Please excuse this long winded question but I'm at my wits end and am really thinking of uninstalling fs9 and giving up on my favorite thing to do...flying with fs9...anyway...a little history...up until a few weeks ago I was happily flying around the fs9 world in the USA...absolutely no problems...then I discovered the new Flight One sofware called Instant Scenery...it was great..installed several scenery objects to the Las Vegas area airports including KLAS...now after a few weeks I've uninstalled Instant Scenery because for some reason..after flying about 15 to 20 minutes.. fs9 would simply stop and I'd see my desk top with no messages....or....the screen would go comp…

I cannot get to the end if the Alpine Gliding mission because of a CTD that occurs every time I fly it. It routinely happens between waypoints 8 & 9, with about 18.5 miles to run to WP9.I have not had any crashes in other situations, not does this crash when I have flown the mission route in the default Mooney as a free flight.I've got FSGenesis mesh installed, but removing that hasn't made any difference.I can't think of anything else to try. Scenery seems not to be the problem as it works on free flight. I've tried nVidia's latest graphics drivers and the latest version from MSI (it's one of their cards) with no resolution. The only things remaining are the glider i…

Hi Guys, I am unable to load FSX with Pete's marvelous program installed. I have tried everything even uninstalling Norton Security . If I disable FSUIPC4 in the dll file by changing False to True FSX loads fine. In the past three months I must have repaired FSX at least a dozen times. It doesn't seem to like any changes. Anyone else having this problem. I have tried the suggestions by Microsoft ( see FSINSIDER) to make sure the "localhost/127.0.0.1 is accepting fsx addons. In the old days all you had to do was to put Pete's DLL into the modules folder. EXHAUSTED! rnails

Hi,The problem is a simple yet annoying one - basically FSX doesn't get past the splash screen. I did recently install some World of AI packages and FSInn & FSCopilot. I've uninstalled those now to see if that was the problem, and yet FSX still failing to get past the splash screen. So then I tried a "repair" install using the original DVDs, and to no avail. Would appreciate any help on this matter. My computer specs - if at all helpful:AMD64 4400+ X2 WinXPSP2Nvidia 7800 GTX 512mbIf there's any other info required to diagnose the problem please ask, and I'll try my best to supply you with the information.Thanks.Regards,Sul

Hi Everybody,I already posted in the Hardware forum topic #24415. Jim helped me as far as he could but I am still experiencing a problem. After I added another 512MB stick of RAM I started getting CTD with the attached little box popping up. However, FS9( just minimizes to the desktop and I can click to open the window and keep flying. Except my AC textures are gone. I backed up my fs9.cfg and created a new one but the problem persists. I set my PF to system managed size. Its kind of weird because when I hit the pause key a strange noise, which sounds like feedback you get from a microphone when it is too close to speakers, sounds and if I hit pause several times the pitch…

Hey guys. Posted this a smiliar topic in the FSX forum, but don't think I will get much of a response there. When I use flight sim, I start from a fresh boot. I have about 29 processes when FS9 is running. I am only using DVA ACARS and RC4 as running addons.Within about 5 minutes of being airborne, FS9 minimizes by itself and I go to the desktop. Simply clicking on the the FS9 program gets me back into the sim. At some other time, no idea when (im usually sleeping), FS9 will crash to the desktop without leaving an error, warning, or any sign that it was even there and open - poof gone.A search brough up a post with a similiar problem with HP software being the culprit.…

I just upgraded to a whole new system, Intel E6600 / 4GB Ram / Nvidia 8800 GTX / Vista 64. When I loaded up FSX I was getting flickering and an occassional ctd. I thought it was a driver problem. Then I discovered that I had both the windows Vista and Norton firewalls enabled. I turned off the windows firewall to avoid conflicts but I didn't realize I had one with FSX. Disabling one of the firewalls fixed the video problems and ctd in FSX I was having. Who Knew? FSX runs like a dream, smooth as a babies butt and dazzling to the eye. I was wondering if someone else out there was having a similar conflict and didn't know it? Hence this posting.Al

Firstly.. Thank god this forum exits. I am running FSX on machine dula core 6700. 2048 ram. 2x 7950st in sli. All with correct and up to date drivers. If i use FSX aircraft i dont have problems. I have installed 777 and airbus PIC and both create problems. Until earlier, after about 10 mins of action the whole thing frooze and had to manually restart machine. After reading these forums i have reduced audio acceleration and turned off agp texture. I now get an error message of 0"7c809783 memory could not be written.. I normally manage to sort these things out myself, but now i am really crying out for help and all assistance is very greatly recieved.. THank You.

I recently discovered that CPU temperatures of 55-65 are bad on Pentium 4's. Could such high temperatures have been causing increasingly-frequent CTD's?The CPU fan runs, my case is cooling itself, but I'm thinking the thermal wax between the heat sink and CPU might have degraded. If this is the case, and I replace the heatsink/fan and add new paste, will my processor be ok, or is it permanently damaged?

