Hi,I was wondering if it would be at all possible in some future update to increase the rotation speed of the bezels when tuning the VORs etc. It's agonisingly slow at present when you have to make some rapid adjustments to the card, especially in the circuit, and I'd prefer not to have to pause the sim or rely on FSNavigator to expediate things. Some developers have programmed these gauges to rotate faster the longer you hold the mouse over them - Any chance you might implement this feature in the MAAM products?Oh, and another slightly odd thing (and I don't know whether this is something unique to my system or not) I noticed some time ago that my left primer switch oper…

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but my Speed and Time To Station readings from both Nav radios are way off in my DC-3. Quite often it will show speeds in the 300-450 knot range. Any thoughts or fixes?

Hi all. I would like to know if it's possible for me as a user to incorporate the very nicely detailed internal engine textures of Jan's OY-BPB into my existing R4D? The model I use is the ZS-GPL passenger repaint that Heather did - and I think the passenger version is from Mark. Are there any files that I can just copy across from OY-BPB to change the engine textures, or is this completely incoporated in the actual 3-D model?I would appreciate any assistance, a 'No' is also OK.Regards, Ian

Former RAF jet fighter pilot Peter McLeland has posted some super screenshots of MAAM-SIM planes in the past, and he has another great series depicting a tour of Misty Fiords, Alaska. Hi,This is probably for Mark, I think.Recently I passed the 1000 hrs mark flying DAKS for DC-3 Airways but the vast majority of this time was spent driving the MAAM Sim R4D-6 in it's NATS livery (1445.8hrs in total). The main reason for this was simply because it was my prefered ship and configuration, and this particular variant actually performs better on my PC from a CPU standpoint too.It would be greatly appreciated, Mark, if you could help me to celebrate this little milestone in the DCA by providing a company livery for the R4D model(love the green/white Classic version)! I've already tried cobbling one together from other variants, the X-C47C textures appear to fit…

Hi AllI posted a video of the MAAM DC3 to flightsim.com last night. It showcases her in the colours of Springbok Flying Safaris on a typical route from Cape Town to Egypt via Victoria Falls and Mt Kilimanjaro as per the real route. It's 46MB, but hope and trust I've done her justice. Hope you like it.Erich

I have repainted the DC-3 from MAAM to represent C-47 "Turf and Sport Special" from the 61st TCS in Operation MARKET GARDEN during September of 1944. The Plane is bearing invasion stripes on the lower parts of the fuselage and wings. The top side was overpainted after the invasion with OD paint, but it rapidly faded away.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/103675.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/103676.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/103677.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/103678.jpgSo far so good, but here is the problem. Due to the placement of the textures on the model, this is as far as i can extend the invasion stripes on the lower surfaces on the wing…

Is there any way to turn on the instrument panel lights or cockpit lights so that they show up in the virtual cockpit? I can do this for the 2D panel just fine, but when I switch to the virtual cockpit the lights are not on and it is too dark to see the instruments when flying at night.Bill Huntsman

Hello,I've created my own IFR Panel Modification for the MAAMSIM DC-3. I was wondering if I could get permission to upload it to AVSIM and for it to be linked to on your website. It uses all default FS9 gauges, except for an option for Flight1 172R owners to use that planes KAP140 autopilot instead of the default. Here's a picture and description...I enjoy using my DC-3 for IFR flights, and found that the default Directional Gyro made it quite confusing, so I opted to add in the Baron HSI. After that I decided to also add the Baron RMI gauge for better situational awareness. I removed the MAAMSIM VOR1 and ADF gauges. I also added the Bendix King KAP140 autopilot to the co…

Hi,I hope you're not trying to reproduce all of the DC-3 models and variations, you'll never do it! You know what it's like - somebody will always be asking for something ! :-lol I love the DC-3 (I've clocked over 1300hrs using your R4D software over the years...Not to mention over 1000hrs on Briefing Time...Oh dear, oh dear...) but I'm more than happy with just the stars of the show! R4D & B-25.I used the new ambient landing light effect on the R4D and even Briefing Time and it looks really nice! So please don't forget to put the existing MAAM babies at the front of the que. They really could benefit from the extra development time, interactive VC's etc. And while I…

