Mark..My apologies to all conserned...MAAM team and MS.I was so excited to see Col.Dick Cole again and spend a few days with him that it never even crossed my mind about the legalities about him flying the B-25 on my CD.Will be happy to make any restitution. The pictures I wanted to load were to big for the file. Again Mark my apologies....guess I had my own "Dark Moment" there..RB

If you want fantastic scenery to go with your MAAM B-25J or DC-3 you should try Golden Wings 3. It's a complete transformation of FS9. Instead of modern days FS you get Golden Age FS! New ground textures, new autogen, Golden Age AI, Golden Age Airfields,... AND IT'S ALL FREE!!! Thanks to Bill and Lynn Lyons and friends!!! You can get it at http://windrfters.com/ An absolute must-have!

Hi,There used to be a thread here about modifying the MAAM R4D so the landing lights light the engines too.I can't seem to find it, can anyone remind me how that modifiction is done?http://online.vatsimindicators.net/825051/142.png

I added the Lear45 NAV/GPS switch to the main panel and the BT flies GREAT with the autopilot using CTRL-N. Not like the real BT but it is fun to fly an IFR flight plan and follow the GPS. Flew at 10,000 ft. from Reading to Philadelphia, Newark and JFK. The ATC works GREAT too using Bill Morad's excellent ATC panel.

Hi folks, i was wondering if anyone had experianced this small problem. I am using the MAAM, DC3, bare metal MV , and a few others all MAAM, i have noticed lately that i am haveing very large swings on the VSI, i am sure we are not talking wind shear. The range of the swings both up and down are 2,000 and sometimes off the clock, now i have saved checked settings and rstarted flights, but it is still persisting, settles for a half hour and and then another half hour of this. It happens when i am using the Sperry, i have of course reset the jolly thing, but to no avail. Also if it helps , on the out side view, quite often the elevator is flapping like crazy, and then settl…

How long does it usually take for the R4D CD to show up if it is shipped within the continental US? I am asking beacuse I ordered the R4D from PC aviator 8 days ago and they still show it as backordered (despite their claim that backorders only take 1 or 2 days to get in stock). I am considering cancelling my order from them and just getting it straight from MAAM if it would be any faster.thanks,David S

I'm getting acquainted with Briefing Time. What a magnificent piece of work! Thanks to all involved in creating her.Although it appears to me that I'm following the manual exactly for startup, the engines simply will not fire.I shut one down in flight, then restarted it within a minute or so and it fired up. But if I wait for several minutes it won't restart. Also, if I shut down the engines and then come back some minutes later and try to start them, they crank but they won't fire.In addition, if I save a flight with a cold, dead cockpit, following the startup procedures fails to get the engines started.I have fuel pressure in the green, but the engines won't start.Any…

This is sort-of the same as the thread about missing bits of the aircraft, but it's different enough that I gave it a thread of its own.Sometimes when I change to spot view only some of the textures load and I end up looking at a plane that has a painted rear-half but white textureless wings and front half. Or maybe one side will be complete and the other side will be blank. Or maybe just one wing and the tail will be painted ... The plane is complete, it's just not completely painted. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, and no pattern to what gets loaded and what doesn't, and the only fix I have found is to go back to an inside view, wait a while, then …

Dear MAAMsim,I ordered your DC3 CD on Monday (8th) and I am highly anticipating it. Unless there is a show or other event causing a delay in your sim department I am assuming it's in the mail. Could you let me know what shipping method you use (USPS, UPS, FedX, etc)? This would make it easier for me to know when to expect it. I live in Arizona. If I could, I'd love to visit MAAM, but visiting PA is not an option for me right now. Still seeing the digital version of your R4D will be a little like visiting in a virtual short of way. I'm looking forward to flying it. Thanks for your time.Sincerely,Kevin Roberts

I got my CD in the mail a few days ago and WOW!. I had always thought BT set the standard for classic round-engined birds, but the R4D takes it to a whole new level.I did have a couple of questions though. I noticed that from certain angles, various bits of the airplanes appear and disappear, ranging from the antennas on the DC3 to the prop hub and cowling tops on the R4D, is there a way to correct this or is it a hiccup in the model? My other comment is that my CD was missing the XC47 for some reason I downloaded it off the maam site, so its no big deal to me, but I thought you'd like to know that there may be some V7 CD's that are missing that part(everything else was o…