Hi,Thought I'd share this. I was flying an IFR flight, and I accidently selected the option to "Load IFR Flight". To get out of this dialog box, I simply pressed the Esc key. Boom, CTD - no error, nothing - I just landed at the desktop. This occured with a 3rd party plane, so I loaded the default Barron 58. I was able to duplicate the CTD. I tried two more default planes and could get a CTD every time by pressing the Esc key.I searched through this forum which gave me some ideas to try. I disabled my sound card, that didn't work. I tried starting FSX in 2D instead of 3D, that didn't work.I have a VisionTek X1950 PCI-E video card (ATI chip), and the latest Vista 64-bit driv…

I'm still experiencing the CTD problem that we have been talking about. I'm using FS9.1 on a Gateway with the following specs:Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp.051011-1528)System Manufacturer: GATEWAYSystem Model: GM5260BIOS: Default System BIOSProcessor: Intel® Core2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz (2 CPUs)Memory: 2030MB RAMPage File: 479MB used, 3441MB availableI have also returned to IE6, even though I use Firefox.I am wondering if one of the Windows updates is causing the problem, although I'm not sure how I would find out except by removing one at a time and running a flight.Oh yeah, one other thing: This problem occurs with FSU…

I just installed flight simulator x deluxe edition and I am getting an occasional CTD. It happens totally at random, meaning that I'm not doing one particular thing (setting flaps, selecting gear, etc.) that sets it off. I am running a brand new Windows Vista machine with 4 GB of ram and an nvidia geforce 7900 gs video card. The weird thing is that Windows Vista gives me no error message when this happens. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks,BrandonPS I thought that in the Microsoft preview video of FSX there was a tug that pushed you away from the gate. Or am I incorrect in remembering that? If not then how do you activate the tug? I figured out how to activate…

Having upgraded my PC specifically for FSX I am somewhat bemused why my PC keeps freezing during install. Since purchasing FSX I have updated the drivers/bios/directx/windows, hdd defrag, turned off Anti-virus/Firewall etc used msconfig. As a last resort I sent away my PC for a hardware checkup/Vista upgrade. The Power supply, memory and Video card are all performing without fault, so what does one have to do to play this sim? Am I missing something? P.S. I managed to play FSX on the same PC using Windows XP (at 40 fps) yet it did freeze regularly in mid flight and also whilst re-installing. I had hoped Vista would solve the problem. Any advice would be appreciated. 2Gb R…

Out of the blue when I started to load a new flight I had created, I had a CTD at about 50% of loading textures. Over the last couple of weeks I have tried a number of variations to my setup such as - Deactivated all addon sceneryUninstalled a recent upgrade of MS security patchesChanged virtual drive settingsTried system restore to a date before the CTD occurredRan Filemon (process monitor) with no obvious errorsEvents logs show an event error but no details as Win XP was unable to identify anyRan Memtest86+ for 10 passes - no errorsNothing changed the problem as loading any flight anywhere causes a CTD at approx 50% of loading textures.I can run FSX without any problemI…

I have been having a problem with CTD ever since I built my new computer. I upgraded my computer back in November to a up to dtae, fast system. One of the first games I installed was FS9. I went crazy on it and began to install every add-on I had on my old computer onto my new one. The main programs that I uses and add-ons are: AS6.5, Ultimate Terrain, GE Pro,FSNav 4.7, PMDG 737-NG, Track IR pro, and FS9 is updated to 9.1. After my first install of FS9 I would run all these programs at once and would try to fly from A to B. I would get random CTD during the flight. FS9 would just shutdown and I would be looking at the desktop. No error message or anything. I began to trou…

Hi there,I have been running FSX for a while but since day 1 have been getting reboots randomly occuring throughout my flying. Okay, so not a CTD as such, but worse. It doesn't seem to happen when I do something specific, but does happen when I do SOMETHING i.e. set flaps, change view, open/close GPS, move control column.Normally the reboot will happen within the first 10-20 minutes of flying, but has been known to happen a good 40mins into a flight.I have updated ALL drivers including BIOS, no difference. After reboot I get an error report containing the following:BCCode : 1000000a BCP1 : FF750003 BCP2 : 0000001C BCP3 : 00000000BCP4 : 804F9F4B OSVer : 5_1_2…

OK - I really need some ideas here, I have been trying to solve a CTD on the KSEA - KORD route with no luck so far. The initial CTD (a drop to the desktop with no error message) would occur on downwind just as i passed abeam of KORD on approach to runway 27R. I finally figured that I had two installations of a bgl file for the ferris wheel at Navy Pier. So I deleted on of the bgl files. Now I am getting an Out of Memory error around the same area. I am flying the PMDG 747. the other addons I have are:Active SkyRadarContact 4.0Ultimate Traffic3rd Party Scenery FilesSystem Specs:3.6Ghz2MB Ram8MB VM Nvidia 6800GTAudigy 2 Sound Blaster-What I have done so far in an attempt…

I just finished re-arranging my scenery cfg and dont know if I did it right. During a flight from mia-atl just over the vqq vortac fs crashes to the desk without any message. I was able to reproduce this twice. It was during the night in the winter. My latest organization scheme was to put the addon landclass above everything else, the seatac mall addon just above addon scenery, and the airports under the areal photos, and eveything else below that. Am I doing this wrong? Does anyone have a tutorial about fs scenery organization? This has been my 1st crash since re-install a month and 1/2 ago.
