Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

I have a brand new Aleinwear Auora desktop system running Windows 7, Most times I can not compleate a flight on flight sim, because 3/4 through the flight I get a fatal error and then the sim resets. I have done pretty much everything except a full reinstal, I am wondering is this a comatiblilty issue between MSFS X and win 7?This happens both when service pack 2 in instaled and not instaled, I dont think its the Alienware computer, it works great.any help would be apreciated

Hello gentlemen,In the past week I have switched between formatting/installing three different operating systems and going through the treacherous FSX reinstall and tuning process with all my add-ons to fix an incredibly annoying CTD problem.Only to find out the problem was a faulty GPU. So I have ordered a new card and will, fingers crossed, be doing a final format/reinstall/tune etc. etc. this upcoming week.I'd like to install everything on a Windows 7 system however, so my question is the uiautomationcore.dll fix recently stumbled upon definite? Fixes everything with no problems?Otherwise I'll be installing everything on an XP64 again.

Hey,I have a problem: I happily walk to my computer, start up FSX, go fly etc. and then after about 30-45 mins, it crashes. It first says 'not responding' and then 'restarting FSX'. This is a very recent problem and i have FSX for almost over a year now, and it this problem started a few weeks ago. I do have about every woai traffic pack installed (hey, I was bored ;) ) and a lot of planes (map consists of 615 aircraft maps, some woai airplanes and about 1/4th doesn't even work). I read somewhere that FSX, Whne FIRST installed reads the computers memory and loads this data, along with graphics card, CPU etc.......I recently installed 1 GB of Ram and I get slow downs or freezes periodically when using FSX (flying UA Super 80), (this is why I added memory. ) My question is...Do I need to Re-install FSX to read the Larger MEmory???? thanx Dan(Not the best Computer:Windows Vista 323 GB Memory

Hey all,Last week I reinstalled FSX. Before that, everything was working ok. However, now when I try to load a flightplan in the FSX flightplan menu (so actually when it opens W7's folder with possible FPs), FSX freezes and I get an AppHangB1 error. Using other menus (also inflight) isn't a problem. Deleting the FSX.cfg has had no effect. Has anyone experienced this and does anyone know how to solve this issue?Thanks

Sometimes (not always) when I click a menu window, fsx freezes and shuts down after a few seconds. Then it's restarting and I'm back in the main menu. This is really anoying, eg after an 7h flight. It seems to be at random. I can click the menu hundred times and it works oke. Then again... it happens. I reinstalled fsx, I run it in a window or full view, setting high or low... no effect. Still happens.What can it be?I run a core 2 quad computer with 4 gb ram, win 7 64 bit and a nvidea 9600gt videocard. Must be oke...Thanx,Martin

Hi Everyone,I recently upgraded several computer components and did a reinstall, and have an FSX freeze issue that locks the computer up and requires a press of the reset button. It's happened since I've owned the machine, every several months, but now it is every flight. The problem always begins with the gauges going blurry in VC mode, Baron G1000 and PMDG 747X especially, then the mouse cursor gets ugly, then the whole system freezes. Hi Folks,I'm having a problem with FSX where after an hour of flying or so, when I call up the menu and access the Map or Instant Replay or Settings etc, when I exit the menu and go back to the sim the display becomes corrupted. The cockpit vanishes and the scenery textures flash and flicker. If I press Esc I can End Flight and go back to the main FSX screen, interestingly though the preview image of the aircraft on the Free Flight screen just shows as a black box. I have been having this problem ever since I bought my new computer about two years ago. The problem only seems to occur if I am flying with an addon aircraft, not with any of the default aircraft, and its not limited to one type. I can be flying along with no problems, then all the instruments will get flashing horizontal lines in them and the cursor arrow also gets these flashing lines distorting the normal arrow symbol, then the screen freezes and eventually shuts down the monitor but the computer still appears to run, there is no error message accompanying the CDT, I have to turn it off manually. I have a new computer with loads of everything, which has been working properly with fsx, sp2 for a couple of months.A few days ago I reinstalled Windows from the very beginning (loosing all documents and applications of course).First thing I did was install fsx, then sp1, then sp2, then uninstalled sp2 to TRY to install a bright new Acceleration pack (as this last installer tells you to unistall sp2). A friend of mine is having problems with his rig (YES! A FRIEND!! Not my computer at all... wry smiley-faced emoticon goes here) where it runs normally for work but crashes out playing games. Typically, the game will run well for a few minutes, and then the computer will suddenly shut right off. This makes multiplayer difficult for him.I suggest that his power source is too weak for his rig. I don't have his specs on me right this moment, but I will keep you posted. hi im chris i know its a long title but it grabs attention, also i know its not a ctd but its close, anywho i had fsx deluxe sp2 on vista 64bit then upgraded to acceleration and now after sometime playing the gauges get fuzzy and freeze then a few moments later the whole game freezes and stays that way for about a minute then reboots my computer, i have been getting fatal error messages when i try and use a certain downloaded plane that worked great on deluxe sp2 but not on acceleration... please help

every time I try to open FSX it closes before I get to the main menu and says that fsx has "encountered a fatal error". Does anybody know how to fix this?

I have a problem,I start my IFR flight and everything goes well until TOD.As soon as I get the descent clearence from the fsx atc I: cannot click left or right anymore hear a sound when I press a key ("windowsXP Ding.wav") can still use my yoke and rudder pedals The problem is that I can not control my descent because the AT is on and is still set for cruise.I can get the autopilot off by pressing " Z " but I cannot aknowledge atc anymore or use my FMC, AP, AT etc.When this occurs, I press " Escape", then the Window does appear normaly but also here I can't click anything.I usually use ALT+TAB to swith to my desktop and then use taskmanager to quit fsx, since that's the …
