I'm looking for some real-world repaints of the DC-4/R4D/C-47 - historic, current, etc. Can anyone point me to a place that might have these? Also, in the vein of the recently released amphib - any chance we could get skis? ;)See THIS Airliners.net photo...Thanks in advance, love your product!Best,sg

The two recent upgrades are a nice follow-up of a wonderful release. Thank you MAAM !Now, as a non unfrequent B25 (virtual) pilot :-) , I'd make two suggestions for future upgrades :- option to hid the yoke in the VC. As nice a touch as it is, it has a big drawback of making reading the altimeter, the turning indicator and the VSI very difficult. Eye candy it is but it doesn't help in the suspension of disbelief in this regard. - add tooltips to the VC gauges to help reading and tuning (VOR etc.)Again this is a wonderful bird and I think these two improvements'd make her even better.Another path of improvement would be fuel management...Dominique

Is there an existing website for downloading the new Rattle BT paints as dangled in the wind on AVSIM?

Just wanted to give a quick thank you to all the individuals involved in creating the B-25 Breifing Time. The best part about the aircraft is not only the fantastic modeling of the plane, cockpit, systems, etc. but the fact that you stand behind it and continue to add free upgrades. This has got to be one of the best supported addons I have. I am glad to support the museum by purchasing the MAAM B-25, and appreciate the attention to details and support you have given since it's release. The new panel release is awesome! You keep making the B-25 better and better!:DExcellent work MAAM team, and than you for the hours of unending enjoyment. The only thing that is miss…

What a great idea to put the repaints of BT in one package here at AVSIM's! And thanks a lot, Rattle, for the outstanding paintwork! A wonderful present, indeed.

I have downloaded the C-47 float plane and what a "ball". It is definitely different to fly and handle (not the Caravan) but now you can do some Bush Flying in the C-47. Great job to those involved!!!!!!

Hello out there....Any of you talented painters out there care to take a chance of doing a Reeve Aleutian DC-3?I totally love to fly the DC-3 in/out of short strips in rural Alaska... only dreaming of making it more realistic with the paint of the airline who used to do this for real!!!Thanking you in advance!Regards,Ted Panamarioff - Kodiak, Alaska

My curiosity overwhelms me, I can keep from asking this question no longer. :) On the MAAM DC-3 panel )on what we jet jockeys would call the "glareshield," I guess) there's some stenciled writing: "CARB ALCOHOL WINDS ALCOHOL WIPERS", then the words "LEFT" and "RIGHT", and four knobs or similar items. What is all that? I guess it's on the real R4D-6 at MAAM, but I can't figure out what it is or what those knobs might be. My best guess is that the writing is some kind of reminder for a pre-landing checklist?Lewis "Moose" GregoryColumbia, South Carolina

I've done it again. I think I must drink more beer.I recently uploaded a file called DCAMAAM8.zip to the main libraries. This contains replacement DXT3 bitmaps for the key external 32-bit textures on the DC-3 Airways floatie repaints (DCAMAAMA.zip), with a view to reducing the hit on systems when DCA pilots get around to flying these bouncing ducks in multiplayer. There have been a couple of hundred downloads to date, most of which are probably by DCA pilots. Although no one has commented yet, I have just noticed that a gremlin snuck into one of the file names. In both replacement texture sets, there is a file called h_surf_t.bmp.It should be called hsurf_t.bmp.Anyone who…

Got the XC-47C add-on and it is fantastic. Thanks you MAAM for putting that together for us.I was wondering if some could supply the changes required to the aircraft.cfg to enable easy ground steering as in the rest of the DC-3 package? No, I'm not trying to cheat but I have a failed toe brake on my pedals and just need to be able to enable it until I can get it repaired. :)

You are about to learn why my 'water rudders' gauge as uploaded in DCAMAAM7.ZIP was not an official file, LOL.I made a mistake in the README. Part of the installation process reads:QUOTE4. Within the download DCAMAAM7.ZIP, look inside the folder 'AIRCRAFT/MAAM-SIM XC-47C IFR'. Move the two panel folders 'panel' and 'panel.sperry' to your new '.../Flight Simulator 9/AIRCRAFT/MAAM-SIM DC-3 IFR' folder. Again, allow overwriting. This will install new and appropriate PANEL.CFG files.UNQUOTEThe destination folder should be '.../Flight Simulator 9/AIRCRAFT/MAAM-SIM XC-47C IFR'.You wouldn't know how many times I read over that line and still didn't pick it this error; I even ins…

Again, I LOVE this plane. Really looking forward to that float version.Anyway, I am almost finished with a Delta Air Lines repaint when I ran into a little problem. I had completely forgotten that the engine is a mirrored texture for the port side.In most cases this isn't a bother but in this case where text is on the engine, well . . . http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/94074.jpg http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/94076.jpg [p class=dcmessage]Is there any chance that you fellas could be persuaded to correct this with a patch and new texture bitmap for the port side of the engines? In the meantime, as much as I hate to seeing as how I am a stickler for detail, I'll …

Hello everyone, I absolutely love the DC-3 package you guys put together. However, I am having one problem. After I make a flight and land at an airport, I cannot restart the engines for the return flight. I've been using the proper procedure but the engines just don't turn over. Could it be something to do with warm engines or the colder enviornment I've been flying in (approx. 32F). I appreciate any comments/feedbackThanks,

this is really a great plane. I am using it to re-create flights I took as a passenger in C-47's. My question is on the Pilot's side DME. I have not found the information in the documentation. The DME as three switch positions: vor dme, r nav, and appr. I think I understand the vor dme position as a regular dme. However, what are the other positions for?I understand the top nautical miles counter and bearing counter as regular DME features. What is the bottom distance counter for? Thanks for any information.John

First, I am NOT a pilot. I fly the FS2004 MAAM B-25 ONLY for fun, so please excuse my complete ignorance about some of this stuff, and I hope my question is "worthy". Oh yeah, the MAAM BT is a beautiful piece of work!I know what the mixture control actually does, you know, leans or enriches the fuel air mixture to the engine. But neither the HTML manual, nor the re-printed PTM, or any of the videos explain how to use it. When do I lean it? How much? How do I know what it
