Hello, I just purchased my new CD version of the R4D for FS2002 & FS9. My question is why don't I have a Float Plane showing up in FS2002? I also installed it in my FS2004 and I do have a float version of the DC-3 showing up there but not in FS2002. On my disk it tells me that I have ( 4 add-on aircraft for flight simulator 2002 and 2004 USN,UAL,BEA and XC-47C Amphibian )It doesn't say that the XC-47C Amphibian is for FS2004 only and thats why I'm asking.I was really hoping that I had a float plane of the DC-3 in FS2002 because I use FS2002 alot more then FS9,anyway to make it work? One other question, before receiving my new version of the R4D in the mail I had t…

Hey y'all, I had an interesting experience with the DC-3 lastnight. I made an approach in about 2 miles visability, temptures around freezing. I had the cowl flaps trailing, rpm about 2400, manifold pressure about 20. I was high and fast when I gained sight of the runway, but since it was a longer runway, I decided to go ahead and land long, slowing down as much as I could. As I recall, my airspeed was somewhere around 95-100 knots indicated when I had visual on the runway. I slowed and nearly came to a stop on the runway and needed a little more power to taxi clear but couldn't get any more than about 17lbs manifold pressure, not enough to get the plane moving again. I e…

I realize this is the support forum, but I have to ask, will the MAAMSIM team be doing the P2V Neptune and/or the Martin 404? I would LOVE to have these aircraft, and would break out the credit card without hestitation, considering the quality of both BT and the R4D.Looking forward to any new projects from MAAMSIM.

Hi Guys,I recently got a load adjuster for the C-47/R4D (a slide rule dealing with the weight & balance of the aircraft) and I would appreciate to get a scan of the booklet of the load adjuster instruction that comes with the airplane. So far I have only the "Weight & Balance" chapter of the PTM as a guide but I am looking for further details about the operation of this slide rule.Thank you in advance, altack

Hi. Since I've loaded the MAAM DC3 I've noticed that the Nav Lights on the default DC3 are located in space, set a couple of yards away from the plane and that the panel light will not illuminate in the VC.All seems ok with the MAAM plane however so it may be something else,so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi troops. At last the new, and long overdue, MAAM-SIM web pages have been put up. http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/web.jpgI think you'll find them a bit more informative and better organized than the old mish-mash. Some of the old stuff may still be up, but it will be coming down soon. Take a look at http://www.maam.org/maam_sim.html and I hope you like them.Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, Sodja & Beaumonthttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Hi all. I have recently purchased the R4D, and have done a lot of flying. I have noticed that at random times, the motion on the throttle quadrant loses it's "linear" movement, and the levers can only move from maximum to minimum - ie, I cannot set the mixture levers to anything between the two extremes, and similarly for the propellor pitch. I have a CH flight yoke, so the throttle I adjust with the little throttle lever on my hardware, which gives me no problem. Has anyone experienced this problem, any ideas? Once this happens, it does not return to normal. The flight does not start with this problem, I can normally follow all instructions as far as the settings are con…

Hello there. Many thanks for the speedy sending of the DC3. I've uploaded it and it looks good. However I am in trouble with the autopilot; when I turn it on the plane will lurch the nose to the left and from an outside view you can see the rudder kicked right over.I've tried setting the speed control wheels to zero and that stops it, but it also stops it doing anything at all! Any advice appreciated.

Gentlemen of MAAM, and anyone else that might have the Douglas R4D-6.I am coming here to post an inquiry from one of the members of the forum I am Payware Editor of.Our member only has a yahoo email account and because of that he is unable to ask himself, so I have told him, on his behalf, that since I have a forum membership here, that I would be more than happy to pose his question to you all.Basically he is in need of a fix for the clarity of the windows/cockpit, to make them more translucent if at all possible. He is wondering if there is a way to make them as clear as those of the B-25 which he also enjoys. Any help, or answers would be greatly appreciated. Unfortun…

Hello gents! After convinced by the group over at the SOH, I decided to purchse "Briefing Time".One small problem - uh.... lol I see where I can buy the FS2002 version and below is a link to the details of the upgrade available as of November 2003 that is FS2K4 compatible.Obviously I want the 2nd option, but I can't buy that one. Only the first one. I assume this means I must buy the FS2002 version and then upgrade it with the patches and what-not off your site, or do you ship the FS2004 version by default now? Thanks for your time!

I just love this MAAM DC-3. The default DC-3 of FS9 was great but this much much better in every way. Well, not in every... We still have a very limited selection of repaints. Are the any new liveries coming? Is there some reason for that limited selection? What about the European repaint, are there any coming? Anyone doing or interested to do these?http://www.kotiposti.net/syrjamaki/maambanner.jpghttp://www.kotiposti.net/syrjamaki/maambanner.jpg

Hi there, I hope you're all doing well. On advice from Bill Rambow at Maam-Sim, I was asked to share my findings with all of you. I suggested to Bill that a fix does exist for the problem of controls being stuck in 10 degree increments while the AP is engaged on the Maam DC-3. It happens with other high-end planes designed for MS Flight simulator too. The fix is provided by a fully registered version Peter Dowsen's excellent FSUIPC utility for FS8 / FS9. The fix is called "Fix control acceleration" and it applies to users that use joystick / yoke setups. I'm more than happy to report that I have no such problems using the Maam DC-3 with my yoke or joystick PC's runnin…

I submitted an application to join DC3 Airways on October 19th and have not recieved any response back as to whether I was denied or accepted for membership. I have tried emailing DC3 Airways directly, I have sent a private message to Mark Beaumont (I am sorry, I know you are just fleet manager), I tried registering with their forums after which I recieved an activation email for the forum, however I am unable log in. I note that from October 19th to Sunday, November 14th, DC3 Airways has added 13 new members according to their roster. I chose to join DC3 Airways because I am look…
