What must I do to see the download pictures of the R4D and C-47 material. All I see is 8059 embedded in a blue background. This is not a problem with the B-25. ThanksEd Workman

I an using Mega Secenry for the San Francisco Bay area. Can this third party scenry cause a problem? It should not as I can start other aircrart. When I select the R4D at MAAM's home field I can start it okay. Can someone help me resolve the problem please.Thank you.Blazec

I have a quick question since I haven't really been following things here for sometime. I remember wanting to purchase the wonderful DC3 but was kind of "turned off" by the limited "clickability" in the VC. About a year ago a "full clickable" vc patch was talked about. So my question is: Is the VC now fully clickable?Thank you,Jason

What's the technique for doing a 180 degree turnaround at the end of a narrow runway with a DC-3? You've just landed on a short field, and there you sit without about 10 feet of 75' runway in front of you. There must be a wealth of real-world experience on the subject out there. Thanks,Gary

I'll probably get my head handed to me for posting this on a forum which may not be....the Correct Forum. Oh well. For those of you who may not know who Ernest Gann was. An 18,000 hour RW Pilot who was also an Author of many books on avaition. He flew in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Started out in DC2s, then DC3s, C-87s, then DC4s, flying for the "Lines", and for the "Air Transport Service" during WWII.. Some of the planes he flew....in his words.."Had Gremlins". They sometimes had "problems" that the mechanics and engineers could not explain. He worked around the problems and survived, by shear flying skill and determination.Ganns books prompted me to buy the MAAM DC3/R4D.…

Where might I find a copy of Doc. #AN 01-40ND-1, being the "Handbook of Flight Operating Instructions for the C-47B and R4D-6"? There is an Aussie outfit that sells it (with some other material) on CD, but I was hoping that MAAM-Sim had this available either on-line or for sale. The only thing I found on my 8th Edition MAAM-Sim CD was the Pilot Training Manual for the C-47, but no Op. Insts. Many thanks for the feedback,GaryDriftwood, TX

Since its announcement (almost one year before now) I have looking for the availability of this bird, which I hope will be at the same high standard as the R4D and the B-25. Are there any news about a possble date for its availability?Regards,

I have the MAAM B-25...and recently the DC3/R4D..both on CDs. I am a BIG supporter of MAAM. The planes are great..once the buyer figures it out..mostly on his own. Tried to install the "Reading" Scenery for the first time today. I'm NOT a computer guy. Todays first attempt "Locked Up" my computer. I had to Re-Boot with the ON/OFF Button. I went for a cup of coffee. LATER: Try again. This time I "Winged It"... and pushed a few buttons purely because I was out of options. A great Risk when you don't know what you're doing. It worked. Now the Reading Scenery is in.IF the instructions had been written "CLEARLY"..and step by step..it would have worked fine for a novice. …

I have just got the R4D/DC3 and it's great. However, I can not start the engines in the start up flights. I have watched the vidoe about five times, read the manual and I reckon I am doing all the right things but I still can't get the engines to fire. I don't know how you prime the engine while turning the props over eight times with a mouse. Obviously, it can be done - i just need someone to tell me how - preferably in sequence.Regardstedh

Ever since I installed the M.A.A.M. 8th edition CD, I've have some interesting problems with FS2004 itself. Here's a list. Any help will be appreciated (I fly the BEA cargo version):1)The stall horn is inoperative. The "stall" message appears in the lower right-hand corner of the screen, but no sound.2) In FS2004, some (but not all) of the "flying lessons" have no sound (i.e., I can't hear Ron Machado's jokes anymore :-)).3) When I take any "flying lesson," and exit from it, the program crashes to desktop. As I say, none of these things happened before I added the wonderful M.A.A.M. DC-3 program . . . I can work around them, of course, but I'm wondering if there are more i…

Hi All I have just installed my DC3 and very nice it is too. However on the BEA Cargo Default flight, after I open both doors and load the cargo, the secondary door refuses to close when I use the "2" key. Is there a separate key to close the door or do I have a problem? I dont have any other addon aircraft Apart from the ultimate traffic addon.Cheers,Stewart.

