Hi guys.I generally fly the B-25 at or around 20,000 ft for longer hops. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get to cruise speed listed in the POH. I engage the blowers when passing 11,000 or so and by the time I get to cruise level, I am lucky to have 25in of manifold pressure. Also, the procedure for engaging the blowers is to reduce RPM to 2000 and mixture to FULL RICH, engage the superchargers, and adjust RPM and mixture as needed. Well, if I go full rich on the mixture, the engines quit, no matter how fast or slow I change it. What the heck am I doing wrong here?

Hi all!Apologies in advance that this isn't strictly a MAAM-SIM post, but I thought that the people who were best qualified to answer my question might be found here! :-)I currently fly the default DC3 with Dave Bitzer's and Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont's altered flight dynamics. My question is whether I should set some rudder and eleveator trim before takeoff to counteract torque, or whether I should gradually add it after takeoff. If before takeoff, what settings are recommended? Any help would be appreciated!Cheers!Paul Mallows...

Hello all,I am sure sombody here will be able to answer quickly enough...My repaint is going preety well, and she's almost ready for release.I can't find where to change the spinner color, though. This is one small detail, but I hate to detract from the realism of my repaint for such a small issue.Could someone please tell me the name of the file and where in it do I control the spinner color?

... for the gorgeous MATS C-47 repaint. Like all of your work, it's an absolutely beautiful airplane. But for me, this one is extra special! Rest assured that the gentleman who initially requested this isn't the only one who's thrilled today.Ken

Exactly that...I paid for the one CD, received it in the mail (and quite rapidly I might add), and then about 2 weeks later I received the very same CD in the mail again. Not that I'm complaining mind you ;-) however, I don't like to just take something that I didn't either purchase or otherwise earn. Should I send it back, and if so, could you give me the address to mail it to? It's been awhile, and I'm just now getting caught up with things. Thanks.Jaysen F. Snow, SSgt, USAF

I took a trip up to the Museum today and it was great. I got to look all around and see the R4D and a bunch of other great aircraft. The avenger which will be flying soon. The restoration of the P61. The best part of the trip though was seeing Briefing Time. It is one unbelievable airplane. That was worth the trip in it's self. The guide allowed me to look up inside it and that was fantastic. I recommend anyone that can take a trip there it will be well worth your time. To think I lived an hour away and without MSFS I probably never would have known the Museum was there. Also thanks to the Sim team for such great aircraft to fly.

I seems to have a problem with openning the cargo doors - I think it's a general problem, not just a MAAN DC3 problem but I can't be sure because I don't even remember which of my other planes had this option.I press SHIFT+E then release them then press 2 - and it only opens the main exit, not the scondary one.I checked the assignments menu, I have SHIFT +E as "select Exit" and 1,2,3,4 as "Select Item", so all is good in that department. But still, I cannot select the secondary exit.Anybod has an idea?

Ok, this may be a stupid question, but I can't find the answer in the HTM manual or the PDF copy of the real manual. There is a red light between and slight above the manifold pressure guage and the VOR indicator. In the 2D cockpit, it's more directly above the top VOR indicator. What is it..?I'm flying out of Port Moresby, New Guinea, headed south to Northern Australia, and it came on shortly after takeoff. Well, to be precise, I noticed it shortly after takeoff. :) When I shut off the fuel booster pumps (above 1,000 feet) it went off. I turned em back on just to see if that was the cause, but it never did come back on.Thanks!

Is there a comprehensive tutorial abnywhere on the operation of the Sperry autopilot on the DC3/R4D? I've read the MAAM manual and the C-54 attachment and am getting bits and pieces by e-mail from a friend who flew these things during WW2. But I need a difinitive manual that covers all the aspects. One of the major problems I am having is the nose of the aircraft pitching up or down when I switch off the Sperry. I'm cruising along fat, dumb, and happy with the Sperry holdng altitude and course perfectly. Then I get 20 miles from my destination and switch off the Sperry to start my descent and get a pitch up or down. I have not yet had a smooth transition from Sperry c…

Just curious, is there any plans for a variation of the R4D/DC-3 with skis? I ask because I am working on a repaint for the DC-3 at the moment of an old one that was based in Palmer, Alaska that had skis mounted on it. Thanks :-).

Hello MAAM-Sim Team,Quick question about order processing and wait time. I totally understand you are all volunteers and may be busy with family and simmertime activities. I very much appreciate all your work and I am looking forward to getting in the R4D cockpit and getting some work done!!Towards that end, I submitted my order on 8/23 (I have my confirmation email) and MAAM has yet to debit my account (today is the 27th). I assume that the CD won't ship until MAAM has their money :-)If 5-7 days is typical between order placement and debit/shipping, then I'll excercise my patience and curb my enthusiasm :-) After seeing Oren Ogeva's recent screenshots and looking at the …

Finally having the opportunity to install FS9, my files and add-ons onto our new PC, I installed last night my CD-copy of Briefing Time, along with the FS9 compatible file and a few variants found on the web. Briefing Time always worked superbly on my old PC and I was very much looking forward to the day I could again fly her. What I found, however, is that none of these appeared in the FS9 list of aircraft available for flight; on the other hand, my R4D/DC3 (FS2004 CD version) was among those that appeared.I looked under "North American", but nothing.Did I miss something? The installations were successful and all of the folders appear in the Aircraft branch of FS9 when …

I've been flying the earlier GMax v 8.0 and was getting to know it well with its known cockpit control limitations. I've notices that my new MAAM Gmax version is known as Version 4.80. What does this mean? Will MAAM continue with a new version numbering system?I've also noted that the sensitivity is different. Same problem with controlling rpm's no matter where you place the mouse it makes a major reduction as do the throttles. Same problem was in the Gmax v 8.0. Looks like the new CH Throttle module will solve that problem. It's August 23 and I checked again for a PDF Flight Manual for the MAAM Gmax a/c. Can't find it anywhere. Help? Thanks for the great job. I recently installed the BT Oil Drip file. It is quite amusing! Instead of an oil drip I have running 'bugs' that fall on the ground and then start running away from the plane at moderate speed. If I repeat the action, I get two other row of bugs! The airfield is full of bugs by now, do you intend to create a kill-bug file, too?:7

Great job on the MAAM R4-D. One question: I've noticed that there is a droop in the leading edge of the outer wing panel, about halfway between the wing tip and the wing attachment flange wher the sweep-back starts. Is that intentional? All the DC-3's I've seen in photos and in real life had straight leading edges on that section. Is the R4-D unique in this respect? Thanks again for an outstanding aircraft!
