Previously I had the MAAM-SIM R4DC3 C-47 add-on properly installed and operating. Then I had occasion to uninstall FSX and FS9. When I reinstalled the two games I then attempted to re-install MAAM-SIM but could not. Upon examination, I noted that, unlike before, the BD-ROM drive [D] showed that the only files on the disc were: Manual Scenery bpb_fs9 c-47_AT_9 C47ptm DDay C47 R4DC3_FS9 R4DC3_FSX Read 1st and XC47All the rest had disappeared! I must have done something radically wrong! Then I searched the …

I'm enjoying the MAAM DC-3, especially now that I know how to make the exterior textures show up (turn off DirectX 10 preview in FSX options), how to switch to a medium-res VC to keep my framerate usable, and how to make the yoke disappear so that I can see the ADF (I love NDB navigation, and the one thing I liked about the FSX stock DC-3 was the prominently-positioned RMI). I have a question, though -- are the landing lights realistic? I know they're going to be a lot brighter than the landing light in my little real-life Piper Warrior, but they seem to illuminate a huge are in front of the aircraft, with a much wider beam than I would have expected. I'm interested to…

Well, my teaser title is not quite my question, but it's relevant.I write this note on behalf of our "think-tank" at MAAM-SIM. OK, that's the same bunch of volunteers that do everything else, but let's pretend we have brains too.To date, MAAM-SIM has produced the Mitchell B-25, Douglas R4D-6/DC-3A and Grumman TBM/TBF Avenger. All of these work in FS2004, and the first two have been upgraded for FSX. The Avenger will be, presently. There is a difference, however, between upgrading an FS2004 model for FSX and producing a model that is specifically designed for FSX.There is little doubt in our minds (what's left of them... thinking hurts) here at MAAM-SIM that the main reaso…

I have recently purchased the FSX version by download and had no issues with it installing or running. I have a couple of questions so of you may be able to help me with.1) I have some strange cockpit textures here and there - dark triangles which flash on and off, generally around the lower engine instrument cluster. I also find that If I pan around in the VC that the rear wall of the cockpit dissappears and your not looking at any structure at all.2) There are no interior cabin view for any of the models, is this one of the features that is not yet functional or ported across to FSX?3) When I installed a couple of other liveries or repaints, they show up nicely but all …

Hello there friends !!!first of all, warm congratulations, at maam people, for ( at least for me ) the best dc3 addon ever, which is my all time favorite plane.I really want to fly it and navigate it, the "old fashion way", the "way it has to be flown" ( at least for me again ). Is there any manual or notes or advice you can give me, in order to achieve this dream ?( Mainly follow a course or heading or vor, with the use of Sperry original auto-pilot, with no changes in original maam panels & textures, of course !!! )Thanks in advance for your help.Warm Regards.Mapez.

I am very frustrated. I have tried countless times to start the Avenger from cold and dark following the checklist to no avail. Everything seems to be right until I flip the starter switch to mesh and nothing. The only way I can start it from cold and dark is by Control + E. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After a long layoff I have come back to FS and one of my favourite aircraft (MAAM DC3) now I have a setup capable of doing FSX justice. I use saitek rudder pedals which are setup as specified and work well in all configurations. However, I'm having great difficulty in keeing the DC 3 from veering off the runway during landing even with full rudder deflection. I do use real weather (ASE) but although there is a crosswind it isn't something I would consider a problem for an aircraft the size of a DC 3 (< 7Kts). Am I missing something? When I flew it before I used a twist joystick for rudder and don't remember this problem. Any tips?

I just installed Briefing Time 7th Edition from a CD to FSX Gold Edition. Operating system is Win 7. It flys great, however I'm trying to figure how to select from the 40 different paint selections. The Aircraft Selection only lists; North American B-25, North American Gunship, North American PBJ-1 and North American PBJ-1 Gunship and I've checked "Details" on each one. I do have the DX10 oreview function turned off. I suspect I'm overlooking some instructions somewhere. I have checked the "online" Manual and don't seem to find anything there. My system has an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe mainboard with an Intel Quad 4 Processor, 8 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3850.0 Video Card an…

When I install the "panel' or the "Sperry panel" the cockpit view is completely black background with the gauges showing. The VC is OK. The "read me" talks about a DCAMAAM4.ZIP.. Do I need that before the DCAMAAM5? I've placed the panel cfg in the pansl folder of the RD4 and overwritten the original file, which I saved. When I go back everything returns to normal so I haven'y corrupted anything.I'm sure there's a way.The C47 expansion is just great. Thanks forcall your effort.Howard

I recently (and finally) got around to purchasing the Briefing Time v7 and R4D/DC-3/C-47 v10 packages. DL'd and installed with no problems. My OS is Windows 7, if that is germaine to this issue. Both models performed flawlessly until recently. I added a number of textures to my DC-3s and C-47s and A single one to the R4D. No big problems there, but when I went to load a DC-3 (Cargo) model the sim told me that it was unable to load the R4D.gau file and that is/was where everything just STOPPED! When this happens, my only apparent option is to restart the computer via the Task Manager. I tried re-installing the R4D.gau file manually. No Joy. I have perused this fo…

New at this add-on World! After purchasing the DC3/C47 software, became gutsy, wanted to change the steering to the rudder, hey I am old, fingers slow, hate to keep running all over the infield, tarmack, etc etc. Followed, I thought the easy directions, Oops, lost the A/c from the FS2004 menu. In the FS9 directory, under aircraft, low and behold, the file for DC3 passenger sits, why can't I see the A/C under Douglas? I was able to change to the new panel setup, but the rudder deal is a mess. A little help Someone ! Semper Fi "Hoorah"

I successfully downloaded and extracted subject file. Subsequently, I installed the extracted files to the (default) directory "C Program Files Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9" (which I was propted to create because it did not exist). Then, I loaded FS 2004 and no new DC3 appeared in the "Douglas" category. Note: (For some reason) my FS 2004 installed itself in the directory "C Program Files (x86) Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9." Then I extracted the files to "C Program Files (x86) Microscoft Games\Flight Simulator 9. When I opened FS 2004, I got the anticipated "FSSOUND.DLL FALSE ERROR FLAG." I selected load, as instructed. When I accessed the "Douglas" …

I'm still trying to start engines on the DC-3.I did whatch the video, and printed out the manual section,of how to start the engines. The engine starting part of the manual, doesn't help me much.I did also try to start the engines, while watching the video. The Ctrl+E shure won't do it. There's got to be an easier way to start the engines, even if there's something I can modify in the acft. cfg. Looking for assistance. GrayRider

For some reason, the Kneeboard checklists do not work in FSX for either the B-25 or the R4D. Both cause a fatal error and crash FSX. I can go directly into the aircraft folders and them open fine in Internet Exploder. On the R4D, the initial checklist that lets you choose version works directly, as do the standard and tutorial versions. I've tried changing security levels and turning off anti-virus, but no joy. Anyone run into this problem?

I just purchased the latest FSX downloads for BT (v7) and the R4D (v10). I've an old version of the R4D for years and really missed having it in FSX. Anyways - I have a couple of questions. The emails that gave the the download links also pointed me to the frre stuff links for both planes. Both of them have anFSX TRANSPARENCY FIX FOR SP2/ACCELERATION link. However, the one for Briefing Time says it's not required or compatible with the v7 download. What about the R4D? Do I need it since I downloaded the FSX version? I downloaded the users manuals and the scanned original manuals for both aircraft. Most of the other "free stuff" items for both aircraft seem to refer…
