Check out this site on the US Airborne in Operation Neptune:http://www.6juin1944.com/assaut/aeropus/en_formation.phpThis page shows the basic flight formation and below are links with actual unit formations. The Maps link has air routes, drop plans, and actual drop maps for the operation.Lots of good stuff for anxious C-47 pilots just waiting for our birds!Cheers,Peterhttp://home.earthlink.net/~pmhemm/Hemm_Signature.jpg

Who is planning on going to the airshow June 3-5, 2005 in Reading, PA? As of right now, I plan on attending Sunday. Is there a good spot and time for us all to rally together? It might be nice to have some sort of MAAM sim-fliers meeting.

Hi guys,Quick question. I went to POPE AFB this past weekend to thier air show and the security was so tight, they would not let people bring bags or coolers of any kind in. What kind of restrictions will there be at MAAM's show this weekend. Thanks a million,Jeff "Hawk" Hawkins

I must have been a sleep when this was announced. It looks great. I saw the Avenger last summer before it was flown. I had been hoping that this would be a future project. I look forward to getting it when it arrives. I hope someday you plan to do ther P61 also. I know that it is in restoration but it would be a great addition to the MAAM hangar.See you on WWII weekend.Andrew

Just noticed the news about the C-47! Fantastic looking aircraft! Don't know if you followed my suggestion some time ago about releasing it on D-Day, but I still think you've chosen the best date! Unfortunately (?), I'm on holidays starting Monday and will have to wait till the end of the month of June before I can get it. But it'll sure be worth the wait. Outstanding job, fellas! Many many thanks!

Now I only have to wait for the passenger seat versions and I'm done with the Arkia thing...http://online.vatsimindicators.net/825051/142.png

Hi everyone,Am busy working on my first repaint and decided on doing the South African Airforce Dakota in the standard camo scheme. Still lots to do though, but I'm (sort of) happy with the progress so farhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/116202.jpgBestErich Berner

I just loaded the R4D package. On every flight, shortly after takeoff, I get these flashing traingualr oblects, that seem to stretch from the horizon, pointing back at the center of the plane. They're visible in all views. This only happens with the R4D package planes. I've tried reloading the package, no difference.Any Clues?Tony Fenton

Hi all. In case anyone's interested in a consolidated database of DC-3's - reference, new repaint ideas etc, I am in the process of developing a database of all surviving DC-3's in the world. You are welcome to view it at http://iannel.za.net - 50819 is there as well obviously, in the "restoration" category. Can't wait for the day when I move it into the 'Active" category....If anyone shares my passion for this aircraft, and would like to help me populate this database, I can give you access to add aircraft. There are very nice pictures of the aircraft in this database, please, if anyone uses the aircraft for repaints, remodelling etc, just acknowledge the source, as I ha…

Hi,I enjoyed the R4D from the very beginning days and I never had a problem until today. Yesterday I finished a successful flight, saved the flight while parking brakes on and engines shut down and gracefully shut down FS9.1 and my PC. Today I booted my PC as every day and started FS9.1. As I tried to load the previously saved flight I got a failure message similar to "The sim was unable to load this software or aircraft and will be disabled, File: GAUGESMAAM_R4D.GAU" (I had to remember the text from my memory). Pressing the OK button won't work, so I had to kill the FS task. After that issue FS9.1 stops loading well before the startup menu screen with that well known MS …

Sometime ago there was talk of a fire bomber paint and and an effect that simulated fire retardant. That part is not so important but the repaint would be nice. Any one know if there is a repaint available. A search of Avsim came up with nothing. Or would somone be willing to do one? Thanks

Dear B-25 designers,I know that this B-25 is available since long ago, but being a fan of the B-26 I didn't look much at the B-25. 2 Days ago I finally bought the boxed version, installed it, my yaw dropped and hasn't recovered yet.I used to build my own planes for (up to) fs95 (HiFi series) and x-plane because I was never really satisfied with the planes available.Building planes for fs9 is quite something for a single person and after building a Do27 for 770hrs !!! I gave up due to the FSDS2 texturing limitations. I do have a lot of payware planes including the ATR72, A36, LDS767(of course), RealAir Spitfire etc... and they are all very nice. Especially the A36 is a ve…

Hi folks,Here's a screenshot gallery showing progress on the C-47 paratrooper works. Still a week or two to go. F.i. not featured here yet is the seperately removable para exit door. Apart from that "Sugar Blues" of the 89th Troop Carrier Squadron in full D-Day markings features the typical 'spartan' cabin with folding down bucket seats so it can be used as a cargo hauler too. The 2D panel and pop-up window colors have been adapted as well as all the virtual cockpit colors. I suppose that if you don't like green olives this one is not for you. Personally, you can wake me up anytime during day or night for a couple of green olives stuffed with ansjovis.Enough talking, here…
