I have noticed with the repaint kit supplied at the MAAMS Website for the MAAMS DC-3 that when I paint the bm_fuse_1_t.bmp, and the bm_fuse_2_t.bmp and view in the flight simulator there is a gray unpainted line that appears between the 2 sections. I have tried shifting the texture 1 pixel to the left/right which ever would be needed, and applying the paint in the Editor then shifting the texture back, as the opposite side would show when shifted, no texture at all just the transparent background. So shifting back in place was needed after painting the 1 pixel off screen to line the template back up. I paint using Adobe, and usually 1024/1024 resolution saving a…

I just installed the MAAM R4D in FSX and have only one problem. The overhead panel causes the sim to crash. All other panels and icons work with no problem. I click on the icon for the overhead and get a fatal error. I click shift 4 and get a fatal error. I uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled 3 times and get the same error. I installed on my other computer and have no problems. What could it be?

In my continuing quest to get my Avenger running properly on FS9 (i.e., no CTD's) I have been trying to reinstall SP1, but when I download it from the "Free Stuff" page on the Maam Sim website and attempt to open the unzipped files I get error messages and the files won't open. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Hello,Exists some hope that resolves these cursed cdt of maam_tbm.gau?I have tried all the suggested methods, I have changed to all the driver of the ati, one by one, from the 7,11 to the last one.Nothing to make, and the thing indeed begins to disturb.I cannot change to airplane and not even airport, even if recharges the land goes in cdt.I can only load to create the flight, and then more nothing.Bye.

Is the MAAM online store still being attended? Has anybody ordered from there recently? Or is it just a shell? (Even though, no matter which time you visit the store it claims there are like a dozen other visitors online right now. But somehow I doubt that...) Nearly a month ago I placed an order online for a plane download, and while my credit card was charged, until now I still haven't received anything. I sent them three emails, I even called them twice, but I have not received a single email response, and while the last person I talked to (Lee) promised to look into it, nothing has happened whatsoever (this was two weeks ago). I understand their software is…

Hello all, Since 2008 I have been flying the B-25 and the DC-3 from MAAM. I truly love these magnificent airplanes. Recently I found out that there's a v7 of the B-25. Because of the new features I decided yesterday to buy it for FS2004. The order, download and installation all went fine after I had uninstalled the previous version first. When I start FS2004 and try to make a flight I can select the B-25 with many liveries in the aircraft list but after clicking the button Fly now FS2004 crashes to desktop. I tried a reinstallment but to no vain. Can anyone help me with this problem? What went wrong? My other planes still work perfectly so the problem only occurs with…

I purchased the download DC3 package a few weeks ago and note a lot of, mostly negative, forum comments . After some research and trial and error I offer the following critique. My computer uses Windows 7. My intent is purely constructive. Missing gauges: I experienced missing altimeters in all but the R4D-6. Looking at the panel.cfg file, located in the Aircraft/Panel folder for the R4D-6, I saw [Minipanel] gauge 03 Altimeter1 [Vcockpit04] gauge10 Altimeter1 [Vcockpit05] gauge10 Altimeter2 The panel.cfg files for the aircraft missing the altimeter showed "gauge**Altimeter" without any numbers. When I used Notepad to edit the panel.cfg files adding the number…

  10. Hi, I've used the MAAM-Sim DC-3 for years in FS2004, over countless hundreds of miles, and like to think that I know my way around the cockpit and the basic Sperry autopilot. However, having recently updated my PC to a Win7 64-bit system I came to fly the DC-3 today only to find that suddenly, when the Sperry Pilot is activated, the DC-3 flies 180degrees in the wrong direction ! This appears to be a problem limited to the heading hold element, as the Elevator and Aileron knobs appear to be working correctly and as before. Is this a problem anyone else has come across before, and is it likely to be a limitation related to Win 7 64-bit or some sort of corruption…