Am I missing anything new. I have the MAAM-Sim 6th edition and I'm reading of a 7th and 8th out. Just want to keep up to date though I don't know how it could get any better:) Yea I do know too. If someone would come out with a set of ski's and maybe jeto bottles for the c-47. That way I could go back on the ice cap from Thule as I use to when I was station there. Doing a great job folks keep it up. Don

I think most use the mouse wheel for operating the throttle etc; on the R4D. I really miss that on the B-25. Is there a simple remedy for this? ThanksEd Workman

Hi all,A few weeks ago there were a couple of problems with the C47 release, ie the Fs2004 plane had the wrong airfile and there were fuzzy textures on the panel. I understood that a patch would follow but haven't seen anything, have I missed this?Steve

Hi guys,I have seen and heard great things about the MAAM-SIM DC-3/R4D and being a DC-3 fan I really would like to buy it, especially as the money goes to such a good cause. I have a couple of questions though:1) Is it possible to send cheques for the R4D/DC-3 package?2) If so I need to do anything else other than send a cheque for $30 plus the delivery to England and wait for the CD?Thanks,Angus

I would like to share with you some screenshots I made during a Sentimental Journey over the Normandy Invasion beaches yesterday. The pics were also sent to Bluegrass Airlines, my virtual airline. Enjoy! Paul http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/122849.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/122851.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/122852.txthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/122853.txt

Hello all, my name is Paul and I'm new to this forum. I am a great Dakota-fan and I work on the two Dutch 'DDA' Daks as a volunteer licenced mechanic in my free time. Quite a hobby, I can tell you! Anyway, ever since I fly the MAAM-Daks, I was a little disappointed in the way the tail wheel was mounted. Just like the shock absorber was totally overfilled!! Jan Visser rightfuly corrected this in his OY-BPB-model. Also, most of the Dakota's build had/have the R1890-32 engine with the 'hidden' magnetos. (like the BPB). So most repaints would be more accurate with these engines. The propellor-details made by Jan Visser on the BPB are also excellent! Question:Are there any act…

I have been fooling with the sound some but I need the original sound.cfg and the CD is buried in a box, somewhere, while painting. I foolishly changed the original without backing up. Can somebody send me the original "Sound.cfg" from the R4D folder? It would save many hours of searching through boxes. TIA...Vic

I would love to fly the C47 from England over the D-Day drop zones and back using the same routes and navigation aids the original pilots used. It would mean someone creating new scenery objects (light ships) and perhaps nav beacons. Anyone planning to try it?Here's an excerpt from a website (http://www.6juin1944.com/assaut/aeropus/en_9tcc.php) I posted info about here on June 2nd:"From their starting points to the English coast, aerial corridors are marked out in order to guide the planes until the gathering point 'ELKO' preceding the crossing of the Channel. Then, the planes head south-west and leave the English coast at the Portland Bill headland. From this moment thei…

Last evening I stumbled on John Wayne flying in ice. I soon realized it was a film version of Ernest Gann's "Island in the Sky", the film name as well.As the flight grew longer and the fuel dwindled, John clicked the fuel gauge-right main, left main. The device jiggled and clicked just as it does in the MAAM simulation. I remember this being challenged and responded to in the manual.Thank you MAAM for such a superb job.Howard

Hey gang. For some reason my Sperry AP has decided it's time to mess with me...or (more likely) I've done something that has whacked it. It acts completely normal when on the ground. Once airborne it will no longer adjust in single digit increments (heading) and, instead, moves 10 degrees for every click. I'm not quite sure what I've done to cause this, but can you guide me in the right direction? Darn thing was working perfectly 2 weeks ago. I've NEVER had a problem with the MAAM-SIM DC3 before, so I'm at a loss for the reason. Yes...I've done many things, in the last 2 weeks...added aircraft, add-on programs, etc.etc. I know your going to ask but since I haven't used th…

How long does it normally take to get an order from MAAMSIM once it's paid for? I ordered the R4D 9 days ago and haven't heard anything about it. I don't whether it is just a normal delay, or whether the order might have fallen into a crack. Can someone enlighten me?Thanks!Dewey