First thank you for the great paintkit ! Appreciated...Could you tell me in which template are these tiny antennas (bits of stuff :)) on the top on the fuselage ? Am I blind or what ? Another Q maybe, I suppose that the templates work for all the models alike, DC3, R4D and C47 ?A preview of the work in progress :)(a lot of small corrections still to do...)http://forums.netwings.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3454D

Went flying this afternoon out west. (USA) The FSGenesis site mentioned FS9 has some default mesh at 76m at Mt. Rainier in Washington State. I wanted to see what 76m looked like. I took the Navy R4D. I have a Seattle Sectional so this makes it much more real. I flew out of "Bowers Airport" which is about 52 NM East of the mountain. The course to the mountain (14,400') was 235 Magnetic. Probably about a half hour flight time. Out to the mountain and around it..and then look for a place to land. "Ranger Creek" is about 14 NM North East. One runway..2900 feet long at an elevation of 2650'. This airport is in a DEEP twisting valley formed by a river..surounded by HIGH moun…

I fly (and love) the new and improved DC-3 BEA cargo plane. Being a newbie to flight simming, I'll probably overwork this forum for a while :-) Two items for now: (1) Clock . . . three corners (rate, seconds, minutes) work fine, but when I click (or roll the mouse wheel) on the lower left-hand corner (hours) the program crashes to desktop. On return, the hour hand has in fact been adjusted by one hour. Any ideas?(2) Alcohol . . . even with both de-icer switches in the off position, the alcohol tanks drain over time during flight. Is something else using them? Any ideas? Many thanks for the help.

When looking at the C-47 fuel distribution diagram it appears, by proper valving, you are able to crossfeed from one fuel tank to another. The explanation is not clear whether the valves are manually or electrically operated nor do I see a transfer pump control. Also the 2D panel shows a fuel tank selector gauge with 4 positions that operate, but in the VC position the same 4 positions are shown plus an OFF position. All this came about because I lost an engine, during flight, due to an empty tank and couldn't figure out how to cross-feed from another tank (if thats possible. My question, is it possible and how do you do it? If not, OK. ThanksEd Workman

When I use the Autopilot, the elevator flutters. I thought that it was my yoke (CH Products Flight Sim Yoke USB), so I disabled it, and the fluttering stopped, so it was the yoke.I was wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if anyone knows how to fix it.Thanks

I'm flying the DC-3 cargo (8th ed.). I've created several different flights and saved them all. What I have discovered is that when I create a new flight, it has the properties of the last one I saved (e.g., same fuel load). And apparently if you create a new flight with the same aircraft, and change the parameters (e.g., fuel load) this will translate to any other previously saved flight you later open. Hope this isn't true, but has anyone else experienced it and does anyone have a workaround for it? Thanks.

Even though Im still waiting for mine to arrive, I started downloading textures to install on it. The one texture that I really want is no where to be found: Duggy! Duggy is my favorite plane. He always brings a smile to my face. There is a texture for the default DC-3, but sadly, it is not accurate because Microsoft uses mirroring textures, so the D on the tail and the Duggy on the bottom are imposible to texture.I have some repainting experience, but nothing near what would be required to paint this plane. So I was wondering if someone could crank it out. It shouldnt be too difficult for a talented painter, hes really just yellow with text and a smile.Thank you in a…

Well, maybe more of a MAMA! simmer at the moment. Papa is a bit busy with his new Christmas present right now, so I get to announce the arrival of Captain John Montgomery Beaumont to the team. Like all good airline captains, John arrived a bit early, and all systems are A-OK.http://www.avsim.com/~maamdev/jmb.jpgJohn (the one not hiding his face) is the first Beaumont male born since 1952 and will proudly carry on the family name.Congratulations to Mark and the whole Beaumont family from the MAAM-SIM Family.Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/maamsim_neon.gif

Why does the right engine have to start first? When I used the default, I always started left, then right. But that didnt work on the MAAM one. At first, I thought I wasnt priming enough. Then, I thought I primed too much. Finally this morning, I started it right, then left, and it was fine. Then I noticed in the checklist it says "repeat * items for the left engine". So why is it this way?
