I flew something like 200 hours on FSX SP1 and it never crashed that's great simulation. Since I installed Acceleration, after a while flying, I start having weird graphics. The screen freeze and I can still hear the sound of the plane.. then sometimes it recover, or crash to desktop. I cannot complete a mission before it freeze! This is an unfinished add-on, we are BETA-TESTERS. I have uninstalled Acceleration. Hi, all.After recently suffering from randomly garbled sky textures and, more frustratingly, d3d9.dll crashes every single time I attempted to fly with a visibility of less than 1SM, I was nearly certain that the cause was bad Nvidia drivers. In my situation, that seems to have been the case.After installing Nvidia's latest Beta drivers (169.09, dated 13 Nov 2007), the issues seem to have cleared up completely. They're found on Nvidia's official driver site... follow the tiny "beta drivers" link underneath their pulldown release drivers menu.Hope this helps all of those suffering from D3D crashes.~V

Hi all,I have been using FSX for about 4 Months now without much trouble except for the usual of trying to balance the visual experience with a good FPS !I usually fly in Europe with flights upto a max of 2 hours with no problems .I have recently been trying longer range flights from The Canary Islands off Western Africa to UK Airports .Everything goes OK following the Flightplan with the Autopilot/GPS flying The Aircraft until after about 2 hours on reaching The Southern Coast of Portugal , then I get a CRASH TO DESKTOP ERROR OUT OF MEMORY ERROR !!!This is very frustrating as the session is then wasted ! Good day all!I was wondering if anyone would know why I get a CTD while flying across the Atlantic Ocean. I've tried many flights all with the same result, a CTD about half way across. I have UT U.S.A, UT Canada/Alaska and the FS Genesis pack all installed. Also I am using FS9.1. I just got UT Europe but haven't installed it yet. Any ideas?Thanks in advanceScott

I know this is going to sound like bashing but it isn't. I would really like to know if anyone has any ideas. I am using xp on a dual processor comp with 2.5 mb of memory.My experience with this add on has been a total disaster. I just purchased it yesterday and installed after doing a defrag. I am using fsx totally default (no addons) so I figured I should have no problems HAHAFirst of all it froze my comp twice almost immediately. I then realized I had not disabled my antivirus when I installed so I uninstalled, defragged again, disabled antivirus, shut off firewall and even shut down my dsl. Then I installed again. I don't crash to desktop; instead the program minimizes to the task bar and nothing will get it back again. The icon for the program is visible, but no amount of clicking or using the task manager will get it to return. Any thoughts?My theory is the computer just gets ahead of itself and can't render the scenery. So, instead of blurring, it just gives up and crashes. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have suddenly experienced computer crashes and resets with FSX. I'm running FSX Sp1 with VISTA Ultimate on my Dell XPS710 that has 4GB DDR2 SDRAM and get a computer lock when running FSX on long flights, e.g., Orlando to Honolulu in a stock FSX 747. I'm flying from Orlando, and get a lock or freeze when over Texas about a quarter away on the flight. It happened to me twice, I was planning to save the flight when arriving on the West Coast, but never got to that point. Now I'm wondering if I can fly across the USA (NY to CA) without getting the same result. I don't get a CTD, I get a freeze. I have been living with this since the first of the year when I had got my new computer and FSX. While playing FSX, at random times in the sim, i notice the sound will cut, and then flash a Windows message box : Failed to Read From File.Now I have to choices, accept the message and kick me out, (but still have fsx.exe still running in my task manager), or continue flying with limited sound and land on green runways. Fun huh!I was told this was due to running out of memory, and looked into it a bit further using a performance monitor. I am having random CTD's with Acceration when I try to access an item from the drop-down menus (alt). The whole thing just freezes and the hard drive runs continuously with the egg timer showing. Sometimes I receive an explorer error and then the sim restarts. If not I have to restart the system. I havent yet found a reccuring theme to this but it is becoming very annoying. I'm using a 7950gt card with the latest Nvidia drivers installed.Chris S

Ok, I have reinstalled FSX on a larger drive after having it on a smaller drive that I ran out of room for all my addons. So, I replaced my old GrantedRewards.bin file in the new directory, and all is well... mostly. Whenever I fail a mission, or simply want to load a saved mission the first time it works just fine. But consistently on the second reload the CD drive spins up for some reason (the FSX cd is not required to be in the drive right?) and then a crash to desktop. Is this caused by using an old grantedrewards file? Do I have to reinstall FSX again (please say no, lol)

