were, nothing. (the features ones). When I restored FSX, they worked for a while, then after restarting the computer, they had the same issue again. Now, I cannot for the life of me figure it out, bu…

Fellow simmers, I've recently purchased a new custom computer, and it seems that my sound isn't quite right yet. The exact problem is as follows: Flight Simulator plays most sounds correctly, but on certain sounds (both addon and default), when it's supposed to loop, it pops loudly, then loops. I get around it by using another sound set sometimes, but when the "popping" is coming from a sound embedded in the planes gauges, it's hard to get around. I've adjusted the sound quality, my settings are more than reasonable for my cpu, tried limiting the framerate, tried updating sound card drivers, used different drivers, changed surround settings on the cpu, tried buffe…

I have recently purchased the Aerosoft Airbus X package. As such, I have also contacted them for support but so far, this is a completely new problem for them, so hoping someone here may have seen this and found a fix... it is quite possible that it is an FSX problem, not an Aerosoft bug.The Airbus X package installs fine, no errors. I used Run as Administrator to run the installer, and always run FSX as Admin also. What happens is this:After finishing a flight with any one of the Airbus X aircraft versions, pressing Escape key and selecting yes to end flight, the Control Panel (the one where you select aircraft type, location, time and weather etc) is no longer placed ce…

Good day all,I have been experiencing system crahses for the past few months and I am out of ideas on how to get things stable again.Since this started I have gone through many threads regarding fixes, tuning etc. I have reinstalled my pc using NickN's guide and settings and have followed those step by step. The problems started when using Vista 64 and now seem to continue after I upgraded to Win7 64. Guys i recently switched back to FSX, after installing the updates, a couple of sceneries, Quality Sim 757 and WOI Traffic. I can't finish a flight without a system crash, sometimes it is even during the begining stages of the preflight. Okay after adding Ejets from Feelthere to my FSX INSTALL on my WIN XP Drive, I was missing the following dll files from my PMDG 747, main.dll, acs.dll & Overhead.dll when I tried to load my 747. I also lost my add-ons, Lvl-d, Fsdream, Pmdg to name a few. I would like to know if there is a fix that won't mess up my dll's when I install the Feelthere E-JETS into my FSX on my WIN7 Ultimate drive?Don

Hi guys,Over the past few weeks/months, I have been getting a large number of crashes in FSX with the message "FSX has stopped working." I went into the event viewer, and it seems like every time this crash occurs, the faulting module is "nvd3dum.dll." I have done some research, and it seems like this is due to a video card driver issue, and is fixable by simply updating your drivers. However, I do have the latest Nvidia drivers yet the problem still persists. I know for certain that this has not been going on for a very long time, as I said it probably started to occur frequently about 1 month or two ago. It has gotten to the point where FSX will crash with an error…

Hi there,Well, I had FSX running smoothly for a while now, that was until I decided to try out FSPassengersX again (demo).I then experienced crashes to desktop saying FSX had done a fatal error and was restarting. I have since uninstalled FSPX and won't even consider buying it, yet the errors still continue. I had a few last night, the most annoying was just as I was about to finish flying a STAR to land at Geneva! I get the fatal error message and then another error message box appears with the code '0xC000014B'. It allows me to view the error log in detail, which I've attached to this post in the hope someone can decipher it and advise what is causing the problems. I th…

Hi,the problem started a few flights agoI use FSX SDK traffic viewer a lot, to determine the runway in use for departure. If I click on an aircraft the viewer opens a window to display it. If I press "ì" (I have an italian keyboard, so I mean the key right to the left of backspace) to close the window FSX freezes and crashes. It's quite frustrating, can you help me?Thank you

After reinstalling FSX and a few add-ons, i did get this CTD immediately after FSX had started. Via Google i found the hint to run a reg cleaner, but that doesn't make really sense and it didn't help in my case. New drivers and a fresh FSX.cfg didn't help either. Then i did deactivate the preloading of scenery via the FSX.cfg ((DisablePreload=1). After that, FSX wasn't crashing immediately after its start. Now FSX did crash when i loaded a flight, so it was obvious that scenery files or textures caused the problem.I have a backup of a virgin FSX+XPack installation and i did copy the origianl FSX\texture folder in my new installation and that did solve my problem.I'm not sur…

Hello All --- well, just wanted to pass along my experiments and observations relative to the frustrating CTD issue in FSX.I have been testing over the past week, to try and isolate (by my own observations) any possible obvious actions I may have been taking to cause this.First, I am running a high-end system, Phenom II based, with 8 GB of RAM, and Windows 7 - 64 Bit. Totally stock, no overclocking or anything special attached, other than I am running McAfee anti-virus during all my test flights. I also had added earlier, the HIMEMFIX=1 parameter to the fsx.cfg file because it did help the frequency of the CTDs I was experiencing before. I tested five different aircraft, …

So I read on http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistagaming/thread/14fc20fa-9dca-465b-be42-146414087ec5 how to fix the Windows 7 and fatal error Fsx issue. The solution was to delete the UIAutomationCore.dll file from the Syswow64 and System32 folders. So I did that and it fixed the problem....... BUT now I can use windows movie maker to make videos. Any solutions besides use another program?:(

Hello,I do not currently have a problem with either CTDs or the BSOD, but I am making a note here in this forum because for a very long time, with successive FS systems, I had been plagued with both of these conditions from time to time. There can be many contributing causes at play in one or both of these gamestoppers, so I don't want to reinvent the wheel and recite all the lists of possible reasons and remedies. I think I have tried them all. Some helped, many didn't.One possible cause I kept hearing about but was reluctant to believe (because of the cost of a PSU swap-out) is that both of these conditions can, and will, be triggered if there is an inadequate or irregul…

Hi all,I'm probably just about the youngest member on this forum, but that's not what the topic is about.I have been playing FSX demo for a year, ever since I was 11. I had around 10 fps on my old box but now I am having a very weird problem. When I start FSX demo, the FSX demo thingie (the rectangle with the demo name that comes up before the main menu) comes up as usual, but if you open task manager it lists it as not responding. After around 2 minutes, it responds, then proceeds to the main menu, but at that same time, there comes up a message saying "Failed to read from file" and the only option is "OK". I have no idea what file, but after that FSX crashes straight to …
