Hey, I just ordered my copy of the R4D/DC-3 and was wondering if there is a paint kit available for it or one in the works maybe. Thanks,
-
I ordered the GMax R4D on 07/07, but so far I haven't seen any disc as of yet. Usually shipping from the U.S. takes about a way, so obviously three weeks without any mail makes me a bit worried it was lost along the way.Any chance that one of the MAAM team members can look up wether my order was sent out to The Netherlands, and when? Thanks in advance.Johan de Vries

I really like the your modified panels for the MAAM-SIM DC-3. They are just what is needed to modernize the DC-3 to fly in airline service in today's ATC/ILS environment.Just one small problem. When switching back from IFR view to Main Panel view, the switch icon on the IFR view is located such that it is hidden or partially hidden by the red message bar (when present) at the bottom of the screen in some resolutions. It would be nice to have the icon a bit higher on the screen. Also it would be great to have digital readouts for the heading bug and course pointers on the HSI.Well done, MarkSandy

Hello All.I posted some pictures on simflight froma flight I performed with the MAAM DC3 from Barbados to Guadalope, go ahead and check them out - I really likes the outcome! But a warning first. There are MANY pictures in there, so this is not from the 56k modem people (unless you're ready to wait a while..).Anywway, I took off and climbed to 8,000 feet, where she cruised at 30.5 MP with about 130 kts. Some of this trip was kinda bumpy because of cloud turbulance, but I really enjoyed her this time! Here is the link to the pics:http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?p=156115Enjoy!

First let me just say that I am totally in love with the new DC3! I like it so much that I'm doing an around the world flight in it. I do have one question though. Is the sound of the new one like the one that we had in FS 2002? I don't have 2002 installed any more so I'm really not able to check this out, but it just seems that the 2004 model has a very toned down sound to it. At full throttle it almost sounds like a small twin. Not at all like I remember it in 2002. I have never been in a real DC3 so I really don't have a clue what it should sound like anyway.:-lol I'm not trying to be negetive here because I think this is the best add-on I have bought so far (an I have…

Whenever the auto pilot is engage the plane "jerks" to the new heading without any bank. Any fix for this problem. So far it's the only flaw I can find in this absolutely great plane!

Hello all.I have read carefully the MAAM manual and PTM, and I do understand how to operate the (not so complicated) fuel management system on the plane. However, I didn't find anywhere in the manuals how to load and manage fuel in-flight? Do I fill the main tanks first and only then the aux tanks? If so, do I pump fro, AUX first and when they're drained go to the main tanks? Or is it managed differently?Perhaps someone can shed some light on this issue?

Well I must say that im really impressed with MAAM-SIM's redintion of the R4D its so great to fly (once you figure out how to start it :))But anyway thanks Guys

I downloaded and installed the patch, which appears to have been successful. However, I'm back to being unable to put the positive lock lever in full up position to allow me to mouseclick the landing gear up. This time around, it's impossible, not even after using the keyboard to raise the gear and click the gear lever to re-extend.Any ideas? Would the IFR panel addon have caused this somehow?

Hello to the R4D team, and thanks. This release of the R4D pretty much rounded outmy wish list for "things I had for FS2k2 that I wantfor FS9" list. This version is a significant improvement over the previousversion, which I loved. I've been flying this aircraft for abouta month now, and it just feels like "home". It definitely must be a labor of love for those that created it.You actually have to trim this plane on more than one axis..."this is the coolest thing I have ever seen, uhh-hu-hu-huh."

Everything works superbly well on my DC-3/R4D except for the cargo loading. When I press the forward slash (/) key as it says in the caption under the screenshot of the BAE bird cargo compartment nothing happens. The aircraft remains empty.I've gone through the manual a couple of times but can find nothing else about cargo loading/unloading.Am I missing something here?Noel

I have been enjoying the latest version of the R4D/DC-3 and am trying to explore the virtual cockpit and cabin views. Using the FS key commands, I am not able to actually get into the virtual cabin. Starting from the cockpit, I only get as far as the door that separates the cabin from the cockpit. Is this normal, or do I need Active Camera in order to get into the cabin itself?Gary

Ok, at 30 inches and 2055 RPM, she flies 1 kt faster than the manual says... JUST KIDDING!Awesome work. The B-25 and the DC-3 put all the planes that come with FS2004 to absolute shame. Great stuff. I particularly like the left-right mouse button, and the mouse scroll-wheel control of the radio freqs. Great idea. I had a hard time figuring out how to taxi the beast -- I don't have "real" rudder pedals, or "real" differential throttles. I found the F11/F12 key for differential brakes work fine for taxing, but not before I ended up in the tall grass... (lesson learned: read the manual.)Speaking of which: The HTM manual says that the "start-up" flights default with …

I just downloaded and installed the above patch and most of the gauges have disappeared from the panels in the R4D and DC-3's. Any ideas as to why this may have occurred? Thanks,Gary

Did any one else from Germany ordered it and how long did it take it for the CD to arrive?I have not yet recieved the CD today. 5 days went by now. I don't know if it is normal these days to wait 5 to 8 days befor getting nervous, for the post mail service to deliver.

I have an odd problem which recurs occasionally and I can't isolate the reason - it may be flying technique but I think I am doing the same thing each time.I am climbing out of the airport on prescribed MP and revs, mixture on fully rich. Suddenly the engines appear to cut out. MP drops to 10, ASI drops almost instantly to 0, revs fall back to 15.The nose pitches down and the engines restart. Airspeed recovers, MP & revs return to original levels.Whole thing then repeats until eventually I just run out of sky!Cut outs seem to occur more frequently at higher MP settings...Any help welcomed....