Hey I've been experiencing a CTD whenever I try to open acceleration. This never happened with just FSX installed only after installing acceleration. The CTD says it has to do with "scenery.cfg, dll.cfg, config.cfg, dxdiag.txt, and fdr.dat" Anyone have any suggestions?I'm using a NVidia GeForce FX 5200with 1024 Mb Ramand 2.4 gHz Intel.Please Help.Thanks

Hello all, This is my first post here so please bare with me. I have FSX deluxe and had it updated to sp1. No problems at all, could fly without a single problem. My wife bought me acceleration the other day and since then I can fly for not even 5 minutes before I'm at the desktop. Now I know there are other posts here about this type of thing however I'm not doing anything. What I mean by that is I'm not trying to access the menus or change views. I am trying to install SP1 for FSX. After the installation process is complete, I do a reboot just in case. After the reboot and I click the FSX shortcut, it starts the program and after the splash screen I get a CTD. No error message or anything. I do a System Restore back to yesterday and everything in the original FSX works fine. I checked the dates on the fsx.exe file and the old one is being replaced. Any ideas?John

Hey guys!I have 2 similar problems, I tried to fix them so many times but unfortunately with no result. 1. I get a similar crash at RJAA area like stated on the first post of this page. For example it always happens at dusk on monday. Noon time is no problem here, it's loading fine. It sometimes also crashed at other times, very strange. I checked all my aircraft with ACA2005 - no missing SIM-file and no missing MODEL-file. No error at all, except missing textures (who doesn't get this error^^). Hi. I wonder if anyone can explain what may be happening here. It's a problem I've had for a long time.When I open a flight at certain airports (thankfully few) through the 'Choose a Flight' main screen (FS9.1 - posting here as FSX/CTD seems the most relevant forum) I always get a CTD (XP 'blue screen of death', that is) as the flight loads. An example is at Paro, VQPR (paro.zip from AVSIM).If however I load the flight by starting at some other airport and then moving to the problem location (VQPR for instance) via the World/'Go to Airport ...' option in the menu bar, things are fine. Hey all, So I have a fresh install of FSX with SP1 installed. I am running the bioshock drivers from laptop video to go. The game runs beautifully outside of these pesky system hangs/hard reboots. Seems like they occur mostly when zooming in/out in the virtual 3d ****pit and during view changes. It usually starts with a hang which leaves my laptop unresponsive and with a sound loop going and then the system will either reboot or I will have to hard reboot it myself. The game runs smooth otherwise and I have not experienced any other video related issues with this pc. Running the stock drivers game me pretty much the same issues. I can only load a saved flight by first booting up to my default flight. trying to load directly to a saved flight results in a cdt. is this a known bug in fsx, and if so, what is the cure. or if anyone has had this problem, how did you solve it. thanks...Sherm

Hi all,i've been experiencing unexpected CTD for a month now since i build my new PC(see specs below). Finally found out what caused these CTD's while flying online with FS9.All latest MB's with an Nvidia chipset have a so called Network Acess Manager that will be installed with the LAN drivers. This manager includes a special firewall on the LAN ports, which as far as i've found can't really be configured with the software provided. I'm getting a crash to desktop on approach to Bangor International, and also when trying to load it as a fresh location at "Create a Flight." No empty texture files or addon scenery that I recall at that location. No error code, just a "Report this to Microsoft? Y/N" error box pop up. (When loading as new flight, this pop up occurs at about the 51% point of the progress bar. It says "Loading Terrain" at that point.) Occurs nowhere else that I can determine and it happens no matter what plane I try. I suspect something is up with my Ultimate Terrain USA and Ultimate Terrain Canada. I have disabled QLR4UT. Hi all, It seems to me that the majority of people getting these are nVidia 7 series owners. I was wondering about operating systems too. My current setup is an XP Pro machine where I continuosly get this problem. I do however have a Vista DVD (which I removed from my system when I bought it.) It just occurred to me whether any Vista owners are getting this problem? If not then I might consider switching back to Vista, even thought I dislike it.RobP
