I seen several old posts on DC3 engine start problem with different solutions: Without modifying/changing any aircraft.cfg values or having to set your FS9.1 FPS (frames per second) to a specific value. Try this From cold and dark: Master ON Mixture rich Throttle cracked Prop control forward Master ignition ON Fuel boost on Mags both Prime Left 6 times START LEFT SWITCH (click it) VIB LEFT (click it) It starts.

I'm afraid I'm still having MAAM-SIM withdrawl issues. From the looks of the teasers we saw back in 2011, the Stearman had to be fairly close to being finished when the plug was pulled on future project development. Is there any chance that this project will be finished by the former team or a new team, and give MAAM-SIM and the museum a last hurrah in in what was easily the best series of warbird aircraft ever made for flight simulation? It crossed my mind that the appearance of an almost identical and impressive Stearman in the MS Flight game might have been straw that broke the camels back. We now know that Flight was a still-born project and the flight models f…

  3. Is there any fix for the crashes to the desktop when trying to use the TBF/TBM and Tarpon in WIN7 64 bit FSX Acceleration? Thanks, Bob.

  4. Looking for the file linked in the old topic: FS2002 Release Date for the Water Baby (XC_alpha.zip) - the link is dead, I can't find it on the MAAM website, here, at other online flightsim file archives, nor via Google, and the Wayback Machine doesn't have it either. Alternatively, does anyone have a replacement FS2002 flight model for the XC-47 that's better than the above, perhaps modded from one of the MAAM C-47A planes to downgrade performance appropriately for the float version? Or, did MAAM ever actually release a FS2002 version of the XC-47C (and I missed it)?

Good afternoon, When flying the B-25 in VC mode. It often happens that part of the instrument panel shows double meters. When ticking the radio panel, that panel becomes blurred. I use windows 7. The 2D panel does not give any problems. Could you advice me what to do. Thanks Hanss

Hello I have owned and flown the MAAM DC-3 in FS2004 for years and love it. I have always used the yoke removed VC and the IFR Panel with the Bendix Radio. The 2 files are names dcmaam10.zip and dcamaam4.zip. I have recently migrated to FSX and decided after trolling the forums (and attempting to convert my FS9 Maam myself) I decided to purchase the most recent version of the MAAM DC-3 for FSX. I'm pleased with the aircraft and have added my paint jobs etc. I have attempted the use the Yoke removal tool and found that while works in some of the models appears cloaked or semi-invisible in others (not a problem I can live with the Yoke in OY-BPB etc). I attem…

I've been flying an earlier version of the FS9 Briefing Time for a couple of years, and decided to treat myself to a birthday gift by upgrading to the 7th Edition. My CD arrived today, and I'm already up and flying.Everything is as expected. Thanks for the great job. There is one thing I noticed, however, that is different from my older version.Apparently, I am not getting any glass textures in the VC. There are no glass reflections nor overhead green shading. The texture folders are identical to my older version (which I still have intact, on an external drive), and the glas_t.bmp and glas_gr_t.bmp are present.Anyway to get my glass textures back? Or was this a tra…

Hi out there, I'm running Win7 Professional and FSX with acceleration. My MAAM planes all move 10 degrees when I try to adjust my heading. I know this has been reported many times but I can't find an answer. Did it ever get fixed? Win Rodgers

It is now two days since I purchased the Briefing Time 7th edition (download version) for FS2004. I have the invoice from the transaction, but I have had no email confirmation or download link from the MAAM shop. Is this normal? Can anyone advise how long it takes to receive the product after purchase?

Although I downloaded MAAM code years ago, I never got serious with it till now. I seem to have adopted the C47 "Sugar Blues". I've been trying to get the plane to fly VOR. Is this possible? My panel has the DME1 gauge from which I can set the VOR radial and a switch selecting "VOR/DME, "RNAV", or "APPR" This suggests to me this will follow a VOR radial and may even follow a glideslope. The needle on the VOR1 OBI does react to the chosen radial. I just can't figure out if it is supposed to work and how.It seems everything is there except the servos to make it work. I also would like to know what version of the code I have. How do I find it? Please help me guys Win …

I've found a couple of posts but no definitive answer about removing the yoke in the fsx version of the dc3. Does the fs9 fix work, or is there one specifically for fsx? Thanks.

  12. Started by mikeyankeevictor,

How do you change the pictures of the pilots in the MAAM DC3? I've edited the file that seems to contain them, re-saved as a .bmp but I can't seem to get it to work.

  13. While I appreciate realistic flight models and experiencing what it would be to drive an actual DC3, and while I am not going for totally unrealistic; I just want to be able to have something that is better than what Microsoft offers yet satisfy my enjoyment in perhaps not being so perplexed as to why my left engine won't start or why it runs pretty good then quits midflight or why I can get it partially started during takeoff roll yet it won't fully start... why not make it a bit more simple please.

  14. I'm surprised that you would have to steer the DC3 the same way as the classic DC3 taildragger, but since the floats/amphibians were prototypes wouldn't they have been steered by turning the front wheels rather than differential braking and differential engine throttling? If not, then this should be corrected IMO.

  15. I download a paint scheme and did what it said. It loaded but it was empty from the outside, so obviously more is needed for FSX. What can I do?I was also very interested in the IFR panel and downloaded that and I'm pretty sure I got it installed according to the instructions, yet it does not work either. As I indicated this is the MAAM DC3 in FSX, any suggestions?

Hello,I have been a mamm sims dc-3 owner for awhile now and have a question. I do repaints occasionally of the dc-3 when the need arises, and have recently noticed with the paint I am currently working on, that the passenger entrance/exit stairs of the passenger mamms dc-3 aircraft located right rear is on the wrong side of the aircraft. All of the photos and other dc-3's have the rear door on the left side. Is there a fix or update for this available, as I really like the estectics of the aircraft and would like to continue paints on this aircraft.

Just downloaded and installed the FSX version. Everything is there except, the panel's have no gauges. I see the Gauge file over in gauges, but the panels, 2-D and VC are there with nothing in them. I'm sure I screwed something up, any ideas?

I use the dc3 passenger version with fs9. On the pilots side below the window and near the comm box there is a very slight opening that runs from the edge of the window to about halfway down, typically a straight line down. It is not connected there and the outside is visible. Is this normal? The C47 has this problem except for CY47A- 0YBPB. the XC47 does NOT have this problem. I use windows xp with a 1 year old computer, please help, I truly love this aircraft!

I'm thoroughly enjoying the FSX DC-3. I'm able to live with some of the glitches - worked out the engine starting issues and I can make the Sperry autopilot work in spite of the 10 degree jumps.I'm having a problem with the kneeboard checklists. The manual says:NOTE: In order for the choice to be remembered, you must have your Windows Security set to allow cookies from local web pages. How do I set my security in Windows 7 to allow cookies from local web pages? I can open both the tutorial and the regular checklists with my browser, but I cannot access the checklists from the kneeboard.Other than that, if I empty the auxiliary tanks, select the main tanks, and start th…

Hi Bill.. Its Amanda. I have a question for you. Not sure if it would be possible with FSX. Remember when i told you about my little run in with the mountian Cyclops and the Mitchell being perched about half way up.? It seams to me that its not right that i can just climb back into the same aircraft again right after i do that. Would their be a way of creating a program for FSX that would leave an airplane in its wrecked state, and allow you to do a vertual rebuild of it.Its just a thought. But it might be somewhat fun to find an old plane like that and for the simmer to do the rebuild. I know it would be a very large program, and require CFGs for everything. But it would…
