I used voxatc in fs2004 so was excited to try it with fsx/vista ultimate.I got the blue screen of death 3 times when trying to install-the 4rth time it worked. Now in the demo-same thing-blue screen of death.Just thought you'd like to know.I will probably still rebuy for the future-first thing I noticed is the voice recognition is much better than the old version. Hi allI have been using the trial version of VoxATC FSX and taken a GA flight from Kansas City International to Eppley. All along the route I was receiving warnings from ATC that I had traffic 1,000ft above me at say, 11 o'clock. When I looked, I saw nothing.Then later on, right out of nowhere, a Cessna Caravan buzzed me and cut right across my tail with no warning. Made me jump out my skin :)This surely isn't normal AI behaviour when using VoxATC is it?Thanks,Vox

Hi, folks. I've got the demo version of VoxATC for FS9 (US, not UK version). I'd like to ditch the MS voices, but I've read on this forum that some of you think the 16 bit AT&T voices are almost too good (that maybe even some static might make the experience more realistic). Can I download and use the 8 bit versions of the Mike and Crystal voices? They sound a little more like something coming over an aging radio stack. Thanks in advance for your help. -- Dana

If I repeated every word that ATC said to me I would not only drive them crazy they would probably want to ban me from flying into my local airpart. Vox seems to me to train pilots to readback way too much. ATC is only looking for essential info, such as, cleared ILS 18, 240, 2000, tower 119.9. That's all they want to hear for clearance, heading, altitude, and freq. If there's some way to simplify responses to ATC in Vox please let me know. Vox would be great for practice if it could go one more step toward real ATC procedures.

Hello,for some reason I can no longer use VoxATC, all I get is a "fatal error". I've tried everything from rebooting, using different situations and flightplans to re-installing the software. Nothing helped.I'm using version 5.33 in FSX. The error occurs after the voice says "test - test" "test - test" and before the "VoxATC verion 5.33 male voice" message should come.Any ideas welcome!Best regardsMatthias

how do I find the voxatc speech control panel?

hi,,,all was well at 1st but now i dont know what ive changed if any.when the line of speech appears in the prompter window some will be missing to the side of the window.....so i expand the window to get the whole line showing but i need a very large window,,,,is there some kind of setting to have the words wrap to the size of the windowThanksAndrew

Guys, my default installation of VOX ATC X shows the panel in black colour. How can I make it transparent?Thanks.

I thought when I first loaded the VoxATCX demo that the prompter window was transparent. Now the background is solid black.Was I imagining the transparency or did I do something to mess it up and lose it.Anyone know?Robert

Hi allI understand that the UK version of VoxATC FSX will be out before too long. I have enjoyed the demo of VoxATC FSX and would like to purchase it. However, I don't want to pay for it now, only to find that I'll have to pay more when the UK version/addon is released.Can anyone advise whether it will be cheaper for me to buy now and upgrade later or just wait for the UK version when it's released?Thanks,Vox

I am looking for the differences in Radar Contact and VOXATC. I have read review on both and my understanding is the big difference is RC uses numbers to select phrases, as in FS* and VOXATC uses actual voice commands. Is this correct? What other differences are they between the two? I will also post this in Radar Contact forum. It will be interesting to see what the two camps have to say about their product. I wish I knew of a site that did

Hi,I just felt like sharing my thoughts on the subject. 'Perfect' will by all means always be a subjective matter, but my personal opinion is that we already have a very good program and the following is the stuff I would like to see in future upgrades to really make it shine.1. The possibility to let the program use more than two different voices for speech synthesis. It is really odd to overhear a conversation where the controller and the pilot have the same voice. I believe this could be added quite easily. Or even better...2. ...use the prerecorded voices that FSX's own ATC uses. This would give us the best of both worlds - high quality voices and speech recognition.…

Is there a way to use my MyTraffic X planes with VOXATC for FX. The program tells you to shut off FSX traffic and it will generate it own traffic but how do you get it to generate the traffic from MyTraffic X planes rather than MSFS traffic. I turned off MSFS FX traffic and I have the slidder at 100% with VOXATC FX and I got maybe 5 at the most planes in the air and they were all GA. Please help me.Dave

I have Mytraffic X installed and VOXATC for FSX installed. Now I have no airline traffic. I have no MSFS airline or MYtraffic X airline traffic at airports or enroute. I have a lot of GA traffic.There is no way of increasing airline traffic, so how do I increase airline traffic of any type?

