DC 3 freighter. Okay, LOL scared the heck out of me. Flying final to KBLI, just passed IA and just about to FAF, about 98knts. When all of a sudden, out of nowhere all I heard was a flock of frightened chickens that sounded off in the cockpit and both engines quit. I was laughing so hard I didn't care that I crashed. So, what's up?. What did I do or didn't do? 'tis a puzzle to me. Anybody else have this happen to them? Kindest Regards Grizz Wallace KBFI Win 7 64 FSX/accel.

I recently installed FSX and am considering purchasing the FSX version of the MAAM-SIM DC-3. Do the repaints that are on the MAAM website for the DC-3 also work in the FSX version? Thank you. Gary

Hello I wonder i have overlooked any information on operating the BT off carriers, and landing it by the use of arrestor cables. I have installed the free USS Nimitz by Javier Fernandez (great work - a great standinn for the USS Hornet) and would like to fly "the Doolitle way". I have made no alterations on neighter the BT,the ship or FSX. Right now im tired of returning to the AC in a rubber dinghy, and would appreciate any help to be able to take-off and land. (i know all about flying, shortfield TO and Landings though) B) Take Care Jens Peter

According to page 20 of the Pilot Training Manual the handle for the parking brake should be on the right side of the Control Pedestal Switch Panel (electrical), but I can't find it in the VC, nor in 2D panels. Where is it or has it been forgotten?

I have just done a silly thing and corrupted my R4D-6 aircraft - without a copy !!. I thought I might be able to delete and re-install just the R4D-6 from the CD but there is just an .exe file on there [plus other things]. Is this possible or must I delete all MAAM aircraft and start again ? Thanks.

Hello All, Have just installed DC3s in FSX from the FS9 disks plus the MAAM distributed 'updates' for FSX. When looking at the R4D from the front I can see right through the front of the engine cowlings so it seems it doesnt have any engines ! The other MAAM DC3s dont have the same issue. Now this may have been covered somewhere else but I cant find it. Can anyone help please ? Thanks.

I am returning to flight sim after some time absent and have encountered a problem with the installation of my MAAM DC3 into FS2004. At one time I had it working, but I am now using a different computer with MS Win7 as the operating system. After the install I get the message that it has installed successfully, but I can't find the airplane in the hanger. Any help would be appreciated.

When I bought the DC-3 way back (2002) it was CD. Same for BT a few years back. Now I see that only the TBM is available on CD. Does that mean I need an internet connection etc to install the DC-3 if I bought the FS9 version?

Hi, does anyone have any opinions on how Skysong's B-25 sounds stack up against those provided with MAAM's briefing time? Just wondering if they are aimed at freeware aircraft rather than MAAM'S rather fine example. thanks, mark

I'm flying the MAAM United DC3 in FSX DX10 using Steve's fixer program and it is working great apart from one small issue - parts of the engine and prop shaft are missing. I fixed this for DX9 by copying the r4d_engineparts.bmp file from texture.bea to texture.ual, but for some reason this fix does not seem to work with DX10. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone have a fix for the fix?

A repaint for use in FSX of one of the many B-25's based on Corsica: you'll find the paint here. It is meant for FSX, so it contains dds files. If you want to use it in FS9 (which I don't have anymore), you have to open the texture files in dxtbmp, flip them vertically and save them as bmp's. You should be fine them, though I haven't tested it.

I recently purchased Briefing Time ver 7 and enjoy it, I do how every have an issue with certain gauges and all lights cease to function after about 7-10 minutes of flight. It seems the "battery" goes "dead". There is no "generator" switch and I'm at at loss of what to do. Any suggestions? Also was wondering if inside the VC we should see the tinted panels as some screen shots I've seen do, but none of mine do. Thank you for your time and another great aircraft, I really love my "Turkey" Larry

I bought the B-25 2hours ago and don`t get her working correctly. Meanwhile i installed her three times, deleted everything with MAAM inside, restarted the PC,deleted the files described in the readme1--nothing.Then i added the glass fix, also no success. I have no glass,no pilots,no exhaust flames. I searched all HDD`s for the words MAAM or MAAM B-25 and deleted what i found. Need help. Mike

  17. Has anyone successfully installed Briefing Time 7th Edition into P3Dv2 ? (BT_FSX_v7.exe) . It functions very well in P3D v1.4. All texture variants showing up and gauges all function without a problem . I did use the Estonia Migration Tool (EMT) for v1.4 . Here is the strange thing when using P3Dv2 . I again used the EMT to load BT_FSX_v7.exe into V2 . As far as I can tell , everything gets installed into their proper folders (gauges into Gauge folder etc) and the AC shows up in the AC Selection Menu with all the texture variants but when I click on one of the textures to load the AC , I immediately get kicked to the desktop . I've uninstalled and reinstalled several time…

thanks for helping me out in the disc thread! i downloaded BT but when i select it, the sim crashes before the plane can load a preview. any ideas?

  19. My BT B-25 shuts down fsx whenever I try, within FSX, to end the flight. This happens whether I have been flying for a while or just sitting on the runway reading thru check list etc. Time is not logged and have to re-start the program to fly another plane etc. HP Pavilion, 8mb, Vista Home Premium SP2, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 2.33 GHz, 64 Bit. Hello all, I purchased the MAAM-SIM R4D FSX download and after installation, and a restart of my computer I have no guages except the Sperry. I know that this has been a problem before and I have checked my registry and deleted the parts of the fsx.cfg file but it still persists.. I have the Briefing Time as well and I have no issues with it working. Any clues and or a way to fix it? Thanks Jonathan Edit: I am running FSX/Acceleration if that helps.

I thought it high time we re-iterate what has been said in a number of threads to help alleviate some of the confusion and angst. Both the B-25 'Briefing Time' and the R4D/DC-3/C-47 packages are designed and sold for FS2004. Some months ago we put out FSX Basic Compatibility Updates for both packages that allowed the FS9 planes to be installed and flown in FSX. With very few problems, this worked fine. But this was prior to the release of the FSX SP1 and the Acceleration upgrades. These have introduced another set of problems that we are not currently equipped or able to address because of time constraints. MAAM-SIM is working full time in final development and beta te…

I realize this topic was posted in June of 2011 but I think it still needs some clarification. I have the 8th edition CD, and I noticed that the cargo version has an empty weight of 19,021 lbs. which is what is listed on the the reference tab of the kneeboard. The pax version has an empty weight of 16,125 lbs. So you strip out the seats and galley and head to make a cargo version and you wind up with and aircraft that is almost 3,000 lbs heavier? One of my fellow pilots at DC-3 Airways says, "I have the latest (10th edition) CD and all the .cfg files for both FS9 and FSX have the 16125 empty weight figure except for the FS9 C-47A "Sugar Blues" which has the 19021 e…
