So,I have problems even during installation. Instead of normal, legible text, I get stuff like IDS_WELCOME and IDS_CONTINSTALL. I go ahead with the install. After installation, I validate and while it tries the default new scenery, finishing installation stuff, it works slowly. Then I get the "Microsoft Flight Simulator Has Encountered A Problem Message", and it closes. I tried installing both SPs, and it still crashes. i just switched to Windows 7 from windows vista and windows xp... actually my fsx worked fine with lots of third-party planes freewares, paid ones it doesnt really matter.... but now (i also switched to USAVA recently thats why i need to install the USAVA fleet.)... i need to add just two planes now... Dash-8 and S340... I tried with both automatic installer and manual install. neither one worked... when i install Dash-8 it works fine... but when i install S340 they both disappear from my aircraft list. i deleted Dash-8 and installed only S340 it worked fine too. but when i installed Dash-8 they both disappear again!! i thought it might be a problem about USAVA fleet then…

It is a known CTD issue for a very long time. I'm using XP64 and just thought i'd throw this question out there. Has anyone ever tackled this one? Or have you just learned to live with it like I have? I've read that it is an Nvidia issue. I've uninstalled Nhancer just as an experiment, and it didn't make a difference.

My head is spinning after hours of trying to troubleshoot this. I am no wiser now than when I began as to what is happening, so maybe someone can give a lead?I tend to start pre-saved flights (I have hundreds of them saved) by clicking on the .flt file but for some this is resulting in FS9 suddenly going to a black screen as it loads up (at around 45% - whilst loading terrain) and then the 'FS9 has encountered a problem' message. If I load the same flight through the Create a Flight window, with the same a/c at the same airport at the same time of the year and day etc. etc, there is no problem. No CTD. When I start up FSX, all is fine until I click on "fly now". Even then all goes well until I am looking at my VC and down the runway. The engine is running. All of a sudden the sound goes out, the game freezes, and a fatal error occurred message appears. I am given the option of sending a report and/or restarting FSX. When I chose neither, I am taken back to my desktop. I guess this is kind of a CTD. I have upgraded my graphics driver, deleted my FSX.CFG, and restarted FSX. The problem persists. Just bought FSX and it looks nice, but it won't run properly in Windows 7. CTDs every time I access menus in full screen mode. The serious decrease in performance over FS2004 is bad enough, (from 50-80 FPS down to 10-30 FPS) but the CTD makes it almost unusable for me. Guess I'll have to go back to FS2004 unless MS fixes it.

Since few months I am getting sick of CTD's in FSX.PC is stable, no problems, no unneeded services. It happens in both 32bit and 64bit systems (Vista Business). Only FSX hangs, nothing else.It looks like this: screen freezes, sound cracles, mouse is not moving, keyboard is not working. Only hard reset will cure the PC. It happens almost always close to the ground (>3000ft AGL). I lowered the autogen - no results. I downloaded VC++ 2005 sp1 - no results. I was monitoring the temps - pretty low. Hallo,i have a big problem with my FSX. Everytime i start my fly, everything is normal, but after some time e.g. after startup procedures or directly after landing, my fsx gets trouble. The Scenery will be totally deformed ( Trees becomes black and long up to the sky, the objects becomes unsharp, the gauges becomes also unsharp,..) and if i push the ESC to exit this fly, the fsx CTD.I dont know were it comes from. Can it be the uncompatibility of two or more add-ons, e.g. Zinertek Night Environment with Flight Environment X SHD? Hi folks. I wonder if anyone is seeing the same problem as me.I've installed Windows 7 x64 and it is running fine.Initial install of FSX runs fine. As does the sim once SP1 is installed.But if I install SP2 or the Accleration pack (I've tried both - on clean FSX + SP1 installs) then the game will not work. The splash screen appears. And remains for the usual loading time. Then the plash screen disappears, windows switches back to full color mode and that's that. No error message, the game just won't run.

For the first time, I had a crash that wasnt a complete lockup of my GPU (I just installed a nice shiny new Asus EAH4850 and it runs very nicely) but I did get this message:your computer has run out of available memory. Please restart Flight Simulator and select different graphics, scenery or traffic settingsHas anyone else seen this? Its a new one to me.Thanks-

I learned this the hard way, so I thought I'd share this tip that I haven't seen posted anywhere before.I was getting FSX Accel CTD whenever I flew between KVNY and KLAX and it was driving me nuts. The cause ended up being an add-on scenery that I had downloaded off the web some time ago. I've just about had it, it worked fine at first then all of a sudden i start getting fatal exception errors on the splash screen. Hi, I have run windows xp64 for the past few months and FSX SP2 with various addon a/c. Yesterday I took out the PMDG MD11 for a 7 hour flight between EGLL and KPHL, and even though the OS is 64bit, I got the dreaded OOM error and FSX shut down.I did a return flight from KPHL to EGLL and on descent to EGLL there was some stuttering and then, the OOM dialog again.I am stumped as to why I'm getting OOM since my system is more than capable and it was fine during all kinds of long hauls in PMDG MD11 in the past. Has anyone with a 64 bit OS seen OOM errors resurface? I had them constantly when I was on xp32, but that is why I switched to xp64, and I don't know why it is now…

Hello all! I have just got a new pc, runs awsome, but I seem to have a problem where I am in a flight or have just landed and I want to say.... see a replay of my (perfect) landing. I then go into the replay menu, select my run time and after I press ok to start the replay the screen is either black or looks like I'm underground. After that all I can do is ctrl,alt,del to exit the sim. It also does it when I go to change weather, time/season, access the flight planner basicly any menu operation. All of a sudden, MCE (Multi Crew Experience) has a tendency to crash during loading. Although I had 39 views to my post, I had no responses. Over time,however, I was able to fix the problem and thought posting that fix may help others. I learned from other posts how to delete my FSX.CFG and text file from my Documents and Settings,etc. file, restart FSX and allow it to rebuild those files. As FSX was loading, it would ask me if I wanted Acceleration to set my assignments(I do have Acceleration),I clicked "yes", and it asked me if I wanted to load the newest FSUIPC,to which I also clicked "yes". Hey everyone...having a few FSX problems at the moment:I spent all of yesterday reinstalling my OS and FSX per NickN's "bible" and followed every step down to the letter in hopes of getting better performance. I have installed REX, UTUSAX, and GEX, and have everything tweaked so that it runs smooth. When I load up a default FSX plane, everything runs fine, but when I load up my Carenado Seneca or the Super 80 Pro, I get either a terrain.dll error or a g3d.dll error within 5-10 minutes. I am using a Evga GTX 285 DDR3 feeding a Matrox Triple Head To Go with three 46" LCD screens and a Evga 8800 GT 512MB DDR3 with a ViewSonic 22" monitor for the left side view. The 46" LCDs work great in full screen but when I open a new view and move it to the ViewSonic 22" monitor, FSX stops working and restarts.