Some corrections.I am having problems with making the invasion stripes COVER the stabilizer fillet. They extend to it and then stop.I am aware that the stripes on the fusilage and the bottom of the right wing do not line up on the right side and does not show up on the left side aileron. These problems have been corrected. The curious thing is that the aeleron is still Olive Drab. The fact that the strip shows on it leads me to believe that the texture is being read. Thanks for yoru consideration regarding these things.Sam

How can I have the 3D cockpit views instead of the bitmaps when I look left, right, etc.? I tried removing the bitmap's for the views, but when I look around all I see is black.

Is there a paint kit for the amphib XC-47C in the works? It'd be a good airplane to repaint.

Haven't been over here for a while and it seems the older posts have gone bye-bye.I had posted a question about MAAM issuing a FS2002 version of the amphib for those of us that bought the FS2002 version of the base plane (for the second time I might add). The answer I received was "...it may or may not ever happen as FS2004 was the direction everyone was taking and too much work was reqiuired to put a special version." Since I can't find the original thread, my recollection may be a bit off, but I definitely remember I wasn't very pleased with the general content, as I had paid for a version of the bird that was being excluded from upgrades and add-ons.Be that as it may, …

Working with Ian, I hope I have gotten these as exact as possible.Just uploaded then to Avsim a few minutes ago. Feel free to add them to the MAAM site as you will. If I can be of any additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.Cheers!Heatherhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/398594/SFS-B.JPGhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/398594/SFS-G.JPG

Hi, MAAM people,Just a reminder to include the R4D Sperry Autopilot on the B-25 Fire-Fighter panel like you promised! With the gun-sight mounting removed it should squeeze quite nicely into the space provided by the directional gyro and flight indicator... Or something of that ilk......Well actually, you DIDN'T promise anything of the sort... But full marks for trying, eh?Eeeh, the nerve of some people... You can't take them anywhere can you?Ian (Sir John) :-sword

Hi all. Can anyone provide me with a repaint of the R4D by MAAM? I would be only too grateful to make another donation to MAAM for this repaint. The plane I would like is ZS-GPL, flown by Springbok Flying Safaris in South Africa. I have flown in this plane several times, and have sat in the cockpit several times while ground runs are being done. It is in excellent flying condition, doing tours and sunset flips. Their website is http://www.springbokflyingsafaris.com.Many pictures are available of this plane:http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...inct_entry=truehttp://www.jetphotos.net/showphotos.php?regsearch=ZS-GPLZS-GPL is a 1945 C-47.Please let me know if a repain…

Hi Guys,I have a question for the R4D guru here, do we know from the aircraft.cfg file the dry operating moment ?I found this line in the R4D aircraft.cfg : empty_weight_CG_position=-4.0,0.0,0.0does the -4.0 stand for meters, feet or an FS internal value ?I already asked this last december, unfortunatly to no avail, but I do need the answer so if anyone can do the trick ?Thank you in advance, francois

I'm sure not many of you have seen this particulat bird, I found her in the IAF museum this weekend - http://grm.m.walla.co.il/briefcase/00f3/v/...16/PICT0014.jpgShe's not in a very good state and that's a shame, but she's still a beauty! While at it, will there be more DC3 models (especially C47, cago doors, big p&w 1200hp engines as many C47s we had here had?)I have two or three repaints done on the current C47, but I want to know if it's worth stalling them some more, or just relase...

Greetings,I've tried posting here before without success, but I thought I would try again. I recently purchased the MAAM DC-3 add-on and it locks up after about 10 minutes of flight. It generally happens right after moving a control such as a throttle....the whole FS2004 locks up and the PC needs to be rebooted. I've also noticed that few of the MAAM controls work while in the VC mode. Finally, I've noticed that most of the FS2004 default planes have degraded their cockpit views to the point where the gauges are no longer readable. This effect happened right after I loaded the MAAM plane into FS2004. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a solution?