Just made the leap and spent the 30.00 on the MAAM-SIM R4D/DC-3/C-47 add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX. I downloaded and ran the install on my FSX installation. Really looking forward to flying this model for my DC-3 Airways flights. ( Had already downloaded the zip with the DCA skins in anticipation) Couple of initial hiccups appeared. Except for the four 50819 models all of the other models have a gray blanked out altimeter area in the VC panel. Also the view out of the 2D panel is always up. Even in level flight, nothing but sky. Even in the model on floats you are looking straight ahead in the VC panel as you would expect and still up at the sky in …

  15. I just purchased the MAAM sim Dc-3 Package for FSX. However, I installed and none of the gauges are showing up. I've tried everything that I can think of. I've installed using Admin mode, Installed them into a (x86) program folder and then copied them over to FSX, Uninstalled and re-installed, removed the gauges from the config file and restarted... I've tried installing the FSX update... Nothing I am doing is making any difference and I just spend $30 and cannot use the product. It's a little frustrating for sure! ha ha... Anyone have any advice? Tony

I wonder if someone can help on a problem that I have seen no reference to anywhere. I like to start my MAAM DC3 using the FSX starter keys, i.e. ctrl+1 etc. (I use voice recognition software so this works well.) However, recently when I do this (having turned all the appropriate switches on) the aircraft literally leaps 200 feet in the air. Yes, I mean 200 feet, straight up. It then slowly crashes to the ground out of control. This only happens with the ctrl+1, ctrl+2 keys - with ctrl+E everything is fine, both engines start. I have tried to isolate what effects this, without success. The only thing that comes close is that if I don't turn the avionics on until after eng…

Well folks...I've followed MAAM and their superb Flight Sim aircraft for a number of years. Matter of fact I have the Avenger, the B-25 and the wonderful DC-3/C-47 and still fly them...in FSX. However, I fear something has happened to their aircraft production apparatus, so to speak. Many moons have passed without a product specifically for FSX despite plans and exortations. No yellow trainer, no FSX DC3, etc. So 'tis a sad day for me that I state what has been obvious. If I didn't give a hoot I wouldn't say anything. I would like to turn this trend around some how. If there is anything I can do (realistically), I am volunteering to help reverse the trend. …

I'm looking for the MAAM-SIM D-Day C-47 'Skytrain' and Dakota Mk III Expansion Pack and other free files. The MAAM site offers a link to them which is directed at the Flightsim.com library. The links to Flightsim.com (from the MAAM site) appear to be invalid at Flightsim.com. The files on my installation disk are dated 2004 so I beleive that the files I'm seeking are not present (on my disk). Please tell me where I can "MAAM-SIM D-Day C-47 'Skytrain' and Dakota Mk III Expansion Pack" and the other free files that are listed on the MAAM web site.. Many thanks, Ken Boardman

Using the DC3 in the Win7-64 / FSX environment and having the old 10 degree heading jump issue. Using the mouse wheel isn't helping. Is there a fix or good work-around for this issue that will allow for 1 degree auto pilot heading changes? Thank you, Ken Boardman

Hello fellow MAAM sim flyers, I operate FSX, with Windows XP Media x86 SP3, PC and the cargo doors from what I have read and seen is that both doors should be able to swing open. I can only get the 1st door with the stairs to open with shift+E as it should be. I do the shift+E+2 to attempt a opening of the 2nd door and a window opens showing one of the pop up panels for the panel. Everything else works fine the cargo with the / key and etc. Does someone know the command for this with FSX, sure would be appreciated. Or perhaps a work around. Thank you.

  24. Bill, You may want to take down the links on the freeware page for the Yanco Midway and Coral Sea scenery packages. I finally decided to try these, only to discover that his page is down and the files are no longer available for FS9. I did locate the Midway files on flightsim.com, but haven't had much luck on finding the Coral Sea files. There are updated packages for FSX on various sites, but again the links from the MAAM freeware page no longer are functioning. Thanks --WH
