There sure are alot of complaints about CTDs with the new nvidia 181.20 drivers. Myself included. However, I did find a solution for myself that might help others....I use Rivatuner v2.09. I only use it to crank up the fans on my 9800GX2. However, upon looking for the CTD solution with these 181.xx drivers, I came across an important tidbit. Apparently to avoid these CTDs with driver 181.20 using RivaTuner, you must get the newer ver 2.22. Ok, I've been looking around the forums here and since Vista doesnt use a boot.ini file, you use bcdedit correct?Can anyone clarify for me how exactly to complete this switch with the 3GB?Thanks

So after some tweaking w/ Vista like installing Vista SP1 it caused drama and blue screens and CTD's so I reverted to no SP1 and it worked fine while then in the process I started getting just CTD's when I turn on my AI traffic and have the CDAI CRJ,CRJ-700 or PAI CRJ-900 I have them turned on by having the default FSX Crj-700 panel/sound C:\Users\Adam\AppData\Local\Temp\WERE251.tmp.versi on.txtC:\Users\Adam\AppData\Local\Temp\WERF44C.tmp.appco mpat.txtC:\Users\Adam\AppData\Local\Temp\WERF547.tmp.mdmpThe wierd thing is if i turn off my AI traffic then I get not CTD's... but that is no way to live... Hello:This is a strange one! Everytime I access the FSX menu options and settings at KSEA and try to to exit, my PC crashes requiring a cold boot. Upon reboot windows complains this was a "serious error" with a cryptic description of the error. I have tried different aircraft and still have the problem. I have loaded other flights, changed aircraft, etc. with no problems exiting options and settings even with no changes. So far the problem appears isolated to KSEA. I have no conflicting scenery. Anyone else have the same or similar problem?Thanks for any help!Airbus

everything was working just fine, no problemsthen just recently I've been getting CTD's/lockups, etc not more then about 10-20 minutes into a flight, so I thought I installed something that screwed everything up, well then I did a repair, - that made it worse, it wouldn't even boot up without crashing.so I new a complete re-install was coming, so I deleted everything and started over againall I have is the FSX with SP2 in it, no other addons or anything..I went to do a pattern around I40 in the C172 and all was good until I was on short final and boom, it hung and then crashed! so I'm at my wits end, I don't know what to do..I'm posting my system specs as well as my FSX.c…

Heys guys I never had any problems with CTD but now I have one "simprop.dll" Im going to do a repair then install SP1 and SP2, my question is do I have to reinstall any of my scenery. IE fsglobal 2008 and UT Can and USA or will it be good to go if this corrects the problem. If I do have to reinstall everything Im considering do a fresh install of FSX. Any advice would be appreciated.

so im in the orbit smaller jet the twin jet but anywayz i fly the entire toronto to panama flight plan i have set out, including stopovers and 100 nm left as i start lining up for the aproach it dies. i kept it normal time the entire time so this took hours it was pure evil and with no explanation :(

I haven't installed any new hardware. I go into FSX at Montego Bay airport, using a default aircraft like always, but then after a few minutes of doing my usual routine of opening up gauges and views I get the dreaded screen "bad_pool_header...BC code 19" and the system reboots. It was working fine a few days ago, I just don't understand this. Is there a resolution to this?EDIT: I tried doing a system restore and I noticed some software was installed onto my computer yesterday, maybe that caused the crash? Well I restored my system to the 6th December and I tried FSX again, *touch wood* it is working, I went through my routines and actually took off from the runway.

Hi guys,I have just taken delivery of my new system shown below which I was hoping was going to fly! with FSX. However it keeps crashing with just a fatal error message! I am running FSX with Accl/Pack, clean install on the Raptor and Vista on the Seagate. It loads up ok but will then crash in sometimes 5 mins- 15 mins, the longest it has run is most likely about 25 mins. I have run it with and without FSUIPC4 I have uninstalled it reinstalled it defragged and I'm pulling my hair out! Has anybody any suggestions please? I've been running this add-on (Wilco/Feethere ERJ Legacy) with FSX and Windows XP without any problems. Now I've changed to Window Vista Home Edition and get a CTD when I choose "End Flight" to get back and start a new flight.When I click "End Flight" FSX shuts down and I get a message that "the program execution security function has closed FSX" (this is a translation from the Swedish version of Vista. I don't know the exact words in english). If I try to disengage this security function in Vista following the help instructions I get the message that "FSX won't allow this operation". After previously installing SP2 I would get frequent crashes. It would only happen in full screen mode when changing time or scenery settings, in other words whenever doing something that would cause the FSX black screen with the progress bar displaying the "Loading...". After finishing loading FSX would freeze and then display the FSX "must close.." error screen with an option to send the report and see what the report contained. It didn't happen every time, but about one out of every fourth time. Hi folks.Got a new PC just for FSX and FS9. Installed FSX (but not FS9),downloaded and installed all the service packs together with new drivers for just about everything. Select FSX and set medium settings and aircraft and location ete etc, click on fly now and within 30 seconds the screen goes BLACK and the PC will not restart,I have to reboot it using the reboot switch. There are no messages at all about why the PC has crashed,the event manager shows nil results,unless I am missing something. There is still power going through the PC as the fans are working OK but everything else has stopped. I have tried all the things that I can think of but nothing seems to work. T…

Hi!After resolving the install issues with FSX on my Vista Home i now have another problem.Each time i start FSX and it starts to draw the plane on the main menu screen the computer reboots.I have tried:1. Other memorys2. Disabling Automatic Reboot. It still reboots.3. Flashed BIOS4. Reset BIOS5. Cleaned up and installed new graphics drivers.6. Started in safe mode.7. Checked temps. Had my first opportunity to try the "Fogged-In" weather theme in FSX with the Acceleration package. Every time I got a CTD out of my effort. I did manage to approximate the situation via the customize user-defined weather option but wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing this behavior?Stan V.

Hi, I have just loaded up FSX (+ SP1 & SP2) and its performance generally is V good. However, I get CTD when selecting a European airport after I have downloaded weather or selected flight planner.If I don't do this, and go straight to a Euro airport - everything seems to be OK until I do either of the above.I don't seem to get the problem elsewhere - certainly not in US airports.Anybody had a similar problem?RegardsJohn

hi,I've recently bought the active sky 6.5 for fs9. Doing my first long hauler with it, i stumble with a darn CTD half way along the flight. very frustrating. after checking out, i found out the problem relates to ntdll.dll file. i have no idea what it is. the funny thing is, this CTD only happen when i'm using active sky. HelloThis just started. Whenever I select direct to (using the default FSX GPS) and place a WP, then activate, I get "duplicate waypoints" showing within the GPS screen. Whichever one I select I CTD. Happens in all FSX aircraft (default as well as addons). Any thoughts.Thanks in advance.Ed

Hi,I was in external view at Heathrow (no scenery detail at all), I had extended then retracted the flaps of the MD-82 I was flying, then FSX suddenly crashed in terrain.dll.I hope this is not going to be a regular feature.