Windows XP SP2 MS Framework 2.0 VoxATC UK for FS9. I have installed VoxATC three times now and after every installation it causes a problem with my whole computer.If I try and open Speech in control panel (as suggested in notes) it sits there for ages doing nothing. I cannot shut down my PC it just sits there thinking about it. I then uninstall VoxATC and all is ok again!?!??!?!? Anyone know what is slowing my system to a halt after installation?Note all virus software etc is off during installation.CheersGraham

OK.. I downloaded the FS9 version of VOX and tried to install it. IT says..It needs .net version 1.1.4322.I know, I have .net installed. It's 2.0.1. This is freaking me out. Is the .net not backward compatible... Are we now going to install ,net of a million version because some vendor is dependent on a particular milliionth copy of .net?2. If I install this version..is this going to mess up something else?3. a tMS http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569264.aspx there is a 1.1 version, then there is the 1.2 version and then there is the 1.3 version..but I don't see no 1.1.4322 versionThis is becoming like that JDE version crap.Too bad.MAnny

HiI just bought VoxATC X and look forward to spend the weekend in 'ATC land'. However, one thing that buggers me is that while my addon AI traffic (My Traffic X) works fine around the airports, only the FSX stock airplanes show up while enroute. This is a bit annoying as the stock planes are not near as frame rate friendly as the My Traffic ones and they also lack the diversity of the many liveries included in the AI package.Does anybody know why this is so and how it can be remedied?/ Thanks in advance, Poul

I'm using VOXATC for FSX. (The Demo version)I think this addon shows a lot of promise but there are a few bugs that I think need some work.Firstly, I've had huge problems getting my joystick/keyboard assignments to work. It takes about 4 or 5 goes to broadcast. Either the ATC repeats a request ad nausium until I successfully broadcast or I get "Last aircraft say again" each time. UGGHH!Secondly, ground traffic is not controlled properly. I've had planes just roll over the top of me on taxiways.I'm glad to have the opportunity to try the demo but I think it needs ironing out a bit before I shell out $50AUS.Be interested to hear of anyone else's FSX experiences.cheersM

Hello,I've been using the demo for about one week now and I must say, that I'm really impressed.There is only one thing that I don't really get. After declaring a missed approach I'm vectored for the same approach to the same runway. I understand I can select the type of approach and runway on initial contact with approach but not after I've gone missed, right? For training purposes (five of six different approaches) or if you did not meet the minima for your selected approach it'd be great if you could request another approach for your second run. Is that possible? ThanksMatthias

It is my understanding that you need to turn off or disable default MS ATC for VoX ATC to function within flight simulator. My question is what steps need to be taken to accomplish this? thanksZach Bender K7LTF

Hello,I have two questions:1. I have purchased VoxATC UK few days ago and I still did not understand, what is the Vox ATC runway selection logic. My last flight to LKPR (Czech rep.), wind 310/08, controller gave me rwy 06, another flight another day with the same wind direction, controller gave me rwy 13 !!!. Why ???2. How to achieve straight in approach to runway, if STAR (correctly selected and edited before starting VoxATC) has the same heading upon FAF (306

I am trying to install the UK version of VoxATC for FS9 but everytime I run the installer it says 'No Flight Simulator found'I am installing on same drive as Flight Sim (XP SP2) and have all virus stuff switched off. I also have MS Net framework installed and FSUIPC.Anyone else having a problem?CheersGraham

An updated version is now available on the VoxATC website which apparently is compatable with Vista and also fixes several bugs.
