Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

I keep getting a CTD during my flights with the PMDG MD-11. I will post the event log here and hope that someone has dealt with this before as I have no idea what the problem is except that according to the event log a certain dll. is causing the crash. I have this theory that my GTX 470 when I o/c it with MSI afterburner it crashes,.. I have no proof yet, but I think so... problem is, I can't remember what the out of the box default values/non overclocked settings should be and no hitting reset doesn't do it.can anyone help me out here?thanksBrian S

Hi allJust thought I would post what I have found in case it can help anyone else out there.My FSX while it never crashed, was suffering from a case of the stutters so I uninstalled it, updated my drivers, then reinstalled. Stutters gone thankfully but everytime I used FSX the PC would crash and reboot itself. This happened no matter where I was flying and the length of time it took to crash was totally random.For some reason I tried using FSX without first running Gamebooster, and hey guess what, no crash. Hi,I'm not sure if this should be posted here or not, if not i apologize. I have seen a similar problem described here once, but can't seem to find the post now i could use it!!So my problem is this. Most of my flights are a couple of hours duration, usually using PMDG MD11 or occasionally PMDG 747-400 around Europe, i have installed Ground Environment X and have the latest version 2 installed. The flight proceeds as expected until i start to descend towards my destination. Hi everyone,I was flying today with the PMDG Jetstream 4100 and I was on a 10 mile final for KBUR from KLAS. I got a CTD and I was wondering if anyone else has seen this happen.There were 2 errors. My specs are in my sig. I have uiautomation, Bojote's tuning tool, and Ryan's Nvidia tweaks stickied in the PMDG forums. No addon scenery. Not overclocked. I was on VATSIM at the time. Hi, when i Load my flight in Caracas up to 91% on the loading bar it crashes to desktop. This only happens in the day but at night i can access Caracas. I think it is an auto gen problem because its the only time i see auto gen being loaded, but if i fly in Maricabo it dosnt say it.Any advice?

Just saying... I installed XP on a second HD, run faster and no CTD all night yesterday???Also, if I don't OC more then ..3.6-8, no CTD.

Installd FSX three weeks ago, also SP 1 and 2 in proper order, in the last week I have had 3 CTDs with the dreaded blue circle and then shutdown. I have not used any add on. I get an error event ID 1000 Task Cat (100) Fault MODNAME ntdll.dll.In light of all the posts qnd frustations with this problem, is it easier to do a uninstall and clean restall.Will rename the FSX.cfg and letting FDX build a new file possibly cure this probem?Frustrated new FSX user, do not really want to revert to X Plane as FDX has so much more to offer.

Since purchasing the MAAM R4D FSX version with the expansion pack, I have been unable to activate the Overhead electrical panel using either the menu or the icon on the instrument panel. The aircraft is loaded into FSX with Windows7. As of this date I have not used the MAAM DC3 in Windows7 as I also have another PC with FS9 MAAM DC3 version. Is there a fix for this? I have tried the dll files that others have suggested with no resolution.CAL2024

I've got two planes which cause FSX SP2 to CTD when I try to load them. The SOH A-26 Invader, and Stuart Green's Pfalz DIIIA. I've installed them from scratch using the installer. I assume everything is there. I have installed the replacement textures available for FSX for the Invader that fix some invisible sections in the nose.They crash FSX whether I am trying to start them from the startup panel, or if I start with a default aircraft and then try to switch to them.Nothing special about the CTD. I have recently downloaded the R4D/DC 3 series aircraft from MAAM and cannot get the plane fired up either using the conventional method (per the manual) or even trying "control e." I queried MAAM about it and was told that some players reduced the frame rate below 30, but as mine was already at 20, this was no help. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there any ideas?

Im not sure this will help everyone, who has CTDs but I uninstalled ORBIX ,{ orbix anthing}, and low and behold no CTDs? Couldnt hurt you can always reinstall it .

When I set FSX affinity to realtime in the task manager, I get CTD's either immediately or when I move my viewpoint in the VC. Is there any fix for this because setting FSX to realtime affinity in the task manager increases my FPS.

Hello guys!I´ve purchased a new add-on from aerosoft. It needs the service pack 2 for FSX.Now I installed all and it works fine!But only flying. Where do start when trying to debug CTDs? I've been getting them with annoying frequency and with a range of modules implicated including g3d.dll, stackHash_0a9e, DINPUT8.dll and ntdll.dll. I have minimal fsx.cfg tweaks, default bios settings (mb P6X58D-E) , win 7 64, i7 960, nvidia 470 (this is factory OC @ 700mhz) 6 gig corsair 1600 ram (although with default bios settings the ram is set at 1066) Unfortunately I get the impression from this forum that CTDs plague a lot of users and there are no easy fixes. But perhaps someone could point me in the direction of the most common software and hardware issues that underlie CTDs. ThanksBruceb

Hi there! does anyone experience a FS9 shut down and restart in certain areas? mine occur at LEBL mostly,sometimes over northern Europe. Iv`e installed the 9.1 patch,but it still happens.My CTD`s have stopped completely (touch wood) since erasing all add on airports.
