I have a problem with the trim on both the R4D6 and the B25. If I pause the flight and quit FS, then come back later and restart, the plane will pitch up and gain 1000 ft or more. It takes massive amounts of nose-down trim to bring the plane back to level, but once it is there it is stable for the rest of the time.I don't know if these are the only planes affected but I have not noticed it with a couple of other planes. My suspicion is that the problem is not the planes but the hardware, possibly my CH Products flight yoke which is getting old. I use one of the rocker switches to set the trim and maybe FS is not reading it correctly at the restart. Can anyone shed some lig…

I did another one, a redo of a repaint I did for the default DC-3. The model isn't correct for this repaint, or at least it doesn't seem to be, so I'll wait for further updates to release it.http://www.edknapp.net/sim/classic1.jpghttp://www.edknapp.net/sim/classic2.jpghttp://www.edknapp.net/sim/classic3.jpg

I originally sent this message to the MAAM site and Bill Rambow has requested that I post it here . I'm sorry it's a bit long , but I have tried to include as much info as possible . thanks Ted +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I've been using the FS2004 model in FS9 everyday since I bought it. ( as you've guessed I'm a DC-3 nut ! - I've also got a soft spot for the DC-4 - hint ? ) anyway...... the reason for this email, is that I have encountered a problem that has me baffled. Something has obviously happened to prevent the engines from starting and I can't for the life of me think why. Like I said, I've been using the MAAM R4D for about the last 9…

Hi Guys, the MAAM SIM R4D-6/DC-3 cdrom landed in my mailbox last week end and I am purely ecstatic since then ;-)However English is not my native langage so when reading the "before starting engine" check-list I see the item "Throttles...Cracked" I am a little bit puzzled...On the dark side of the software business I do understand the meaning but here ????Can you explain me the true meaning of "Cracked" ?TIAaltack

Hi Guys, when looking at the MAAM SIM R4D-6/DC-3 manual, the METO power Manifold Pressure is quoted at 43 and a half inches on the Pilot's side placard, but stated at 41 inches in the "Take off and initial climb" chapter...What is the best value ?Regards, altack

For any who have repainted the Cargo version, you may already be aware of this but I thought I would bring it to the attention of those who are not. This is something you will want to be aware of if you are planning a paint job that has different colors over the cargo door versus the area on the tail just to the rear of same doors. There is a raised section just over the top of these doors that, unfortunately, gets its colors from another area. This is fine if both areas are the same; not so fine otherwise. This link will provide a couple of screenshots showing what I speak of. http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=23726&page=It

Hello Ladies and Gentleman,I got my CD from the DC3 just a few days ago. Thank you very much for such a masterpiece. It is a great enjoyment flying this fine bird. I first took my place in a DC 3 when I was about six years old and that was back in the 60 th in Liberia/Africa. We only had two of them, one for the president and the other one for passengers, and animals and so on. Very interesting when you are flyinf and also have some chicken a board. My Question to the repainters is, is someone is working on the swedish Vridjof Viking. I have seen this bird some months ago and it is a beauty. I still have some more pictures, so if someone is willing, just give me a note.Bes…

Does any one know whether the R4D fuel consumptiom matches that of the default FS9 DC-3?As I intend to join the DC-3 World Rally, where either aircraft can be used, this is important, as fuel consumption is one of the qualifying factors.I can, of course, make a test trip, but I would feel more confident if someone else already had that experience.Regards,

When Briefing Time was first released, MAAM said that a Doolittle Raid version would be forthcoming. Any information on this version?

Flying the R4D from Meigs to o'Hare and the airspeed indicator returns to 0 and freezes regularly. Reset flight and it works fine. Fly sometimes in snow. Is the freezing gauge related to something in the realism such as the pitot tube freezing in the snow or is a patch or fix needed. I use a Dell 2.8 and Windows XP FS 2004

I noticed some of the photos of the DC-3, available for down loading, have a small saw tooth edges alon the linear lines. Would these edges show up in the download aircraft or could they be removed using the video display adjustments? ThanksEd W

My first post here and Id like to start out saying that the R4D/DC-3 is excellent and flies like a dream. One small problem I'm having is that I cant see the landing lights from the VC in the medium model, I can see them from the 2D panel and they work fine in the full model.I realise this may be a side effect of not having the wings modelled in the medium VC as thats where they are mounted but would it be possible in any future updates to add them ?

I cannot get separate throttles in MAAM Briefing Time. First I cannot use engine no 2 separately with my joystick by using the keyboard shortcut E + 2. I can get engine number 1 by using the keyboard shortcut E+1. But then I cannot get the two throttles to work together again by using the keyboard shortcut E+1+2 after I have separated engine number 1 throttle by using the keyboard shortcut E+1. The keyboard shortcuts work fine with all the Microsoft Flight Simulator 9 Default Aircraft and also with MAAM R4D / DC-3 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Could Some please tell me how to fix this problem. Thanks,

I don't normally go all-caps on message subjects, but I think this warrants it. :) I want to thank the entire MAAM-SIM team for putting together one hell of an amazing product. It's well worth the money, especially considering that the money is going toward restoring more of MAAM's birds. It's a great piece of work and I'm really looking forward to enjoying it for a long time!Lewis "Moose" GregoryColumbia, South Carolina

I have 512mb ram and 2.6 processor. I use a Logitech attack 3 joystick. no rudder pedals. I am having occasional problem with the B25 in that it wants to spin around at end of runway and I don't seem to have good rudder control, wants to go left rather than straight on ground. I have the p factor set at 50% with all other sliders max. I have calibrated joystick.

Excusez-moi, je suis Americain. Je ne parle pas francais. So, I would like to solicit some help from one of our French speaking friends. I have a review of BT which appeared in the April 2003 issue of Micro Simulateur magazine that I would like to have translated into English for the new MAAM-SIM webpages I am constructing. If you are bi-lingually fluent and would like to give the team a hand, I will give you a link to dl a PDF scan of the review, unless you already have the magazine and do not need it.Merci beaucoup.Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, Sodja & Beaumonthttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Those of you who have been waiting patiently to get your paintbrushes out will be pleased to hear that the first repaint templates have been uploaded to major sites this morning. The file name is MAAMkit1.zip (it's about 16.7MB) containing 'bare metal' and 'white top' textures for both the Passenger and Cargo models in the base MAAM-SIM package. Options are provided, also, for clean configuration (warm climate aircraft!) or the more common configuration of horizontal surfaces and vertical stabilizer with de-icing boots. As further versions of the DC-3 are released, such as the forthcoming XC-47C (won't be long now!), additional templates will be supplied in order that yo…

Well, since I've been known to have a "few connections" to that Banting fellow, and since I have got a bit of PIC time on radial engined machines, I figured I'd better finally break down and buy your DC 3/R4D. What a GREAT airplane!!! You guys really did a bang-up jo... er, maybe "bang-up" isn't the best phrase when describing an airplane, so let's go with TERRIFC job on this machine! Me-thinks I'll be spending a lot of time in her in some fairly remote regions of the country judging from the flights I've taken so far. So far, it's just been the ferry/familiarization flight from Reading to Waterdown and in to Peterborough (Ontario) for a repaint, then it will be off t…
