Hello everyone, Now, let me start at the beginning..... About 2 year ago, I was happy as a clam flying around in my B-25. I got the B-25 via download as the CD I had received was blank. Then one terrible day, BOOM went my hard drive....or something like that, as some data was recoverable. Data such as the FS2002 folder. Following the incident, I did not use FS until recently, and now I wish to fly my lucious B-25 once again. Problem is, I have only been able to copy the B-25 A/C folder from FS2002, and not do a clean install as recommended. I also copied all the "RCS" titled gauges into FS2004. I have downloaded the FS2004 upgrades (A/C and panel) and I am running into t…

What is the purpose of the inverters? For quite some time I have flown this beauty without using them. One reason being that I couldnt locate them on the panel. Ah, but today I found them located on the secondary panel of the radio stack. But I can't find in the manuals any reference as to their function, only the check list says to turn them on. So what do they do??????Thanks for the answers.

Got the R4D/DC3 for Christmas. NO cold START: Tried all the logical solutions...procedures, etc. ...short of my Own solution..ie: Knock down the frames (FPS)lock to 30 in FS9. I was already locked at 35..to accomodate the B-25. 35 wasn't working here: .. so I went back to 30 FPS. IT STARTED. I then kicked it back up to 35 FPS. It Still started, and continues to start. ???? Not being one to just let it go, I wondered whether I had inadvertently done something else differently during this excercise. OR: Maybe a "One Time" initialization down to 30 FPS might be the answer to both (B-25/DC3)problems. At this point, I don't know. Did I do something else differently?? W…

My DC3 passenger model, after flying awhile, loses one throttle lever control from the joystick. It can however, be activated by the mouse. If I change to the RD4 they work normally. Is there any way to "repair" this in flight without changing planes?

As promised, the First Quarterly MAAM-SIM Screenshot Contest winners have been selected and announced. If you have not yet seen the updated Screenies page, take a look...http://www.maam.org/flightsim/screenies/SCREENIES.htmHere's the PR which will shortly go up on the front page here at Avsim and elsewhere... http://www.maam.org/flightsim/news/win_sc1.htmCongrats to Dominique and Oren, as well as all the Runners Up! It was not an easy selection process, and thankfully the totality of voters made the choice and not me! Happy New Year!Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/maamsim_neon.gif

Well, the first quarterly MAAM-SIM Screenshot Contest is officially closed with the end of Autumn. Now we would like your vote - one per person, please - no stuffing the ballot box! Besides, the votes gathered here will be just one factor in determining the winner. The MAAM-SIM developers, Museum Staff and BTBT members will also be voting, and and then we'll toss everything into a hat and see what comes out.We have had some really great entries, 89 in all. Since there is such a good number, we'll make one change and award TWO grand prizes. One winner in each of two classes - Douglas and North American, will win their choice of a present or future MAAM-SIM CD. The onl…

I am ready to replace my monitor with one of the newer LCD wide jobs.Am curious as to how the planes will look. Will they be stretchedand maybe skinny or will they look pretty much normal? Does anyone have thoughts or info about this? I now have a 19" crt and would like to replace with at least a 19' LCD. Thanks, Ed Workman

Thanks to Mark Beaumont for the FREE uploaded repaint and effects for the Default DC-3. Does this come in a MAAM DC-3 version? Hi All, I have been flying the DC-3 for a couple of weeks now and I have to say it is very well done. So far, I've been able to figure out everything from the documentation except for this item in the "Before Starting Engines" section of the checklist:AC Static Selector - STATICI just can't seem to find it on the panel or mentioned in the manual. Where is it?I did have a little trouble manualy starting the engines, but it was due to the fact that I was operating the Ignition Master switch backwards: some how I got it into my head that the wrong postion was "on"... oops.Keep up the good work guys!

Hi Jeremy,Sorry about the delay getting back to you. I just returned from the U.S. Grand Prix. (Don't get me started on the Michelin fiasco!)There is no fix for the FSSound.dll issue, per se. There is really nothing wrong with the FSSound.dll file, except that FS2004 just does not recognize it and throws up a false flag. You can either say Yes to allow it to load when you start FS2004 and this warning appears, or follow the directions in the document called "fs9cfgtweak.txt" prepared by Ian Pearson. This will tell you how to edit your FS9.cfg to get rid of the warning forever. Perhaps that is the "fix" you are talking about. This doc is in your FS2004/Aircraft/B-25J…

I purchased the "Briefing Time" CDs (one was the Multi Media CD) on April 11,2005. The MAAM Website mentions in a News Release, dated August 8,2005, a NEW 5th Edition CD. My CD does not show an "Edition Number" on the face of the CD. Am I up to date, or do I need to buy a NEW 5th Edition CD??

Has anyone tried binding the cabin lights to another one of the light types that FS9 supports?I ask partly because I'd like to retrofit the aircraft with strobe lights, and partly because FS Flightkeeper constantly penalizes me for not operating my cabin lights in the same manner I would normally operate the strobe lights, because FSFK thinks the cabin lights are strobe lights......Even if I don't bother adding strobe lights, I'd really love to be able to use the cabin lights as normal and not get penalized for it........Is this possible? Or is the cabin lights function being tied to the strobes in the VC part of the model itself and therefore unmodifyable?

I have been enjoying this magnificent aircraft for a couple of weeks now and couldn't be happier with it. One thing I have noticed, however -- when the tail wheel touches down, smoke comes off not only the tail wheel, but the left main wheel as well, even though it's already been on the ground a while. Assuming, I'm correct about this, is there a quick file edit fix for this?

Goodday. Some time ago i discovered the joy of repainting a existing plane, withs soon resulted in my first upload. Happy that i was doing something back for the FS community i started my second repaint, but now i have run into a problem. One of the things i have to do is put the name Duggy between the gearbays on the underside of the wing. However, i soon discovered that the textures of the left and right wing don't join up in the middel, but instead that a large portion of the left wing is mirrored to the right side. So putting the name Duggy on the underside is out of the question at this momentWould it be possible to make a update of the DC3 passenger model so the get …
